I have the same feeling as I do with Fergie-it has elements I like and potential, but ultimately feels a bit like they played it safe or went with an unfinished demo version. The chorus is pretty infectious though.

I like this on first listen. I feel like it'll grow on me even more. It definitely sounds similar to "Burn".

I like this! It's not as instant as I hoped it would be but I think this will grow on me and should do well for Gwen!
Let's keep Fergie out of here she has her own thread where we can discuss her current flop single.

This is really good! Definitely more immediately catchy than "Settle Down". I do hear the tribal elements that people who heard the song early described but I am shocked no one mentioned how reggae it sounds! I would compare it closest to "Now That You Got It".
It also doesn't sound like a typical Ryan Tedder composition - I'm glad Gwen pushed him to adapt more to her sound than his.
It is safer than a "What You Waiting For?" but that's a high bar to meet. Definitely better than "Wind It Up" though in terms of lead solo singles.

The hell is wrong with people they don't see SMASH written in bold across this bop? Some of the reactions are like this is some stale & safe mess like Settle Down, which rightfully peaked at #19 on pop. By the time this is on iTunes y'all be lining up to purchase it. This will easily peak a t least top ten on Pop & Hot 100. Gwen is back.

This song is so infectious, I've only played it three times and I'm sitting here humming baby don't lieeeee. I agree with the above comparison to Now That You Got It, which it reminds me of more than anything else. This is a surefire top five hit, no doubt about it. Gwen's back!

I actually liked this on the 1st listen! It's definitely very poppy + safe, so hopefully that will help this to smash! To join the ongoing debate, this is 20x better than Fergie's new song, and I'm 100% impartial.

Love this and I think it will be a very big hit once radio starts playing it

It kind of reminds me of Ace of Base. It's not terrible, but there's nothing remarkable about it. And I absolutely HATE the way she sounds on these newer songs. The auto-tune sucks all the life out of her voice. Where's her signature vibrato?
As far as how this song will do, I think it could go either way. This is formulaic enough to become a hit at top 40 radio. Now, whether their audience wants to hear it from Gwen Stefani is another story.

This is nice! ON REPEAT. Pleasant, feel good song led by Gwen's sweet singing as one would expect. It reminds me of a random array of other songs, including "No Letting Go" by Sean Kingston (which others mentioned & I loved as well), "Intro" by The xx (did anyone else feel that when the instrumental first kicked in?) but most of all it reminds me of the RECENT pop hit "Burn" by Ellie Goulding. You know what? I can vaguely figure out how this is One Republic meets "Don't Tell 'Em" as that one reviewer stated last month.
Anyway, this would smash if it were Rihanna, Ariana, or even someone like Ellie Goulding. Hopefully it will for Gwen as well. If it doesn't, I really do think this would be a case of ageism and/or holding a veteran to a different hit standard than the current auto add hitmakers.

And to think I thought this was potentially going to be better than Cool, lol. This isn't very good at all. It's not as bad as Fergie's cringefest of a song, but this one is also not very buyable, imo.

Sounds like one of those early-90s eurodance songs not that bad of a song. But it reminds you of so many other songs when you listen to it.

Don't hear 'Burn'- don't agree with the general consensus either. It's not as urban-leaning as her past work, but it's still her own and perfectly viable on radio right now. Interesting that half of people are saying it's dated and the other are comparing it to Ellie Goulding's most recent hit.
Anyway, this is good. I'm not floored or anything, but she delivered.

This is amazing and shits all over Fergie's single. It's repetitive as most pop songs, especially in the chorus, but that works in its favour unlike Fergie's single in which I can only tolerate the beat.

It's good, but it's not...impressive I guess?
It does sounds like something from 2010 with The xx vibe at the beginning, and I see the similarities with Burn, but it sounds older than that. They should have written a different bridge though, it adds nothing.

Interesting that half of people are saying it's dated and the other are comparing it to Ellie Goulding's most recent hit. Is that not saying the exact same thing? "Burn" was hella dated. On first listen I think it's decent.

Loving this! So addictive
The C section is a bit out of place but the chorus is amazing.

I agree, the bridge adds nothing. Almost as bad as the bridge in Wind It Up

It reminds me a bit of Te Amo (Rihanna). Or am I weird now No, it reminds me of "Te Amo" as well, plus it reminds me of "Mr. Valentine" by Christina Milian... which was also a "Te Amo" retread now that I think about it. Gwen's single is pleasant, although I think she should've come harder considering her age and the fact her last solo single was released, like, back in 2007.
