I'm surprised it took this long to hit CHR, honestly. The way Radioactive and Demons performed I would have thought anything would have pushed them there. They delayed the adds date, it doesn't actually go for adds there until February 3rd, so it's done quite well to get into the top 50 before that.

A new song called Shots is available on iTunes, and it's pretty damn good. It has a heavy 80's feel to it, and is the most different sounding song they have done. It would make for a big 2nd single in my opinion.

Good Call,dm2081! I wouldn't concider myself a fan of this group, but this song sounds very promising. A little U2 inspiration dosn't hurt at all. maybe I'll check out the rest of the album for some more hidden gems like this one.

This is pretty cool, I dig this. It's got a retro feel to it and it's kinda different for ID.

"Shots" is pretty good, that'd make a great second single.

I actually really like "Gold" now, so I wouldn't mind that either. "Shots" is decent, really different for ID.

Listening to the album now, and just reached this one at track 5. This album is extremely experimental, and so far I like all 5 songs. They're all so different from one another...but holy crap, "I'm So Sorry" sounds just like a Nickelback/TOAD song musically. edit: "Friction" sounds like Justin Timberlake vocally with Robert Delong's musical elements. And "Dream" sounds like a Coldplay song. So far I'm really digging everything about this album Final verdict: Yeah, so this was awesome. I can understand why people hate "I Bet My Life" alot more after hearing the whole album. I would argue that it's still a top 2 song on the album (with "Thief"). I've grown to absolutely love it, but this album was EXTREMELY diverse, and it seems like all 16 songs sound like something a different band would make. "I Bet My Life" was very Mumford & Sons-y, as a few people said in the "Shots" thread. However, I think that regardless of what the lead single was, there would be alot of hate for it on the back of how many people hate each kind of individual sound offered on this album. There is a strong hatred for folk-sounding stuff on this board, which is why IBML is so widely disliked. I still think it's gonna be a huge pop hit and prove all you naysayers wrong. I would also say "Shots" is one of the 3-4 worst songs on the album, although I still like it. Like I said, it doesn't matter what the single choices are, half the board is going to hate each one because they like the subgenre of other songs on the album better. I may have to read some reviews after hearing the album though, because I'm sure I'll get a really good laugh out of some of them. I just feel as if every single reviewer who did this one probably took life way too seriously and shat all over half of the album in a very angry manner, and are super offended by how experimental they were. Only "cool" bands like Tool and NIN are aloud to experiment, not wussy poppy indie pieces of sh1t like Imagine Dragons

This looks like one of the reviews I do for one of the songs or artists I really like, so it's safe to say, you are an Imagine Dragons fan. I respect the fact that you show pride for the group you like. I think Imagine Dragons are a band; who's music one will either love or hate. There is hardly any middle ground when it comes to this band. ex: "It's Time"= I love it. "Radioactive"= I loath it. As for the folk sound. The problem is; there is just too much of it out now. I hate the fact that if one style hit with the audience, then all bands suddenly wanna start producing that style. I also start hating certain songs when thier stay on the chart causes newer songs to die prematurely. Right now a few of those ;way past thier prime, songs, happen to be on the chart...and also just happen to be folky.

"I Bet My Life" is by far the worst song on the album. eh...I think "Smoke and Mirrors", "Trouble", and "Shots" are the weakest.

"Shots" is so generic. I don't know, I'm a diehard Imagine Dragons fan...they've never missed the top 10 on my personal chart haha, but I'm genuinely concerned about "Shots" ruining that streak. I think if they wanted to throw a ballad out there, "It Comes Back To You" woulda been the best choice.
That's not to say "Shots" is bad by any means though...hell it may still grow on me.

I thought "Summer" was the only bad one on the record. "Dream" is one of my favorite songs by them period. "Shots" is in the middle of the pack for me. I don't understand the hate for this though. I think it's really good once you look past the screeching noises.

I actually quite like "Shots". That and "Friction" were standouts upon first listen, but I have to listen to it again admittedly.

"Friction" is my favorite followed by "Shots." "Gold" isn't bad either. I've only heard the album twice so far, so I don't remember which songs seemed weaker than others. I just happened to like the first 2/3 of the album much better than the last third.
