I'm really excited for this! I'm not much for Christmas music, but I have yet to be disappointed with holiday releases from my favorite artists. LBT has sang/recorded Christmas music in the past and their gorgeous harmonies are perfect for it. Can't wait to hear the original songs and their take on the classics.

Same chord pattern as "It's a Heartache" (C-Em-F-G). Just noticed that.

Except I noticed it the first time I heard "Girl Crush", lol Now if only I could figure out what Cole Swindell's "Ain't Worth The Whiskey" reminds me of...I got lucky with "Girl Crush", as "It's A Heartache" came to me right away. But with the Swindell song, it's just been stuck on the tip of my tongue for way too long and it's really bugging me, lol.

Yes, obviously credit goes to you; and only you! :) Ten Pound Hammer will understand! :) PS: I got the Brett Eldredge: "Losy My Mind" / Gnarls Barkley: "Crazy" correct! Will check Cole Swindell.

I just hate it when one song reminds me of another but I can't figure out what the other song is. Fortunately I didn't have that with "Girl Crush" and "It's A Heartache", but with the Cole Swindell song, I just can't for the life of me figure out what other song it reminds me of, and it's been driving me crazy for quite some time now, haha

Am I the only one who is reminded of "I Won't Let Go" by Rascal Flatts when I hear this?

Am I the only one who is reminded of "I Won't Let Go" by Rascal Flatts when I hear this? Apparently not, lol. I too noticed a similarity in the melody, especially when Karen says "whis-per-in'." The syllables align with the "Stand-by-you" and "Help-you-through" from the Rascal Flatts song. It's great to see this doing so well on the charts. Should be a future #1 and possibly one of the biggest hits of the summer.

Does anyone how much digital copies this sold this week? I know it was 11 for the week but not a clue of how much it sold.

Yeah. I was coming back to say I got my answer.
Has sold 713,000 copies so far, Pretty impressive since its not even close to peaking on country radio and if it crosses over to pop, I can't even imagine. Sales are holding steady this week and next week they have the bbma performance. This could honestly be the song of the summer.

I also think this will outsell pontoon, I pontoon is 2x platinum, but this is a going down as a classic country song.

This song has burned on me so quick. It's an instant station changer now. Surely I can't be the only one that feels this way.

I just heard this song on the radio, followed by "Little White Church." I thought that was very interesting! Especially because this is not the first time this has happened. Like two weeks ago I heard "Day Drinking" followed by "Little White Church" at about this same time of night (approx 1am). That's a very interesting coincidence.

Today I caught one of those countdown shows coming home and after playing "Girl Crush," they played "Pontoon" immediately after, but it was part of the show as the DJ said that apparently LBT was this week's recipient of getting two songs played or something. That doesn't sound the same as what you describe here though.

On CT40, Bob Kingsley sometimes after playing an act's current hit on the countdown, will play a song by the same act that was either climbing the chart or was #1 so and so years ago this week.

I can imagine Bob Kingsley saying the following: "Just three years ago this week, Little Big Town was charting with what soon became their first #1 hit, Pontoon." (Starts playing Pontoon).

"Girl Crush" is up five spots on MB this week, from #19 to #14 (+360 spins, +3.2 million in audience).

I've heard WCEN out of Saginaw sometimes play an artist's latest single followed by another song from that same artist. When "I See You" was out, I remember hearing it and "All My Friends Say", of all things, back-to-back.
Also, turns out my sister likes "Girl Crush". Sure, SHE gets it just fine, and mom still hates it β she just thinks that the narrator's thought process makes no sense, and that no woman would ever think like that... I still have no rebuttal to that.

lol there are 3 shows on this list that I could easily go to and they would be all in the same month . I need to not buy any more VIP tickets though, as tempting as it is.

Bummer. No dates in the south-west. I wish Albuquerque were able to draw more acts like LBT.

This song is still kicking ass on iTunes, I thought that Chris Young song might dethrone it this week but I doubt it now. Also wondering how the BBMAs performance will help this, It's basically a whole new audience for it and I think it will do pretty well, Not so sure how much I like it becoming a duet but hoping for the best.
Are they the only country act performing?

I was saying to my bf yesterday, I hope this song gets Grammys so Lori McKenna can have some Grammys to her name.

I actually think faith hill took something from the song, she sang my favorite part that Lori kills, Anyhow glad they got to perform and impressed they were the only country act, let's see if it will help iTunes position, I don' t know. I don't think it will hurt it but can't imagine a big impact.
