I could see a new single out before the spring. Maybe not by the Grammys but shortly after perhaps? In any case, I hope there isn't a long wait between a single and the album it would inevitably lead to. The 3 months between BTW and the album was too long. The month between Hello and 25 was perfect and for someone like Gaga, timing will be important.

They just need to do a clean release like most established acts without the stupid pre-hype stuff and overjumbled jargon like she has in the past several years. Announcement, single then or within a 2 week window, album 2 months after.

I kinda feel like all her momentum from the beginning of the year is gone again, especially since her AHS role hasn't inspired all that much talk. I was afraid that was gonna happen. I really wish she would've had the new material ready to go 6-9 months ago. But the most important thing still is that she kills it with the music next time out, so as long as that happens she should have a decent shot at a big comeback. Funny you said that because Two of my friends who aren't really into GaGa except maybe a song or two are really impressed with her role on "AHS".

Yeah, just because she's not fronting every magazine cover doesn't mean the momentum is gone either. That's ridiculous.

That's the thing with Gaga. Even if she's not as visible now as she was at her peak, she's still a household name because of just how massive her peak was. As long as her new material is hot and her team is 100% behind the project (the latter being the underlying issue for ARTPOP), I see no reason why she can't have a major comeback.

I'd love a single out the first week in January, and I could see her sneaking up on us like that.

She has never been a 'sneaking-up-on-us' kinda artist but hopefully she won't do the whole dragged-out, hyped-up rollout that she did for Born This Way and ARTPOP.

I do agree with this. I was reading the Gaga vs Rihanna star power debate going on in the Anti thread not long ago, and what so many were failing to realize was that while Rihanna has been the bigger star for a few years, Gaga was way bigger at her peak than Rihanna has ever been. Quite frankly, she was bigger at her peak than any artist from the last decade besides Adele has been. If she were to make a comeback I've no doubt her presence would be massive again. She was a megastar once, that doesn't just go away forever with a lull in your career. I mean it could if she doesn't play her cards right, but she still has the potential at least to get back to that. Fingers crossed.

The true test of a star isn't how big they are/were, but if and how they overcome the backlash and slide from their biggest point. She's triumphant so far.

The argument going on in the Anti thread was based on sales figures and pop music impact over the last few years. Gaga's star power rests in the fact that even my 86 year old grandmother living in rural Kansas knows who Lady Gaga is and can recognize Poker Face. Adele is perhaps the only other star in our generation that has had such a powerful cultural impact.

Sounds like another moment for GaGa just like the Academy performance. I can't wait to witness it when the tribute airs.

I hate New York, New York (and I'm a native New Yorker, go figure) but if anyone can make me like it, Gaga is one of the two or three people that could.

The Billboard pics would definitely be a fantastic direction for her look next era. It's a more mature look for her, while still being a bit edgy and classic Gaga.

Not sure her performance has been consistently impressive enough (who am I kidding, the GG are almost always mostly influenced by hype and $$$), but go girl, get two more letters for your EGOT.

I'm happy for Gaga. I think she's one of the most talented pop stars to emerge in a long time. IMO she and Adele are head and shoulders above the rest of the pack (in terms of sheer talent).

Who knows, maybe she'll get an Oscar nod for TIHTY That's what I'm hoping for, though her lack of nom for GG's Original Song isn't a good indicator of that, is it? How similar are the two generally? Anyway, all of these little things (which aren't really that minor really) are all adding up. She's having such a good year!

I don't think they have too much in common. Major titles like "Skyfall" and "Glory" will be nominated for/win both but often times, their nominations and winners are completely different.
