Looks like this is peaking on radio. Drop a Max Martin jam by the end of the year, please and thank you.

This has yet to be released in the UK. Hopefully after this song has had its finished its chart run there (and in Australia), they'll having something some time after that. Perhaps the time they would have spent rehearsing PG for the residency will be better spent on re-grouping and working on a new single instead. I don't really see a reason for PG to be in the show since it hasn't connected to the majority of the public.

I wonder how many songs she has recorded so far. Hopefully she'll spend some time over the summer recording new material.

Based on how Iggy does overseas, I'm guessing this'll do much better in the EU. Better meaning something of a hit, anyway.
Her team doesn't need to rush out a new single or anything anytime soon, though. They need to get their s**t together and map out a good release strategy for the next one, especially if they're bating for a hit to green light the album.

I would take anything from her discography over Boys and Perfume to be performed on the residency. I don't know why she loves Boys so much

It's going to take something special to get Brit back on top....and this is not it....I am amazed at the people who thought it was...No pop star remains relevant on the CHR charts forever...especially with a dated sound...and with probably a one hit album wonder featured as well...she should have worked with a currently charting producer like Calvin Harris or Zedd...give them a feature credit ala We found love.
Toms Diner will do nothing too....especially with Fall out Boys sample earlier this year.

I think there is still a lot of interest in Britney but the recent releases have been awful. Ooh la la, perfume and now this. The exception has been work bitch of course and that radio edit was unlistenable.
Positive note we got that performance we've been waiting tens years for. Best case scenario for me is she come back in late August and releases a single and then performs and kills it. Releases a good song,
I feel bad about this one, it must sting, same for iggy who I actually like

On the one hand, I wish this became a hit just to piss the haters off and prove once again that Brit is still a relevant, chart-topping artist but on the other hand I'm kinda glad it didn't so as she realises she's better than this. Brit is one of the few pop artists I can think of that whenever she's not given songs from her team made to become hits to maintain her hitmaker status and she personally seeks out to the people she wants to work with and records a song she genuinely loves, her intention is never to make a hit song. She's never chased hits whenever she's free to record whatever she wants to so I think it was genuine when she said she personally wanted to team up with Iggy and have this exact sound on the song just to have fun without the intention of scoring a massive hit. That said, I wonder if the next single will be more team-directed or if she'll call the shots once again.

I'm old school, so I'll take Britney over Iggy any day. The video is watch worthy and Britney looks smoking hot with short hair, but the song is a bit too hip hoppy for me. Needs less Iggy and more Charlie a'la "Fancy" style

Eh. I love this song but it's sad its underperforming. I think its better than any of her post Womanizer singles. She seemed so into this song. But doesn't matter. I love this song and even if she doesnt get success anymore, I love getting Britney music.

I wonder how many songs she has recorded so far. Hopefully she'll spend some time over the summer recording new material. Perfume is such a low point of the show and PG would probably be an upgrade but it's still a waste of time. If she manages to get a big hit later on (which is what they'll be aiming for) it's probably going to be put in the show and likely replace PG anyway. Time is just better spent working on recording new material. She does have some time off from mid-September to mid-October, so fall would be fine but she would miss out on the VMA's (8/30), which is huge, missed opportunity to give the single visibility. I don't think she should rush and subsequently release something subpar, but they need to be more efficient. We heard about PG back in the 4th quarter of last year and we only just got it in May. They spent months going back-and-forth w/ Iggy's camp deciding who gets the single and having to change it each time to reflect whose single it is. It boggles my mind that both camps spent so much time and went through so much trouble for this song. It's a total bop and an awesome summer jam but nothing groundbreaking.

Very curious to see where they go from here. I know well get another single over the next few months, but I wonder if they will cancel it for the UK since it didn't really do well. I know it hasn't stopped them before, but she hasn't had but a few hits there over the last several years anyway.
Also, I would love to know how things would have went if Iggy had not been involved; in terms of "would we have even gotten a performance at th BBMAs if this was a solo single?" And things like that. Looking at Brits track record from the past couple albums. They seem so focused on Vegas (and for good reason because it's her prime $ maker rn) that I wonder if their intent is just try to keep the hardcore fans happy by releasing a few new tracks and so they can add something different to the show every now and then.

Trim the intro and outro and this could've/should've been the main version.

Wow that remix is much hotter than the original! I agree, if you trimmed the intro and outro I think this would have done a lot better.

Everyone is talking about how bad the song is, but I don't think that's it. The song isn't a masterpiece, but its a fun summer jam that is extremely catchy. Each year, there are dozens of songs that are much worse yet still chart higher.
When it was originally released, I remember this making a lot of waves through news and social media outlets, so there was clearly interest in the song. I think the problems started with the fact that it was recorded with Iggy (a popular name to hate right now), had a forgettable video, no other substantial marketing strategy, and an unrelatable chorus. Add to that, the public already has a negative stereotype of Britney and this song was only reinforcing what the public dislikes about her image (vapidness, lack of personality, unaccomplished vocals, etc).
The song isn't bad, but it doesn't market Britney in the way she needs to be marketed right now. The radio has clearly left her behind, so her team needs to stop releasing singles that cater exclusively for spins. If she wants to remain relevant as she ages, she needs to convince people that her music has matured with her. I'm sure people will cry ageism, but the fact is that adult audiences (aka the ones buying her music) don't want to listen to a song like Pretty Girls. A Max Martin certified hit might let her scrape by with another top 5 song, but that is shortsighted and not a longterm solution. She needs to find a way to evolve and grow musically.

Needs less Iggy and more Charlie a'la "Fancy" style I have no idea why people think this is hip-hop or whatever hip-hoppy means. This is bubble gum pop all the way through. Mind you nothing wrong with bubble gum pop if you like that sorta thing.

https%3A//soundcloud.com/redsoul/britney-spears-ft-iggy-azelia-pretty-girls-redsoul-remixTrim the intro and outro and this could've/should've been the main version. I like it! Its insane how different production can improve the quality of a song when it doesn't focus on vocals as its selling point. This made me bop more than the original could.
