It will be interesting to see what happens when Nash Icon has multiple singles out at the same time. "Going Out Like That" has gotten as high on the charts as it has largely from the Cumulus stations bumping it into super heavy rotation for the majority of its chart run. I can only guess that would be the strategy with Reba's subsequent singles as well. We can also assume that that will be the strategy once Martina gets a new song out. But does that mean that once Martina releases her lead single, it and whatever Reba has out at the time will have to compete for maximum airplay? Obviously the label will want all of their artists to be successful, so could that result in a "sharing" of spins so that each single gets about the same amount of airplay rather than one getting way more than the other?
I know on regular stations they have multiple songs on heavy rotation at the same time. But Nash Icon is in the unique position of being played only by the Cumulus stations, so they will want their singles to be played as heavily as possible for as long as possible by the stations that play them. I'm just not sure if that will affect the performance of Nash Icon's singles at all once multiple singles are out at the same time. Could any two songs both get as much airplay at the same time as "Going Out Like That" has gotten while being out by itself?

Yeah, that's an intersting thought that I've had as well. Right now, "Going Out Like That" has all of Nash Icon's resources available to it, because it's the only single from them out there. Once others start releasing singles, it will be interesting to see what happens. They did say that not every Nash Icons release will get a radio push (I'd be shocked if Hank Williams Jr. did, and I'm not really expecting Ronnie Dunn to get one, either). Martina probably will though, so it'll be interesting to see what happens when Reba and Martina have a single out at the same time.
As for "Going Out Like That", I would say that things are looking good for a top 30 finish on both charts this week. Billy Currington has turned into a non-issue, and her airplay has held steady (and even seen minimal gains). The weekend could still tell a different story, but right now I feel good about her holding on and reaching the top 30.

I'm confident that the Cumulus block will auto-add any Nash Icon single. That was pretty much the whole point in making the Nash Icon Records label a Cumulus exclusive. I expect that they'll play Martina's single just as much as they'll play Reba, and I think that they'll play Ronnie Dunn as well, mostly because they played Kix Brooks' singles when no other stations were (I know Kix is with Arista, but it's still a similar situation), but also because I know Ronnie still wants to be heard and I don't think he would have gone over to BMLG unless they had said "hey, we can get you on Cumulus".
In short, I don't think other Nash Icon releases will reduce the amount of airplay that's available to Reba's singles. I think all Nash Icon releases (whether there's 3-4 out at a time or only 1) will be treated pretty much the same. We'll have to wait and see, though, as this is obviously a new and unique situation.

Well, looks like she got the top 30 on Mediabase. We'll see tomorrow if she finally does it on Billboard.

Well, looks like she got the top 30 on Mediabase. We'll see tomorrow if she finally does it on Billboard. She should be #29 on both charts. She's #30 on Mediabase today, and should be up a spot when Tyler Farr gets pulled tonight. On Billboard, "Games" goes recurrent, Jake Owen plummets, and I doubt anyone catches her. Outside shot of her being #28 there, but I don't think that Billy Currington lost enough to leave.

"Going Out Like That" finally cracks the MB top 30 at #29 this week. I've got her projecting to land at #29 on tomorrow's Billboard chart as well :) There's a slight chance that Cole Swindell could pass her and hold her to #30, but #29 is more likely. I've got Reba coming in with close to 7.85 million, about 300k ahead of Cole.

I'm glad she's going to finally crack the Top 30. Much as I'd love to see it go even higher, this is about as far as it'll be able to grow, and it's been out for awhile now, so I am ready for them to move on asap.

#29 on both charts this week! Also, she picked up 5 adds, which is her best adds week in quite awhile. I know this is running near the end of its course, but at this point I think that they should just push it up as high as they can. Considering the charts are so competitive right now, there's no guarantee that a second single would do as well (though with the whole Nash Icon thing, that really does remain to be seen).
I wouldn't be entirely disappointed if they gave up and went with something else, but I definitely do see the value in continuing to push this.

Just when I was happy with it breaking the Top 30, it goes and gets a decent number of new adds and makes me think "well, maybe just a little longer..." haha. I'd love to see them move on to the next single, but if there's a chance this could keep moving up, well then I'm all for that then, too.

I know Reba got 5 adds this week but the Cumulus stations have been drilling this song into the ground since January/February. At some point the fatigue and burn rate takes it's tole with that many spins per week, for this long. I still expect "Going Out Like That" to start falling sooner rather than later.

What does everyone think Reba will sing at the CMTs? We've had so many GOLT performances, could it be a new single?

At least 4 of the 5 stations are affiliated with iHeart radio. I know WSIX Fm is 1 of the 3 largest radio stations in Nashville. Do you think the few iHeart radio stations that have added GOLT will be a little quicker about adding the 2nd single to their playlist?

This had one of the best, if not the best, updates in today's Top 50 - +125 spins (the only song to gain over 100) and 306K in audience. Not that I'm not happy about this - I'm very happy about this - but, what brings this on? It's particularly odd given how many other songs, by comparison, look like they've had updates ranging from just so-so to downright terrible. Would the 5 new adds alone be pushing this? (Sadly, the format leaders aren't working for this song at the moment... -_-) The stations that added "Going Out Like That" this week were:
Nashville, TN: WSIX Las Vegas, NV: KWNR Milwaukee, WI: WMIL Norfolk, VA: WUSH Raleigh, NC: WQDR The interesting thing about these is that the first three are all iHeart stations. The other two appear to be localized - WUSH shows an owner as Sinclair Telecable, Inc., while WQDR is owned by Curtis Media Group, which is Raleigh-based and has no ownership outside the state.

The Awards last night were broadcast on all I Heart stations, so that may have something to do with it.

Yeah, I'm sure the award show last night had some contribution to Reba's update today but I don't exactly know how that all worked, in terms of if songs that were performed live in their entirety counted towards the studio version on the MB chart, or if nothing counted and three hours were "MIA" (which I doubt), but some of the updates from Reba, Lady A and Luke make me think that the CMT Music Awards significantly contributed. iHeartMedia stations playing a live version of Reba's song, coupled with Cumulus already spinning the heck out of the studio version, and a 125 spin increase is what you get, lol.

As far as I understand it, a live recording of a song will count towards the song's spin/audience total on Mediabase, but it will not count on Billboard. Basically, live versions are counted by Mediabase, but in order to be counted by Billboard, it must be the studio version with the embedded electronic fingerprint.

Thanks, I forgot about the electronic fingerprint with Billboard's chart credits. I didn't watch the show but I do know there were also some "partially" played songs that are charting and do you know if those counted? I wouldn't think the Nationwide stage would count... This is the only reason I care about that show, now that its effecting the chart, lol.

In other words, for all intents and purposes, the awards show would effectively be a 3-hour blackout as far as Billboard's concerned? Not that we get to see the daily effect on their end anyway...

Probably -- at least on iHeart stations that aired the show, anyway. I don't think there would have been any studio versions of any songs playing, and thus, no electronic fingerprints.
