Additional thoughts.
First heard the song on my HotAC radio. Sounded totally out of place with what's on there now even though my station still does play some 90's alternative. However, I just watched the video. This song will fit right in on the current country format. I don't know about the Rock format because all I can listen to is classic rock but it being Kid Rock I'm guessing Active will give this some spins. I would push it mainly to country if I was his label.

He's not my most hated person or "musician" because he has a diamond album somehow he is because his "music" is the worst on the planet. Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the fact of the matter is this. He has sold over 25 million albums in the US alone, he has a diamond certification post 1995, which is extremely difficult to pull off, and has made music to appeal to fans of 4 different genre groups (rock, country, hip hop, pop). Hell, as much as I like this song I'll admit that there are several Kid Rock songs that I don't really like at all, but given the evidence, to say his music is the worst on the planet, question whether or not it is really "music", and thus imply that he has no talent is just factually incorrect. I would much rather listen to diseases than this, Nickelback, Creed, Limp Bizkit, etc may get a lot of hate and it may be somewhat righteous but this guy deserves all the hate he gets.

I enjoyed songs like "Bawitdaba", "Cowboy", and "So Hott", but songs like "All Summer Long" I just kinda shook my head at.

Goes for Alt adds on February 24th according to FMQB. Can't see it doing much there. This is a pretty Mainstream sounding type of song, whether it be Top 40, Hot AC or Active Rock. In fact, this seems like the song Alt would absolutely despise lol

This needs to f**king die as SOON as possible. No one is more talentless and despicable than this person and hopefully this does nothing like past singles. I'd put Austin Winkler from Hinder above him, but that's about it. As for this song, this is a worse "Born Free". "Born Free" wasn't very good to begin with. "Jackson, Mississippi" is the only song I kinda like from Kid Rock. "Cowboy" and "Bawitdaba" and "Bullgod" have their own charms too I suppose. I HATE "So Hott" and "All Summer Long" and hate the idea of "American Badass".

I don't see this being a hit on Alternative. Kid Rock isn't alternative.

@ jvandyck87 What's with the Austin hatred? R U pissed at him for leaving the band? Haha absolutely not. I just think Hinder is the f**king worst band of my lifetime (out of any band who had a noteworthy level of success) and his voice and his lyrics and his persona all heighten that feeling about his former band. But unless their songs are suddenly better without him, I'm still going to think they suck with him gone.

They really need to release this to country radio--I think it could do very well there. This sounds like the type of song that Kenny Chesney could turn into a big hit (and that's a compliment). I really enjoy this one...I can say that it would easily be among my top 10 favorites at country radio (if it were released there, haha).

I heard this on my local rock station and I'm obsessed with it. The DJ even predicted that it would be Kid Rock's biggest hit of his career. I'd love to see it become a multi-format hit like "All Summer Long".

As much as I appreciate the optimism of that Radio DJ, there's no room for this kind of music on today's pop formats for whatever reason unfortunately. :( It doesn't stand much of a chance anywhere but on active rock IMO

But I agree this isn't gonna make much of an impact on Hot AC or CHR, as much as I want it to.

I'll give Kid Rock credit though, he's the only artist I know who can effectively record a hard rock hit (Forever, Bawitdaba, etc.), a rap-ish hit (Cowboy), and a country/pop smash hit (All Summer Long and Picture). The dude just understands quality music, and doesn't really care about trying to fit into one specific genre.

It would probably take a while to catch on at country radio, but I really think it could become a slow-burning hit if it does indeed get sent there.
I normally prefer more traditional country, but I like some rock-flavored country songs too, and like many of you I think this has multi-format appeal. So I would be more than pleased if this could somehow become a hit on a couple different radio formats, including country.
He didn't cater at all to country radio with his Rebel Soul album, but "Born Free", "Care", and "Collide" from the Born Free album all cracked the top 60 on Billboard Country Airplay ("Born Free" got to #52, "Collide" with Sheryl Crow got to #51, and "Care" with Angaleena Presley got to #58).
The now-defunct label Bigger Picture Group promoted several of his recent singles to country radio, but since the First Kiss album will be his first through Warner Bros. rather than Atlantic, it probably wouldn't be much of a stretch at all to have Warner Music Nashville work this song to country radio.

if all that Country music can enter the Hot 100, than this definately has a good chance as well. It has the Heartland Country Rock sound of Keith Urban. If it doesn't it'll probobly be because the record lable dosn't release it to mainstream pop.

This got 1 add at country today. Will have to check AllAccess tomorrow afternoon to see which station it was. I know it has been getting some airplay at WUBL Atlanta (I believe that's the correct station), but I seem to remember that one officially adding "First Kiss" a week or two ago, which would mean that this latest add is another station. I'm not entirely sure on that, though.

Liking this more with each listen. Seeing that the song has the melody very like Bryan Adams- Summer of 69; Maybe Kid shoulda said like Bryan Adams on the radio, instead of "Tom Petty on the radio"

This is great, hope this hits. Certainly unexpected, I seem to forget about him but every now and then he releases a solid track like this.

The first two songs he's released from the new project are great. This absolutely needs to be pushed to country radio, it would be a huge mistake not to as I think it could be a topv15 hit there. The other song I was referring to was "Jesus and Bocephus", which ironically sounds "to country" for today's country radio.

Bump. (lol, Daryl the Beryl beat me to it, haha!) This goes for adds at country radio on April 27. On Mediabase, it's currently #17 on Active Rock but its bullet is -14. It's #13 on Rock, #29 on HAC, and #37 on AC. For country, it's in light rotation at WYCD Detroit, ad it's also been getting a few spins at WUBL in Atlanta.

since Zac Brown Band got a push in active and this fits in country radio, I hope some more rocking country stuff comes to active. Brantley Gilbert maybe.

Rock radio to country radio crossovers I can see happening (it's happened in the past for the folkier songs on alternative even), vice versa I can't. Only reason Zac is doing so well on active is because Chris' name is attached to it.

Only reason Zac is doing so well on active is because Chris' name is attached to it. I doubt it's just because Chris Cornell is on it as well. ZBB have always had a southern rock sound to them, and have worked with Dave Grohl before. Many rock bands and rock DJ's have publicly said they're huge fans of Zac Brown. This is just the first time they've decided to promote to rock radio. And you'd be surprised, there's quite a few country songs that I think could be worked at Active. "Bottoms Up" by Brantley Gilbert could have been a big hit, and same with Florida Georgia Line's "Stay" (Which is a cover of Black Stone Cherry).
