Never cared for them as a whole, though they had a few good songs ("Keep in Mind," "Best Seat in the House"), but I am not a fan of the name change at all. Their first moniker was always kinda strange to me, but dropping the 'cowboys' and making it all caps has only made it worse for me.
Still curious how this song will sound though, given that they've put out a few good ones.

I'll be interested to see how Reviver does here. This label seemed to form and sign LOCASH kind of under the radar recently and I'll be eager to see exactly how they perform with their artists at country radio.
Chris and Preston I believe do have legit talent. It's just that they seem to either use it ("Best Seat In The House") or not ("C.O.U.N.T.R.Y").

This song is amazingly catchy and current (but not 'bro' to my ears). They co-wrote the song with Chris Janson and Danny Myrick.

There are some 'harder rock elements' but the song in general is very far from "Truck Yeah." It's very digestible and at the very least will be a massive hit on The Highway. A live version:

I just listened to it and it is definitely better than "Truck Yeah, though most anything would be to me. It's catchy but the rockin' sound is what I was fearing. For the record I do enjoy rockin' production sometimes and don't loathe all country songs with a rock element in them, though the past few years I find they are fewer and farther between in terms of me really enjoying them. The lyrics are very "cliche" and unspecific, though the hook line and the lyrics as a whole aren't bro-country (though it comes within shouting distance). I still think they can do better but this is definitely better than "C.O.U.N.T.R.Y" or "Truck Yeah".

Old dirt road: check. Small town: check. Country girl: check. Not picking on these guys, but is there any other metaphors or illusions we can use in country music?

At least they didn't spell their name in some bizarre way like l0*ca$h.
Who would've ever thought that Bomshel of all acts was ahead of the curve on "because poor literacy is kewl!"-type country band names? (Well, I guess there was Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out way before them…)

According to how they word their Facebook page, it's not capitalized. It's "LoCash." PR was vague on this.

^ Personally, I liked LoCash Cowboys better. Given that they don't wear cowboy hats (that often) and make music that's far from cowboy music, it makes sense to rebrand.

I remember when they first came on the scene 6 or 7 years ago or so and people were ruthless about slamming them because of the use "Cowboys" in their artist name - saying how their music wasn't good and were do they get off using "Cowboys" when they were from Indiana and Maryland. Now obviously that criticism was ridiculous and undeserving considering it was just a stage name but perhaps they knew they would want to change their name at some point and this new record deal would be the perfect time to do so. I have met them and I always thought they were super great guys though I don't always enjoy their music.

This is going to be random, not so much about the song but rather about the guys. I vaguely remember these guys being on Tanya Tucker's reality show some years back. I feel like it was called Tuckerville or Tuckertime. I'm not even sure I just remember watching it. But They played some of their music one there as well as helped Tanya's daughter with becoming comfortable with performing. If I remember correctly some of the appearances they were were at Tootsie's as well as Tanya's daughter Presley's birthday party. That was my first experience with them. I feel like they didn't have a deal or anything at the time, they were just friends and made a few appearances on it. But I liked the sound they had on it and searched them out with little success of finding much from them. I have heard some of the songs they've released to radio over the years since then and just haven't enjoyed them as much as the first experience I had with their music. I'm not sure why either!

After falling in love with "Best Seat In The House", this is really disappointing. The vocals in the verses sound weird, and the lyrics are simply a laundry list of every country music cliché. I'm gonna pass on this one.

Just heard these guys on WSM-AM & they have a new Rhett Akins co-penned single coming out called "I Know Somebody". They did a live acoustic version in the studio & it was another slightly Bro-ish R&B tinged train wreck that radio seems to eat up these days. But what I took from it was these guys are just terrible singers.

After hearing hearing this song a few times over the past couple weeks on The Highway, I actually think this isn't that bad of a song, in fact it's grown a bit on me. I don't mind their vocals as much as others and some of the lyrics in the verses are actually stuff I've rarely heard before like "driving across the railroad tracks, if you hit it too quick it'll hit you right back" and "fresh cut field with a first frost on."
That being said I literally zone out when a song mentions stuff like they do in the chorus of this song like "Friday nights" and "dirt road's", lol.
It's fine though. I don't turn the dial when it comes on the radio, though they desperately need more material like the outstanding "Best Seat In The House."

Anybody know why this song went from below #200 on the iTunes country chart to its current ranking in the 70's, all in less than a week? I usually check iTunes once a week or so and this was by far the biggest mover when I looked today. The song is full price too, so that doesn't explain it. I'm guessing either a big boost in airplay from Bobby Bones or The Highway?

Anybody got the playlist for The Highway handy? Yep (see page 8 at this link). LoCash is #19 on SiriusXM's playlist, with 33 spins in each of the last 2 weeks. That link was last updated on Sunday April 26, though, and I had checked iTunes on the 25th, and LoCash wasn't in the top 200 then, so The Highway airplay doesn't seem to be the answer here, unless they've bumped this song up to 50-60 spins this week. Edit: Thanks to that link I realized that you can track The Highway's playlist on AllAccess. www.allaccess.com/mediabase/q/report/playlist/station/X016-FMSo the answer here is, no, it appears that "I Love This Life" has been steady in the 33-35 spins per week range at The Highway for at least the last 3 weeks, including the current week, so that doesn't explain why it's suddenly surged on iTunes in the last 7 days.

Yeah I doubt that. I haven't seen anything online about them or this song, so who knows. I rolled my eyes at their #9 most played song. That's a lot of turning the dial for me, lol.

^ I think it's funny that the like to say the break females in at SiriusXM, but I count just one act featuring a female (LBT) in their top 36 most played! That is ridiculous.

^ I think it's funny that the like to say the break females in at SiriusXM, but I count just one act featuring a female (LBT) in their top 36 most played! That is ridiculous. Honestly, everything about their playlist is ridiculous. If you all don't mind, I'm gonna rant for a second about The Highway. I understand what they do and I respect that they use their broad audience to break new artists that would otherwise not have a fighting chance. They've shown their power by breaking through artists who were first played on The Highway. That being said, I honestly think some of the chart difficulty and clutter can be directly attributed to this station. Too many artists are being introduced and I've never seen such a tough top 60 chart in my time paying attention. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but when you look at how bad some of the songs that are both showing up on the charts and being pushed by The Highway, that signals an issue for me. Quickly looking at their playlist (which they "say" is decided by The Highway Patrol, but if you shove songs down my throat I'm probably going to be more inclined to want to hear those songs as opposed to others that you never play, if I'm a casual listener), some things stand out as irritating. Aside from the crappy songs that really "aren't" country but buddies will say they indeed are, at #10 today sits Chase Rice with "Ride." The only thing worse I can think of than hearing that piece of garbage on The Highway over 5 times a day is hearing it played live. The Highway is obviously pretty far up Sam Hunt's rear as he holds the #1 spot with "House Party" (a song that hasn't even gotten a release date yet at radio). This catchy but One-Direction-esque tune is played almost seven times a day. I realize that is lower than most stations' max spin songs, but for a tune that hasn't even been officially released yet is a little odd. Last time I checked, Sam actually had all three of his singles in the top 50 on The Highway, although it appears "Leave the Night On" has dropped off now. Dallas Smith is still up there for some reason, as "Wastin' Gas" gets a modest 3.5 plays per day, even though he has since released a new single. And the lovely "Doin' Country Ri-i-i-i-ight" by David Fanning is still getting almost 3 plays a day. As you pointed out bigfan101, females are lacking (but this is true of any country playlist, I suppose). Little Big Town is a group in my eyes, even though the wonderful Karen Fairchild leads that song (which, may I point out vaulted 44-3 on their playlist only this week). So the first female act would be down at #34, with Kelsea Ballerini's "Dibs" (apparently her current single has been out too long for The Highway to continue supporting its airplay and sales). The format's two biggest female superstars hold a combined 1 spot on the playlist, as "Little Toy Guns" from Carrie Underwood picks up almost 3 plays a day (2.7). Tied with the aforementioned "Doin' Country Ri-i-i-i-ight". That's a great thought in itself, right? And Ms. Lambert-Shelton is nowhere to be found. The Highway loves Jason Aldean, but how about looking in the top 50 for some of the format's biggest male stars from the past 10 or so years? That's right, it's not only the females who are suffering. Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, George Strait, and Dierks Bentley hold a combined FIVE spots on the top 50 of the playlist (with Chesney, Paisley, and Strait having zero). I'm not quite sure how we can ignore that a song like "Ride" by Chase Rice is being played more than current radio songs from 6 of those 7 artists I mentioned. That's probably it for my rant and I don't even remember what this thread was about so I apologize. I understand The Highway is free to play whatever they want (just as I am free to listen to whatever I want) but I echo the sentiments that their playlist is a joke.
