Really surprised these guys are about to get a Top 10 hit. I never thought they'd ever have a hit anywhere close to that. This song is just kinda "there" for me so I'm not particularly happy about it being such a success, but I do like some of their other songs, so hopefully they'll put out some better music to radio after this that'll actually get played on radio (instead of flopping like "Best Seat in the House").

"I Love This Life" will land at #12 on MB this Sunday, which likely means that this will become LoCash's first top 10 single by the first week of December, at the latest. I gave their EP a listen yesterday and while there's a track or two I don't think are good ("Drunk Drunk"), I really enjoyed "Till The Wheels Fall Off"...that's one of the best songs I've ever heard from them. Yes, "Drunk Drunk" is certainly the least likable song on the EP. It's fine for a live tempo song but if it gets anywhere near radio... Really surprised these guys are about to get a Top 10 hit. "Shipwrecked" and "Til The Wheels Fall Off" come to mind.

I'm actually really enjoying from the EP I Know Somebody. It's once again a lyrical nothing but holy cow can these guys make stuff that's just such an earworm for the chorus.

"Shipwrecked" is the next single and "Till The Wheels Fall Off" is the best song on the EP -- it reminds me of country music from the mid 2000's.

I saw them Friday in Detroit and got to interview them. Great guys. They sang every song off the EP except "Till the Wheels Fall Off", plus "C.O.U.N.T.R.Y", "Truck Yeah", and "You Gonna Fly".
This song still feels like it's getting virtually no airplay around here, though, which is strange for a Top 10er that's been on the charts this long.

I see all it takes is a quick name change, some laundry list lyrics and a rock backing track, and the sin of trying to send country music to "country" radio is forgiven.

"I Love This Life" will be LoCash's first #1 song once "Die A Happy Man" exists the top position ("Gonna Know We Were Here" will be falling once Monday comes around). It leaped "Stay A Little Longer" on Mediabase this week and has increased 250 spins and 1.6 million in audience over the past two days. It still remains to be seen whether or not there will be a split of the charts once LoCash and Brothers Osborne (two male duos, lol) peak but I can safely say this one will be at least a MB #1.

Would anyone have thought this was possible when the single was released?

I hate that Wikipedia considers this song Bro-Country. I will never call it that, I'm calling it Country Rock.

That's a leftover from a very biased editor who seems to share Saving Country Music's opinion that the output of every male in Nashville in the last 3 years is bro. Actually, I wouldn't put it past SCM to find something to bitch about in "Nobody to Blame"...

I just looked at Country Aircheck's non-chart issue this week and Reviver put out a "Max Spins" ad, so it appears that they will push for #1 through next weekend since there's absolutely zero chance they could achieve the #1 this upcoming weekend.

I was expecting to see a "max spins for #1" ad in tonight's Billboard and/or Aircheck issues (I'm aware that there was such an ad in the non-chart issue of Aircheck) but Reviver didn't put one in there tonight.
Still, I think "I Love This Life" is the front-runner for #1 this week, but it'll be interesting to see if Thomas Rhett and Valory try for a 4th week at #1. Thomas leads LoCash by 6.5 million on Billboard, so if they really wanted a 4th week at #1 for "Die A Happy Man", they could probably get it.
My guess though is that Thomas will start a gradual decline this week and Reviver will push LoCash to #1. Then next week EMI will go for #1 with "Stay A Little Longer", which will coincide with the January 15 release of Brothers Osborne's debut album.

I don't think it's too big of a deal since the label already made it known a week ago that they were gunning for #1 this week. Radio is well aware and it's probably the right move with the week after being the Brothers Osborne's album release date and "I Love This Life" being 46 weeks old. Thomas has to start falling though at a reasonable rate for them to get there, though.

This song should be number one. I also think that Thomas Rhett will start falling. Brothers Osborne will also make it to number one. I could see them releasing "Til The Wheels Fall Off" as their second single from the EP.

I'm sure many of us would.

Is that guy Jack Gaines? That guy called the new Cole Swindell song bro-country. See? Exactly what I'm talking about. Dude has a major bias. Oh come on, how is this not bro country? It's a guitar driven rock song with added production effects (don't try and tell me those drums sounded like that in the studio), with lyrics that check off almost every bro country tick box. Small town, yep, country girl, yep, Friday night, yep, dirt road, yep, trucks, yep. Plus for good measure we have the latest trends of meaningless "oh oh"s thrown in randomly and comparing his girl to a drink. Am I supposed to be happy they refrained from adding a line about how he loves her painted on blue jeans? Although they did reference Don Henley instead of Tom Petty, so I guess that's progress... For the record, I am not Jack Gaines on Wikipedia, though I have edited country music articles before.

Artists like twitter posts all the time. I do think "Till The Wheels Fall Off" is the best song on the EP.

I'm sure LoCash will consider releasing "Til The Wheels Fall Off". "Shipwrecked" has that EDM sound that I'm not very fond of. Although I like EDM, I think it just doesn't belong in Country music.

That'd surprise me about "Shipwrecked" being single. Though I'm all for it, the trend I'd heard around town was it was likely moved to #3 with "I Know Somebody" sliding to #2. But really, that's like six of one, half a dozen of the other, choice wise. Both are massive hits. "wheels" is likely not a single.

I'm confused by the add tonight. LoCash's add make it sound like a thank you add in a way. I still think this song has plenty of life in it to hit the top but I was left kinda confused.

I'm quite surprised that this is [apparently] done. I guess Reviver did go all-in this past week (and didn't come close, due to Thomas' mammoth hit and Jason's refusal to relinquish the #2 spot), but I guess I was thinking that they were just requesting stations to "power up" and that they'd go for max spins this week, sort of like what Jana Kramer's team is doing. But now that I think about it a bit more, it makes sense. Reviver is a new label and they probably don't have the resources to keep this going for another week, even though it looks like they're next in line for the #1 spot. The problem is that "Die A Happy Man" is just too strong -- it finished a full 5 million ahead of "I Love This Life" on tonight's Billboard chart. If Thomas stays fairly steady/level this week, that gap will be too big for LoCash to close. Normally the #1 song would start dropping and the #2 or #3 song would close the gap in just a couple days, but DAHM is just a huge hit.
I now think Thomas will get a 5th week at #1, even if he starts to drop a bit. I think Jason will probably start to fall as well, but even if he doesn't, I doubt BBR can muster enough strength to get GKWWH to #1 -- that one's been in high rotation for way too long and I'm sure radio is chomping at the bit to drop it in rotation. So yeah, I think Thomas will get one more week at the top, and then we'll probably see a string of UMG songs at the top, starting with Brothers Osborne's "Stay A Little Longer" (going #1 two weeks from now) and followed by Sam's "Break Up In A Small Town" and Luke's "Home Alone Tonight".
