Jake said "Music" will be the first track on the album. But will it be Country? Tune in later folks! From what Jake described it like? Doubtful.

Two of the tracks on Jake Owen's upcoming album, according to his interview on The Highway. "LA-X" "Music" No really, those are actual titles. Jake said "Music" will be the first track on the album. First title sounds like an airport song and the second is the same name of a Madonna single that became her last #1 Hot 100 hit in 2000.

Gary Allan says his album will be out in the late summer or fall (during CRS, though it's extremely doubtful it's by the late summer), which means that a new single is coming shortly. I still would have to think they go with "Mess Me Up", which was written by Ross Copperman, Shane McAnally and Ashley Gorley - should have been the lead single, IMO. I've heard a few songs from the new album and I think "Hangover Tonight" was a mistake, granted hind sight is 20/20.
When I saw Gary live in late May, he said the album would be out by the fall, though he admitted he wasn't sure based on the under performance of "Hangover Tonight."

Especially with the tide feeling like it's heading ever so slightly to what he does. I still think not releasing the song "Rubberband" itself was a missed opportunity. He also plays as a session musician on Kacey's album.

I haven't followed much about Luke's new album, but was there even a hint that Karen would be the surprise collaborator? Interesting pair, it'll be fun to hear that one. Not too thrilled about this album, in general. Tailgates and Tanlines will always be better than Crash My Party...for me. Crash My Party was just okay, with the outstanding exceptions of "Roller Coaster," and "Drink A Beer."

Generally not a Luke Bryan fan, but I'll have to check out that song with Karen.

Some of the titles on Luke Bryan's forthcoming album sound semi-promising, and I like the idea of a collaboration with Karen Fairchild. Will be interested to see if the claims of the record being more "country" hold true.

4. Home Alone Tonight (feat. Karen Fairchild)(Jody Stevens, Cole Taylor, Jaida Dreyer and Tommy Cecil) A duet with Karen Fairchild, and it was co-written by Jaida Dreyer? I'm definitely interested in hearing that one. There's probably a good chance they're already thinking "single", since Luke and LBT are Capitol label-mates.

Chuck Wicks announced he will release a new album called Turning Point. From CountryMusicRocks: I expect a new single from Chuck in the next couple weeks. Chuck's twitter has the album drop date set for September 18th.

Surprised the Peach Pickers and Cole Swindell really only got one song each. Excited to hear that Michael Carter penned song. From "Roller Coaster" alone, I think he's got something going with the writing thing.

Not too thrilled about this album, in general. Tailgates and Tanlines will always be better than Crash My Party...for me. Crash My Party was just okay, with the outstanding exceptions of "Roller Coaster," and "Drink A Beer." Hints were dropped about Karen Fairchild being the surprise collaborator a month ago (during CMA Fest week). I even posted about it. ;) So excited about the new Luke album. The songwriters look very promising. "Fast" will be a single according to Luke (I'm guessing 3rd single like "Drink A Beer"). Second single will probably be "Home Alone Tonight" (the superstar duet). Some radio DJ has already heard it and had high praise ("The duet with Karen is pure amazingness... And if you don't like Kick The Dust Up don't worry, the album is diverse.") I'm hoping "Kick" will be #1 ASAP so that we're finally done with that and onto the meaty material of the album. Would love for 2nd single to be released on August 7th to coincide with the album release to drive up the album sales.

Is next week the first week that new releases are on Fridays? This week is. The global release date will switch to Friday beginning on July 10. There aren't any major country album releases until Alan Jackson's on the 17th, though.

Jewel will be releasing her next album, due in September, through Sugar Hill records.
TRACKLIST (no title yet):
1. Love Used To Be
2. A Boy Needs A Bike
3. Everything Breaks
4. Family Tree
5. It Doesn't Hurt Right Now
6. His Pleasure Is My Pain
7. Here When Gone
8. The Shape Of You
9. Plain Jane
10. Pretty Face Fool
11. Nicotine Love
12. Carnivore
13. My Fathers Daughter
14. Mercy
I looked for an indie label to partner with and eventually formed a partnership with Sugar Hill Records, a blue-grass label. They are lovely and committed to helping me put out a singer-songwriter record at the height of a market that is saturated with slick and upbeat songs on the pop and country side. Once again, I’m hoping that earnest and sincere can break through, though I am keenly aware that the work it takes to do so will be limited on my part because my first job is to be a mom and to be there for Kase.
