I hope Garth Brooks' new album in the fall will have more single songs to chose from. I hope the single does better than "People Loving People". If only Garth would turn to itunes but we know that may not happen. Maybe if he was somehow convinced by Randy Goodman.

Because releasing your debut against the giant of the genre is always a great idea. .. Actually it's not a bad idea at all. Michael Ray's album isn't likely to sell much, but this could increase its sales a bit, especially if casual country fans that buy Luke's album decide to buy another album or two while they're at the store or browsing through iTunes. Michael's album will probably have a sticker saying "featuring the hit 'Kiss You In The Morning'" and because of Luke's release there will be a higher amount of people browsing the country albums section. That could be enough to boost sales a bit more than if Michael were to release his album on a day when there were no other major releases.

Jewel will be releasing her next album, due in September, through Sugar Hill records. TRACKLIST (no title yet): 1. Love Used To Be 2. A Boy Needs A Bike 3. Everything Breaks 4. Family Tree 5. It Doesn't Hurt Right Now 6. His Pleasure Is My Pain 7. Here When Gone 8. The Shape Of You 9. Plain Jane 10. Pretty Face Fool 11. Nicotine Love 12. Carnivore 13. My Fathers Daughter 14. Mercy I looked for an indie label to partner with and eventually formed a partnership with Sugar Hill Records, a blue-grass label. They are lovely and committed to helping me put out a singer-songwriter record at the height of a market that is saturated with slick and upbeat songs on the pop and country side. Once again, I’m hoping that earnest and sincere can break through, though I am keenly aware that the work it takes to do so will be limited on my part because my first job is to be a mom and to be there for Kase. Awesome. Carnivore finally has a home. One of my most anticipated albums....

Why does Country music have the most boring album covers? I'm a big Rhett fan, but c'mon, there's nothing going on in that picture. Is it asking that much to have a concept behind your album cover?

Tyler Farr recent one was just weird lol. Some are good though. I liked Stapletons cover.

That's not even the worst one this year. Gloriana's Three takes the cake by far. I mean at least the other covers have the artists. Gloriana's album cover is a hot mess of nothing like what's the cover supposed to mean. No wonder it basically sold nothing. I'm not gonna lie Tyler's cover was very creative and the ZBB is also solid. Probably my favorite was Reba cause the lighting was great.

A lot of Alt/Americana/Texas Country album covers are actually pretty cool, it's just the mainstream that's lackluster with covers.

If there was an album cover from a mainstream act that I've liked the last few years would be Sara Evans last album and I don't know why but I really liked Jana Kramer's last album cover. But even if she's moved to pop I've found Taylor Swift's album cover's cool. Oh and defintly queen Carrie's covers. Most boring for me is like Cole Swindell album or like Lady A's Golden.

Because simple works best? As long as the font is simple and clean, it's fine by me. Cool, artistic album art (like William Clark Green in Texas for example) is rare and an expensive thing to undertake, especially in an era when albums aren't really selling.

Hey now, I kind of like the holes in Shania's shirt. But, she's my favorite...so I am biased. Lol! But, the simplicity of her album covers has always kind of bugged me. The Come On Over album in particular (1997 version) looks like they used Word Art and slapped the text on the photo. I am hoping when the new album comes out, that the design team can step up their game. The Still The One live album cover, actually isn't that bad, IMO.

Hmm, Jason Aldean is already back in the studio for album #7. Does anyone know if this is odd?

At least the ones on Shania's cover are actual holes and even though I wouldn't say I'm crazy about the cover of Up! or anything, Shania exudes sexiness whereas Thomas Rhett just tries, and way too hard at that, imo.

Glad to see Toby Keith's album finally has what seems to be a definitive release date. Wish it were a little closer, as I imagine "35 MPH Town" (the song) will probably not being doing much more than it has thus far, sadly. Though I suppose a Q4 release is probably just as well for someone like Toby Keith anyway.

Toby sent out an email earlier today to his email list confirming it too. So it'd be a surprise if he backs down now.
