Thanks for the plug! I almost forgot about that thread and I'll definitely revive it for major singles sales and Google's major album deals.

Yes, I used the sale (+ the amazing Playlist freebies) to replace several physical CDs. Also, with Hits latest building sales chart we can finally see the impact as several of those albums moved significant units to chart. Plus if you use chrome for downloading - it's unlimited. I can see why last week's sale is bridging over a second week.

Yeah- I was surprised the sale carried over another week. I think it may have started prior to last Friday, even, as, for instance, The Immaculate Collection saw a decent boost for the Jan. 23 chart (ranking 128 in album sales). Speakinbg of TIC- I wonder why the digital version has that alternate version of LS, and the album version of "Borderline" (and labels "La Isla Bonita" as a remix when it's the version from TIC).

I noticed that when iTunes first gain traction with the first two tracks years ago. They also had a longer version of LAP, but that's switched. What I don't get is calling "Borderline (Remix)" when it's the album version, version the TIC version of single remix was on the original. Although I suppose everything, except for JML and RM, on the original TIC could be slapped with "Remix"

Ha yes, even though for most of the tracks, it's subtle differences casual fans wouldn't really pick up on. And the "Borderline" labeling is an oddity, for sure.

Funny you say that, because for me, it tells me the ones contained in Deluxe and Wembley Edition are $1.29, but the one in the normal album is $.49. Anyone know if there are any of 49 cent songs floating around?
As a note, I am on the U.S. store. Maybe TOL being free is regional.

It's free in Canada. Also, 679 by Fetty Wap, The Sound of Silence by Disturbed, and Adventure of a Lifetime by Coldplay are all $0.49 here.
In addition, Want to Want Me by Jason Derulo, Where Are U Now by Skrillex & Diplo, and See You Again by Wiz Khalifa are $0.10.

I am in Canada and it is free for that particular version. Like I see See You Again (the single version)by Wiz Khalifa feat. Charlie Puth is 10 cents for us right now.

The 99-cent greatest-hits (and more) albums sale at Google Play is over (three weeks or so, it lasted). This week, Coldplay's latest is 99 cents, just in time for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Bruno Mars' Unorthodox Jukebox is $1.99. Just a couple highlights.
By the way- maybe the thread title should be changed to reflect not only free music, but notably discounted music, as well?
