Just wondering, what would you guys feel if Mountain At My Gates was going at 60+ weeks? Good question. I personally got into the song late and I'm still jamming the song now so it still feels fresh to me. Im guessing by the 60th week I would be clamoring for a new single. It's never songs I like that end up spending this long on the chart, at least recently(Renegades, Stolen Dance)

Ah, well my chart shouldn't really be something to compare to since I have 4 songs over a year (1 over 4 years lol) and another about to hit 52 weeks. I tend to have a hard time letting go lol.

Lmfao @ CWK trolling the charts. Awesome.
Once I like a song I always do, even if I get a little tired of hearing it. Would definitely prefer to hear something fresh on the radio by them but whatever good for them.

Just wondering, what would you guys feel if Mountain At My Gates was going at 60+ weeks? Songs like "1901" and "Dangerous" are classics, but that still doesn't mean they need to spend over a year on the chart.

We could get this out soon. KONGOS will pass this in a few days time, and CTE probably next week. Then there's River (which had its biggest bullet on today's update), which has been picking up recently and selling very well (good indicator of a huge hit on alt), and then our backup is Soundcheck, which should pass it soon if it keeps up its recent updates. The next songs to fall below First are Ride and Spirits, and unless they bleed in spins, should stay above First in the next few weeks.
1239 spins behind Ophelia (=) 1053 spins behind Bored to Death (+20) 970 spins behind Dark Necessities (+32) 888 spins behind Spirits (=) 848 spins behind Ride (-7) 527 spins behind HandClap (+50) 495 spins behind Way Down We Go (+49)
42 spins ahead of Take It from Me (-55) 260 spins ahead of Trouble (-42) 322 spins ahead of Soundcheck (-38) 372 spins ahead of 2am (-18) 468 spins ahead of River (-67) 599 spins ahead of Brazil (-18) 693 spins ahead of Something to Believe in (-34) 695 spins ahead of Destruction (-1) 721 spins ahead of Circadian Rhythm (-32)

This isn't going to break Rise Against's record. Bishop will pass this either this week or next week, KONGOS, Fitz, Kaleo and CTE should still move up, and Strumbellas, 21p and Ophelia are still 700+ spins away.

Rise Against is 65 weeks, and this is at 63 weeks, right? I want it to at least tie it.

Good run though, will post an updated graph from the graph I posted a few months back again after it goes recurrent on Billboard (they're still at #8 there because BB has more stations playing songs that've peaked/less stations playing more current songs).

One thing both songs have in common - they're far from being the artist's best.

BB should give this the boot next week, since they have Bishop only 160 spins behind this (FWIW, that's 6 spins less than the gap on MB as of the Wednesday update). Also helps that they end their tracking week one day later than Mediabase, so the gap between this and Bishop, as well as that between this and KONGOS will continue to shrink (and widen after they pass this) ETA1: First lost only 3 spins on MB for Thursday's update, and Bishop gained only 14, so I guess, we'll have another week of "First". Either way, let's 'enjoy' First's last two weeks on the charts. ETA2: First lost 37 spins on Friday's update, so plan A could still work.

One thing both songs have in common - they're far from being the artist's best. While I agree that 'First' definitely isn't their best song ever, and I have certainly been fatigued by it just like everybody else has, this is still what I said it was a year ago: just a really good fucking song.

The gap between River and First dropped by 70 spins on today's update, as the former gained 33 spins and the latter lost 37 spins (it's biggest spin loss since the February 14 update I believe, excluding the days affected by Memorial Day).
Next mission after we get this out this week or the week after is to get "Stressed Out" out of Billboard Alternative chart (where it's still at #14).

Just 43 spins left. Tomorrow's update will decide whether First gets to spend an extra week (which will also be it's last), or be sent to recurrent land tomorrow night.

RISE AGAINST LIVES.
I don't hate you, First, but I just wanna save you from breaking the record.

Is it also likely that Billboard will send this recurrent even if it remains above River's spin count tomorrow? You know, because of First's significant negative bullet and River's positive bullet.

Billboard's tracking week ends one day later than MB so River could pass this there

It's a total conspiracy. The Alt charts want "First" to be the FIRST song on the list of longest chart running songs on the Alternative charts.

They managed to edge Bishop by 2 spins today, so they'll stay for another week (unless panel changes favor Bishop). This will be it's last week on the Mediabase chart as The Strumbellas are still too far behind to drop below this. A "Stolen Dance" situation will NOT happen whereby it falls below #10, then goes back to #10.
Bishop will still pass this tomorrow, so Billboard could still send this out on Tuesday morning.
Anyway, Rise Against's record will remain intact.

I started my internet station last year and this song has been in the top 20 longer than it's existed. Good riddance.

It's refreshing to see this song finally about to leave the chart, but I wish it was something other than "River" that was going to knock it out. "Soundcheck" would've been a far better song to go Top 10 at this one's expense.

This should stay until Sunday, and the complaints about this should cease after that. Nice run.

There's no way it's going back to #10 unless they 'payola' this. The next song to fall below this is Spirits which is over 700+ spins ahead of this. Bishop, KONGOS and CTE will continue to move up. This is going recurrent on Sunday.
