It has roughly a month left before I start to go berserk about it.

This is the last leg of their tour for Hold My Home before they "stick a fork" in when the tour is done in October. It has to leave soon if we get a third single, but my guess is no honestly.

If this song is still on the chart when my B-Day comes around; I'm headed for the mediabase head quarters with a lynch mob. Anyone else wanna come along for the ride?

I will pay radio stations to stop playing this. That is called A Postive kind of payola. Put me down for 20 bucks.

The worst thing is that America still wants to listen to this as the callout scores for this are still good; highest positive, net positive and favorite and lowest negative (it has the second heaviest burn rate though, behind "Gone")

A third single would be killed by the massive airplay this song is still receiving.
In other news, this is stabilising again, but I'm honestly hopeful that this doesn't beat RA's record (it's 50/50 chance it does not, provided Kiss This and Woman Woman stay afloat for at least one more month and KONGOS, Catfish, Cage and maybe Bishop move faster or at their current paces). Let's hope it goes down again.

Yeah a third single is just going to get shafted by this.

I've been changing the station for the last 2-3 months whenever this comes on 104.3 The Shark because like everyone else, I got tired of hearing it hundreds of times. However, I left it on today and realized "This song is pretty damn good. It's nice hearing it again. Now let's give it another rest for another 2-3 months."

AWOLNATION's Woman Woman is finished, so this is going to move back to #9. Ugh.
Only if Empire of the Sun didn't collapse this would've been sent recurrent last Sunday...

What an incredibly mediocre and forgettable song to be on the chart for so long. I keep forgetting it exists and am baffled by its massive success.

And on the flip side, I still love it as much as I did when I first heard it a year ago. Funny that!

Seriously, there needs to be a limit to how long radio stations can keep a song in mid/high rotation, without regards to audience impressions. I mean, any song spending over a year on a chart is just ridiculous. Not only does it make the chart look old and decrepit, it blocks out room for newer songs (as Daryl the Beryl has said before). That said, this is definitely one of the more mediocre songs to spend THIS long on the chart. I mean, come on. There's literally nothing special about it at all; it's just a run-of-the-mill indie rock song. EDIT: This could actually go back up to #8. "Kiss This" seems to be done as well, since it's not recovering from Memorial Day. >

Just wondering, what would you guys feel if Mountain At My Gates was going at 60+ weeks? That's one of Alt's best songs this year. I'm guessing I really wouldn't have a problem with it, since I never complained about "Out Of My Leagues" and "Pompeii"'s endless weeks on the Alt chart. We all tend to keep our favorites on the charts for many weeks. You actually have "Mountain At My Gates" going on 40+ on your chart. I had "Molecules" on for 40+ as well . Then you have James; who's Safetysuit song will probably never leave his chart? I guess "First" is Alt's favorite song this last two years.
