Meh...I didn't much care for this one the first time I heard it and that hasn't really changed.
My choices would have been "Just Gettin' Started" (although we knew that wouldn't happen after Jason Aldean's release of a different song with the same name), "Gonna", or "Bringing Back The Sunshine".
On a bright note, at least they didn't release "Buzzin'" (yet...)

Perfect release for the summer, and Blake's best song since "Honey Bee" IMO. The chorus is written extremely well and Blake's vocals are ultra smooth during it. I think this could end up being the biggest song off the Bringing Back The Sunshine album. It's already one of my favorite singles of the year. This song will be played at beach bars and at Margaritaville themed stores for years to come.

I liked this one when I first heard it. And this time of year it should be perfect.

Blake is 3/3 for me so far this album. This is probably in my top 3 singles of Blake's career. I'm gonna love hearing this on the radio when the weather warms up a bit.

This is a really good choice. Like others have said, I think Blake is really picking the right singles this time around, after some questionable choices the last couple of albums. (Well, questionable in terms of me not thinking they're the best songs....clearly he and the label know what they're doing, with the massive #1 streak they have going right now).

Perfect song to release from the album, and the perfect time of the year to release it. Here comes another smash.

I too am very surprised they did not go with "Buzzin" (but relieved). "Sangria" sounds great, with a classic feel to it. Maybe the most traditional sounding song he's put out since "Goodbye Time". I like the Southwestern, Brooks & Dunn feel to the song, lyrically and instrumentally. It feels like it could fit right in on B&D'd Borderline album from 1996.
Anywho, if they could follow this up with "Just South Of Heaven", that would be great. Maybe cap the album era off with "Good Country Song" or "Gonna". I consider this a rebound for Blake (not commercially, just considering the blandness that was BOATS singles)

I was hoping for Just South of Heaven for the third single. Hopefully that one is next. That said, I think this is a good choice going into summer.

Good single choice. This will smash. Two Blake singles in a row that I do like! :) Unsure about the lyrics, though. Could be Jason Aldean for what it's worth. "Only thing I want to do tonight is drink you like a Spanish wine" #OMG! How poetic and subtle! ROFL

Sangria will be another number one hit for Blake, guaranteed. I really love his new album. I agree that these songs sound more like Startin' Fires and Pure B.S.

I agree with a lot of people that the timing of this single release is perfect, especially with the winter some people have had throughout the U.S. With how hot Blake has been on radio lately, the timing may make "Sangria" a lock to be his 20th #1.
I also agree with some that this is not the best song to choose and I personally would have chosen "Bringing Back the Sunshine" over "Sangria" but probably only because of the irony in the title as that's what spring is doing!
Blake's current album is probably his best as most of the songs could be #1 hits on the radio and they just all sound good together.

Sangria video coming this week sometime.. It already up for voting on CMT You can stream the video exclusively on vessel.com right now (you have to create an account by using your email address, but it's free--they don't ask for anything other than your email), so I'm sure the video will be on other platforms (CMT, YouTube/Vevo) in the coming days. During the 2nd verse, well, let's just say that the couple gets a bit more undressed than I expected for a music video.. Overall the video was pretty simple and straightforward. Blake standing/singing in this bar/hotel, and a good-looking couple drinking sangria and then heading to their hotel room. In a perfect world Blake and everybody involved in the video would have gone down to some beachfront hotel down in Mexico or something--that's the picture I had in my mind anyway. As it is, all the shots are of inside the hotel and nothing from outside. In my mind I was imagining a straw hut bar on the beach, with white lights strung up in a palm tree, and the "scene" from the first verse taking place just after the sun had gone down over the ocean. Anyway, it's a simple but still pleasant video, and I just love this song. One of my all-time favorite Blake Shelton singles. I can't pinpoint exactly what it is that makes me love this song so much, but just the imagery in the first verse, and the way Blake sings lines like "string of white lights makin' your eyes shine tonight"...I love it! This song just has that JT Harding feel to it that I really love.

Going out on a limb here, but Sangria will be the biggest mover on the chart next week. Either a #60 to #45 move or a #60 to #40 move.

It could move into the top 50 or close to it, but "Sangria" doesn't get sent to radio until March 30. Some stations are obviously already playing it but not enough of them to move it that far up the chart. I'd expect Aldean's new one to be the biggest mover of the week. It got over 60 adds last week so it should move up big time from #54, possibly all the way into the top 40.

Terrible video. Why is the girl bathing in her own period blood?

Terrible video. Why is the girl bathing in her own period blood? That's gross. It's sangria. The name of the song. If you were being sarcastic, I am sorry, the grossness in the comment made me miss it.

Officially sent to radio this afternoon. Another creative single cover from Blake, lol. Simple seems to be the best approach when you're him though.

In addition to his #1 streak, I just found out that Blake Shelton also has a consecutive streak of 9 singles that spent no more than 20 weeks on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. That, in my opinion, is a great feat. Will this make it ten-in-a-row? The songs are listed below.
Drink On It: 19 weeks Over: 19 weeks Sure Be Cool If You Did: 15 weeks Boys 'Round Here: 14 weeks Mine Would Be You: 20 weeks Doin' What She Likes: 17 weeks My Eyes: 14 weeks Neon Light: 14 weeks Lonely Tonight: 18 weeks

"Sangria" is most added on MB this week (shocker, I know) with 69 first week adds.
