This does nothing for me, I love Brett's voice but this is just boring. I hope he's got some stronger material on the album cause this is a disappointment.

This is mildly catchy, but I just can't get past the "double is" twice in the bridge,
I feel the walls closing in inside this padded room Only good thing about it is is I’m locked in here with you, yeah I’m always watching you, wondering what you’ll do next But my favorite part about it is is I always have to guess (you know I do)
I'm not too nit-picky with lyrics usually, as I'm sure anyone will know when they see how many bro-country songs have made my monthly favorite rankings, lol, but whenever I hear this, I wonder whether the writers realized/intended for the lyrics to sound this way. If they did intend to do this, I don't understand why, and if they didn't intend to do this, I don't understand how no one caught this "mistake."

"Illinois" is now available for download, and I must say it's easily the best song I've heard from the previews so far. I think it'd make a good single, but I'm sure we will get "Fire" next.

Wow, that may easily be the best song I've heard from Brett Eldredge in general. I would love for him to release that next as a change of pace. I think "Fire" is just as bland and generic as "Lose My Mind". Maybe there's a chance since it's the title track.

"Lose it All" is available on iTunes and it's really good too. I think I like it the best of what I've heard thus far...it was one of his "Couch Sessions" songs too.

They released "Wanna Be That Song" today. That's a damn good song. Like it a lot.

Yes and a handful of them sound really bad. Like a lot of drum loops and keyboards. His debut album was soo fresh sounding. I agree "wanna be that song" is a great song , but man a little slow steady steel guitar maybe a fiddle line or too would take it to upper echelon. Years from now we'll look back on a lot of good country songs plaqued by horrible production.

I had wondered about the thing with Gnarls Barkley early on when I first heard the song. This song in general is pretty unoriginal to me. If I were KT Tunstall (Black Horse and Cherry Tree) I think I would be getting in line for a cowrite credit too. It sounds like a bunch of pieces of other songs stitched together. I'm not hating on Brett. I really liked "Don't Ya" and "Mean to Me".

This song is not good. No melody, terrible vocals, weak lyrics, no flow. Try again, Mr. Eldredge I personally wouldn't say it is THAT bad, but yeah it's definitely not one of my favorites either. I think it's catchy, but the song (esp. the verses) isn't well-written enough to fully pull me in. It's one of those songs that is just there, and doesn't really do much for me. I consider it a radio "filler" song, along with "Crash And Burn".

I'm kind of surprised given the revolving door model of the charts, but this is looking like a Mediabase-only #1 at best. Brett's still maintaining his lead over Kenny on the Mediabase chart, but "Save It for a Rainy Day" has absolutely left "Lose My Mind" in its dust over on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and Kenny continues to pull farther away from Brett in audience daily. There's no way Brett's getting back ahead of Kenny on Billboard, and I don't know if Warner can afford to try to wait for Kenny to finish at #1 before pushing Brett. Given the friendly relationship Warner and Sony have maintained over the past few years, I think Kenny's team will try to play nice here and let Brett have his Mediabase-only #1 (presumably the weekend of October 3-4). However, if Kenny gets too far ahead on Mediabase before Brett's final push week, which is certainly a possibility, I wonder if Brett will get stuck at #2 on both charts here.
"Save It for a Rainy Day" has turned out to be a much bigger hit than I'd expected. It's selling pretty decently for a fourth single (better than the past two singles) and it's easily getting warmer radio reception than "Wild Child," which stalled a bit in the Top 15. I figured it would go to #1 since it's a classic Kenny Chesney single, but SIFARD may end up being one of the more memorable hits of the latter part of Kenny's career, especially if it gets multiple weeks at #1 on the charts.

I obviously can't dig up the "Mean To Me" thread so I'll stick this here. I was listening to CT40 this morning and after Bob Kingsley played "Lose My Mind", he played a sound bite of Brett discussing how he wrote "Mean To Me" with Scooter Carusoe. During the clip, he said how he purposely kept the title short ("Mean To Me"). Brett said he could have made it more straight forward by titling it "What You Mean To Me" but he wanted the listener to think about what the song could be about. So I was right in my discussion with .indulgecountry in the "Mean To Me" thread, lol. :)

I am very late on this song. It is great. I don't really understand (after many tries of others to explain it to me) how someone can tell what exactly is 'production' in a song, but I don't hear anything messy about this song lol If I am right, this one is at 2 on Mediabase, right? I don't understand how I never even read Brett's name or the song's name when checking charts... yeah, whatever. The fact is that after listening to the song in the context of the album, it has become my favorite song on it :)
Yes, the lyrics are weak, but I usually never pay attention to lyrics, focusing much more on music and delivery of the vocals. I want to think this is locked to get to number one next week or so, and if so, that will be awesome!

Yes, it does appear that Brett will squeak out a full #1 this week, I'm glad he was able to ride it out while Kenny dominated the charts.

Has there been any word of what the next single is going to be?

I never got into this song either; it just didn't grab me at all.
