Curious ... has Adele made an appearance yet? Nope, so she either didn't make it at all or she's in the top 3!

Very interesting. Fresh after 4 Top 10 hits from her original debut, it was surprising that 'Bad Romance' didn't quite make it to the top of the Hot 100 (though it made Number 1 nearly everywhere else). A shame for a track that oozed retro, and yet was ahead of its time in many ways. Definitely a career-defining single. Sadly, there will never be another Amy. While 'Rehab' is a stand-out track, her outstanding vocals on 'Valerie' might just be forever etched in the minds of many. A curious choice from the Voice that inspired a generation of millennial divas. Check out Sam Smith's cover. But, yes... it seems that we lose some of the very best way too soon. While many of us were introduced to her only after the Grammy win, Bonnie's output is not only underrated, but she's got to be one of the hardest working musicians in the business. And that's not counting her tireless efforts for political causes. Attachment Deleted

THE TOP 3 We have come to the end of the countdown. Below are the three songs that most give me life. I love them so. :'(
#3 - Love Shack The B-52s | 1989 | Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin roof! Rusted!Oh, no! Don't roll your eyes at me - I know you smiled when you saw this selection! I believe this is the first song I ever stanned for, at least according to my family. I may have only been two, but I knew transformative party music when I heard it, and I would dance and hum along with this song when my brother would play it. There's video proof which no one will ever see and has been burned of my dancing abilities at this age, so I can't deny that this song started me on the way to a life of musical obsessiveness. Also, it should have told everyone just how gay I was. The B-52 were over a decade into their career when this campy, goofy party boat of a song flew up the charts. The video captured a sunny goofiness and a young RuPaul. With Fred Schneider's uber-gay delivery and the sinfully delicious harmonies of Cindy Wilson and Kate Pierson, this song brought a vibrant, colorful end to the 1980s.
#2 - Rolling in the Deep - Adele | 2011 | We could have had it all.Adele first caught my attention on Ugly Betty of all places. She had a cameo and did her song "Right as Rain." It debuted on my chart, moving to #3 in 2009, and that was that. I never expected that her next release would dominate my chart in a way that it never will again. Debuting at #3 in March of 2011, Rolling in the Deep would go on to spend half a year in the top 10. Adele wouldn't leave the top 3 until September of 2012. Once her label stopped releasing singles, I "released" singles of my own. An instant classic, Adele's break-up album was heartfelt and a turning point in music - Adele had what may be the last blockbuster album we'll ever see on the charts - in the neighborhood of 11 million sold. And when you get sales like that, it allows labels to take a chance on other artists with vocal talent and a story to tell - the charts seemed to become a little more diverse. Adele brings us to the intense anger and frustration of a love lost, a love that she feels slipped through her fingers. It's a march of the song as if she is stomping around in denial that the relationship has soured for good. She is clearly working through the emotions of the break-up and well shot of her way to acceptance. The release strategy for this album may not have planned it this way, but those first three chart-topping singles tell a story - the bargaining and denial that close with an ended relationship. Set Fire to the Rain indicates an understanding that the relationship is truly over, but contains a lingering anger and sadness. And then Someone Like You provides closure and acceptance. All of it is brilliant. Popstop's chart - #1 (11 weeks) - April - July 2011
Additional Songs to chart: Set Fire to the Rain - #1 (4 weeks) - August 2011 Someone Like You - #1 (4 weeks) - September-October 2011 Rumour Has It - #1 (5 weeks) - December 2011- January 2012
#1 - Bootylicious - Destiny's Child | 2001 | I don't think you're ready for this jelly.This song is perfection incarnate. End of. Thank you all for following the top 200! Popstop's Chart - #1 (7 weeks) - July-August 2001
Additional songs to chart: Jumpin' Jumpin' - #1 (5 weeks) - November-December 2000

Hmm, just realizing I didn't list additional songs from Whitney, but I WIll Always Love You would have made the chart as well. Bonnie is amazing and doesn't get near the amount of attention she should. I did a search of Pulse on Bonnie Raitt and there's literally no one mentioning her but me. I should make her my avi.

Criminal is such a great song with such scathing lyrics. You don't have blunt, vulnerable lyrics like that as much as we did in the 90s with Fiona, Alanis, etc, etc. Awesome at Gaga #9 and Amy #8. :'( too much slayage. I also still miss Amy. Like, a lot. I couldn't even read any more but I also couldn't stop....!! Also, for Eminem, Whitney, Bonnie!! Bonnie is amazing and doesn't get near the amount of attention she should. I did a search of Pulse on Bonnie Raitt and there's literally no one mentioning her but me. I should make her my avi. I know I've mentioned her a few times over the years. But yeah, when you don't really get anyone else picking up on it, you kind of don't bother. But Bonnie Raitt is one of the great today. I'd put her in with Tracy Chapman and Lucinda Williams as a singer who doesn't get enough love these days.

26. Would have chosen Manic Monday, but can understand the 1980-ness of this video.
25. Alicia slays this song. It may well be in my top 20 overall.
23. It's tough to pick just one Nirvana song. But I think you did fine here.
22. It is tough for me to choose between this and Miss Jackson. Hey Ya is just effervescent pop while Jackson is more R&B, but there's an underlying anger in both.
21. Like this song pretty good as well, particularly its retro feel.
20. Can't decide either, so I'm fine with this tie. Both are good in different ways. Crazy is more chill, while Forget You is more angry.
19. I like the song better than the video, which reminds me of Kids.
18. I enjoy this pop song. I'd call it a guilty pleasure, but I don't feel guilty about it.
17. Did not know that about M/A/R/R/S. I've played it a few times in one of my compilation sports CDs, not sure which one.
14. Another enjoyable pop song, from start to finish. It's a shame that many radio stations choose to omit the Q Tip part.
13. Hadn't heard the song. The only thing I know about Blur is Song 2, but it does make me want to try more of their songs.
12. I liked the rap at the time, and it's still decent.
11. Into the Groove is a good choice, although personally I would have picked Live to Tell. Believe it or not, I thought she was going to be big when I saw her Borderline video.
10. OMG, it's so hard to pick one song. But I would have picked this one or Weapon of Choice. So nice call.
9. Good call, although I'm not sure if it's I don't wanna be friends or I don't speak French. Although I thought it was Applause that winnowed away her base some.
8. This song reminds me of someone who could have been great if her head had been on straight and she beat her addiction. Rehab will always serve as a bittersweet song to me for that reason. Sweet because it showcases her talent. Bitter because we'll never get to see her evolve her music over the years.
7. 8 Mile has been a mixed blessing for me. I thought it was well done and Eminem shows potential as an actor if he wishes to pursue that. But I feel at times it whitewashed controversial aspects of his career and life. But Lose Yourself is probably his best song with Stan battling Love the Way You Lie for second.
6. I presume you meant to compare her to Amy Winehouse in that paragraph? Anyway, she reminds me of Michael Jackson in that she was a talented singer, but the cracks were starting to form due to her personal life and some regression in her music. But her death allowed us to focus on her immeasurable talent. Good call with How Will I Know.
5. I can respect the Bonnie Raitt love. Something to Talk About is probably her best song. I'd also recommend I Can't Make You Love Me, a wistful song about love that isn't just meant to be.
3. Aah. Love Shack! Wow, this was a fun song. Kate and Cindy singing while Fred harps about a Caddy that's as big as a whale and about to set sail. If that line doesn't bring a smile to your face, you need to find your smile, stat.
2. Rolling in the Deep! Adele really slays it here in this song about a lover's anger about a relationship gone wrong.
1. Of all the Destiny's Child songs, you pick that one? Just kidding. I thought it was decent, although I prefer Bills, Independent Women, or Survivor as DC singles. It reminds me of a story about a concert that took place right when I had just moved into Oklahoma for a spell. Couldn't go because I was unpacking and all that. Turns out I had missed Destiny's Child when they were just getting started. Which means that seeing Blues Traveler in a frat concert in 1993 was the closest I saw to some group just before/as they were making it big.

Comments below in bold. Sorry I missed them earlier. Thank you so much forfollowing this. <3 25. Alicia slays this song. It may well be in my top 20 overall. - It was so hard to pick an Alicia song, but that's the one that started it all. :) 23. It's tough to pick just one Nirvana song. But I think you did fine here.- Heart Shaped Box is another favorite. I think I went with All Apologies because it was the last true single before Cobain's death. (I think Pennyroyal Tea was released a week or two before, but was pulled.)20. Can't decide either, so I'm fine with this tie. Both are good in different ways. Crazy is more chill, while Forget You is more angry. They both peaked so high on my personal chart too. It's so strange that Cee Lo had these two massive hits and no chart impact otherwise. 13. Hadn't heard the song. The only thing I know about Blur is Song 2, but it does make me want to try more of their songs. - Oh they have so many good ones! Another one I really like is Country House.11. Into the Groove is a good choice, although personally I would have picked Live to Tell. Believe it or not, I thought she was going to be big when I saw her Borderline video. - Live To Tell is a really good choice for her too since it kind of set a new direction for Madonna. 9. Good call, although I'm not sure if it's I don't wanna be friends or I don't speak French. Although I thought it was Applause that winnowed away her base some. - I think Applause showed the fall out from Born This Way. Which is too bad because I think the music on Applause is on point. 8. This song reminds me of someone who could have been great if her head had been on straight and she beat her addiction. Rehab will always serve as a bittersweet song to me for that reason. Sweet because it showcases her talent. Bitter because we'll never get to see her evolve her music over the years. - I'm still so sad about this.6. I presume you meant to compare her to Amy Winehouse in that paragraph? - Oops!3. Aah. Love Shack! Wow, this was a fun song. Kate and Cindy singing while Fred harps about a Caddy that's as big as a whale and about to set sail. If that line doesn't bring a smile to your face, you need to find your smile, stat.- I honestly had a hard time ordering the top 3! This could just as easily been #1, but I wanted to go newer.2. Rolling in the Deep! Adele really slays it here in this song about a lover's anger about a relationship gone wrong. - I can't wait for Slaydele's album in November!1. - Oh damn! My brother had a situation like that with Nirvana. He was in Europe on a study abroad and had a chance to see them before they hit big, but was really tired, and so his friends went without him. And of course, he never got another chance again. as for Bootylicious, I know it's not necessarily their signature hit, but it just makes me so damn happy. Independent Women was a megahit for them and is probably more emblematic, but I had to go with what I loved most. <3
