I think they really need to just give up on #1. This is like, this song's tenth week in top 5.

This one is mercifully finished as "Gonna Know We Were Here" lost 88 spins and roughly 570k in audience today.

FWIW, he did tell Lon Helton on his countdown show that there 'probably won't' be another single from his current CD, but that he does expect to have a new single out sometime around the ACM telecast.

I like the 4-week peak (non-consecutive weeks) at #2 on Billboard. There was a time when all kinds of unlikely runs graced the country airplay chart -- 7-week #1's, 5-week #3's, all kinds of things. I'm not saying we're heading back to those days, but even a nod in that direction would be a good thing, as unpredictable results make the chart more credible. At least to me.
Thanks to Jason, not that I think he did it on purpose.

I never thought I'd thank a Thomas Rhett song from keeping Jason Aldean from the top but..... here we are, lol.

Consistency for me at least has been a major issue for me at least as it relates to the bro-country brigade as exemplified by DAHM standing out as a sublime and very well-deserved multi- week chart-topping smash following the fingernails-scraping-the-chalkboard cringefest known as Crash and Burn, and keeping Aldean's latest piece of mediocrity at #2, which was far too high IMHO.
Lee Brice and Cole Swindell among others have also been plagued with the consistency issue in going from great to gruesome with successive singles.
14 years ago this week 'Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning?) and 'Run' were stuck at #1 and #2 for the third straight week, certainly among the very best 'top tzwo tandems' ever.
