If there was one sort of saving grace sort of thing this week for Lauren is that her Christmas losses weren't too bad for her section of the chart. Lauren Alaina has stacked up a lot of weeks but her song did just re enter the Hot Country Songs. So that should mean the label is still behind this song. Some good news also for Lauren is that up ahead on BB there's a lot of songs looking ready to leave or should leave in the coming weeks ( Gonna, Pain Killer, Top Of The World, I Got The Boy, Burning House, Yup). So if Lauren can get some adds heading into the new year there might still be time. I can really see this going either way. It's extremely hard for me to see Lauren not doing well with this single. I'm not sure why she hasn't had any huge hits yet.

It's been on the Billboard chart for 12 weeks already and has only made it to #49. That's not a very good sign at all. It's still possible that this one could catch on and start moving up the charts, but I have my doubts.

I'm not a big fan of this one but Lauren has some other great songs, and his should be charting higher, it's certainly catchy enough IMO.

Video out Tuesday. She just announced on her Instagram. So it's clear the label is still behind the song with a video coming out. I really hope this can pull in some big ads to help Lauren out. I do like jhomes87 have my doubts but the video might help spark some awareness of the song to radio programmers. Lauren is a huge talent and I think it would be a shame to see her not last much longer on her label.

A music video will not save this song. I'm certainly not saying this one can't be a slow grower and become a moderate hit for Lauren but I just don't see this one taking off, in the end.

It'll be a shame if this one gets lost in the shuffle because early reception seemed to be good for this one out of the gate from fans and radio alike. From what I could tell, radio seemed fairly interested in her/this song after the radio tour and the early sales for this one with virtually no airplay were promising for someone of her status.

Just came here to post that!
Damn, this girl has star quality. Stunning, stunning video. How she is not a massively huge star is beyond me. In my eyes, she has the "it' factor.
EDIT: She did break back into the Top 50 on Mediabase this morning with a decent bullet, so make this still has a shot.

This song is catchy that it's hard to believe it's not at least approaching Top 30 at this point.
I watched some Lauren videos on American Idol and she's always been SUPER charming, even at 15. It's hard to get bored with her live performances, and after Next Boyfriend, her videos.
She deserves better as far as her placement in the country music hierarchy goes. She's got a bombastic voice and is fun to watch. And unlike someone else from a reality singing show with a big voice, she put something out that's modern and pretty far away from country, but not crap (Friendzone).

That video was great! Lauren looked phenomenal and she proved in that video why she should be a star. Also Lauren looked amazing in that black dress. That video is why I always wished she would have won American Idol because I felt like radio would have given Lauren more of a shot if she would have won. If there was one complaining I had of the video I didn't like the setting it felt like a pop music video but Lauren voice and charisma due more than enough to make up for it.

Not quite sure if you meant to say she re-entered ("back") into the Mediabase top 50 but this is actually "Next Boyfriend's" first day inside the MB top 50. Also, KKBQ in Houston was one of this song's 2 adds this week, which could greatly help Lauren's audience if they put her in at least medium rotation.

"Next Boyfriend" was in the Mediabase top 50 published issue...all the way back on November 2nd, lol. No wonder I missed it. I was looking at Kworb and today was Lauren's first day on Kworb...which is why I was incorrect. BTW: "Next Boyfriend's" has only increased 100 total Mediabase points over the past ten weeks, which is literally not doing much of anything. It's still not looking all that promising for this single but there is still a little time for this to get on track.

Great video! I loved the sort of neon color palette and Lauren looked amazing. She definitely oozes with star potential, like bigfan101 said. Really rooting for this one to be a long, slow chart climb into being at least a moderate hit. Like if this could at least get into the Top 30 like "Georgia Peaches," I'd be pretty happy. I can still see this one turning into a hit, but it needs to start moving. Early signs pointed to this being a hit (nice initial sales, response from radio from her tour), so radio really needs to start to get on board already.

Wow! Great video! If this song tanks on radio, it's gonna be a damned indictment on Country radio and their attitude on females. There is no excuse for this song not be be a top 10 hit. Lauren has it all. She's better than she's ever been.

She look so stunning in the video!
I'm not getting my hopes up for this one but I'd love to see her take off and become a consistent hitmaker, she's got everything that a star needs. I really hope radio doesn't let her disappear.

Great video! Lauren looks really, really good.
Not much has changed for this one (chart-wise) since I posted last week, but I really enjoy this song and I hope it can somehow take off. It's the perfect country-pop song, and Lauren's vocals are incredible.

sabre14 with the Mediabase recurrents, is this going to make top 50 for the week? Also of note, her video was release near the same time as Chris Lane's Fix. Her views out number his nearly 2 to 1, yet he is top 40 and she is struggling to make top 50. Not fair :/

I think Lauren will the only way she doesn't is if Chris/Cassadee and Craig Morgan pass her on MB. But Lauren Alaina has had a fairly decent week so she should be good.

sabre14 with the Mediabase recurrents, is this going to make top 50 for the week? She should since "Next Boyfriend" was bumped out of the rolling top 50 by "By The Way" a couple days ago and "By The Way" was first bumped out by "My Church." I'm expecting Lauren to stay in the Published Mediabase top 50 this week.

What's even more surprising is that Craig Morgan lost 14 spins and yet he still manage to overall this week stay ahead of Lauren. Well I'm taking back my statement that Lauren had a decent week. Lauren should be in the Top 50 next week and this time for good Scotty will certainly fall below and I imagine Lauren could pass Craig. That and A Thousand Horses will go recurrent on MB so Lauren should be back in the Top 50 soon enough.

Well I guess that's more indicative of how sub-par those three songs are performing; I don't think any will make the top 30 (Scotty's sure won't) and even top 40 will be difficult.

I can see Lauren being a sleeper hit possibly but that's it. I was just surprised because right before Lauren was kicked out of the MB Top 50 she had a bullet of +83. So I was surprised. I do still hope that Lauren and or Lindsay Ell can take off and become a hit. By the way Scotty appears to be all but done (finally!) so at least that'll help clear up chart space

Also of note, her video was release near the same time as Chris Lane's Fix. Her views out number his nearly 2 to 1, yet he is top 40 and she is struggling to make top 50. Not fair :/ Lauren's views on YouTube have been good so far. But I doubt YT views really have any bearing on what does well on radio or what a label should promote. For example, Danielle Bradbery's "Friend Zone" has about 1.2 million views & has been out for 3 months. There are songs that are Top 40 or higher on the charts & have been out longer that has less views (Ex. Tyler Farr, A Thousand Horses, etc.). If the label or radio cared about her video views, Danielle's song would have been released & probably be doing well on the radio (which I'm glad it's not). I could see "Next Boyfriend" being a slow grower on radio. However, I'm worried that it is moving pretty slow & has been out for awhile. There is a lot of new music coming out soon & CRS is in Feb. (which should lead to a lot of new releases) that if this doesn't move quicker I'm afraid it will get lost in the shuffle.

I can't help thinking Scotty's re-appearance on yesterday's MB chart was a glitch of some sort because he jumped from outside the top 50 to 49 with a -61 bullet. It's possible, I guess, but not likely. Anyway, Chris Young and Cassadee Pope replaced him in that spot today. I'm thinking that's probably what should have happened in the first place. Anyone who has watched the MB charts over the years knows it would not be unprecedented for them to make a goof like that. The bottom line is Lauren is still out of the top 50. Looks like two songs will go recurrent this week, so hopefully she's not falling back so far that she'll miss the top 50 again.

Actually only one song is going recurrent this week on MB and that is A Thousand Horses. Dierks Bentley new one is for sure going to take that spot so Lauren has to pass Craig Morgan to get inside that Top 50.
