I actually hear "See You Tonight" and "Feelin' It" on both the radio stations in my area a lot. I've heard reports from other fans across the country hearing these songs on their stations too. The singles from his first album don't get played anywhere anymore, but the 2 from his 2nd album still gets quite a bit of play. They aren't given the recurrent spins of a Luke or Jason, but they are given fair play still in many places. The jury is still out on the future, but he's one artist I wouldn't bet against revving back up on radio.
As far as Lauren, I thought this would be a bigger hit for her. I think her best bet would to get away from Mercury too.

^^^ i was shocked when they dropped Scotty with one flop and tons of hits in his past eras, i wouldnt be shocked if Lauren gets dropped I don't think they dropped Scotty, I really don't at all. I believe it was more a mutual parting ways. Scotty was dropped. Part of the issue was likely his Idol winner's contract, which conferred escalating advances (at above the market rate) to Scotty for every album he recorded and which split royalties from sales between 19, Interscope and Mercury (making it harder for the label to recoup). I think Mercury would have been fine with the burden of the contract if they believed that they could take Scotty back to a high enough level of sales after his sophomore album's mediocre performance. But evidently that belief wasn't there. As I understand it, though, Scotty still has his record deal with 19, so 19 appears to think that he can still deliver for them. Lauren's contract would confer lower advances because she was a runner-up, and she is still working off an advance for her second studio album (while Scotty would be on either his third or fourth, depending on how his Christmas album was counted). So from that point of view, she may have more of a chance of hanging on at Mercury, especially since we don't know what level of belief in her exists at UMG Nashville. Kacey's breakthrough aside, it's not like that label family has fared much better with the considerable female talent on its roster.
