Playoffs - Round 2 - Set 1I need to get to bed early tonight as I am leaving the mountains tomorrow at 5:30 AM. Blah. So I will post the next set tomorrow morning. Goodbye - Feder ft. Lyse (Juan-6) vs. - Kind of a crappy way to go out, narwhals. But unfortunately this three-way race was dominated by Beck who received 11 votes. Lost was a distant second with three votes, and appropriately named Goodbye got two votes. Dreams - Beck (Albie-8)* vs. Lost - Major Lazer ft. MO (narwhals-4)* Shades of Grey - Oliver Heldens and Shaun Frank ft. Delaney Jane (Mikey-1)* vs. 21P made it a race to start off with, but Shades of Grey had a run near the end to put it ahead 10-6. Stressed Out - 21 Pilots (H-7) Papercut - Zedd ft. Troye Sivan (Az-1) vs. A tie! But it's too little, too late here as Mikey ties it up, but Hillary wins anyhow based on previous cumulative vote total. An 8-8 finish. Sparks - Hillary Duff (JL44-6)*No Sleeep - Janet Jackson (Zebra-1)** vs. It looked liked Janet might pull this one off, but the last two votes went to Carly. Had Mikey voted for Janet, she would have moved on, but it is a 9-7 finish instead. Run Away With Me - Carly Rae Jepsen (JL44-5)Hold My Hand - Jess Glynne (albie-4) vs. By far, the biggest blowout of the round goes to Jess Glynne who demolishes Gorgon City 13-3. Lover Like You - Gorgon City ft. Katy B (Kunt-3)* Lonely Town - Brandon Flowers (Zebra-5) vs. Flo Rida had a late surge that made this closer that it really was, but Brandon had a decent lead throughout, and holds off Flo 9-7. SO glad this wasn't a tie because there was no tiebreaker here!I think this may have eliminated DJ Dave though :'( I Don't Like It, I Love It - Flo Rida ft. Robin Thicke (DJDave-5) Where Are Ü Now - Skrillex & Diplo ft. Justin Bieber (JL44-1)** vs. An 11-5 win for Skrillex et al, Battle Cry never really showed up for this battle. Battle Cry - Havana Brown ft. Bebe Rexha and Savi (Az-6) Cool For the Summer - Demi Lovato (Kunt-4)* vs. Wow! This was much, much closer than I expected! I thought Demi would move on no problem, but instead Go got off to a seeminly insurmountable 6-1 lead. But it all fell apart after that, with Demi surging to tie it up. Demi wins based on greater cumulative vote total. Go - The Chemical Brothers (ryan-7)

I was about to be disappointed that "No Sleeep" lost but considering that it lost to "Run Away With Me" I'm okay with it. :)
How many songs do I have left lmao? It's only like two at most.

Cumulative total what the f**k?! No seriously what the f**k is that, why should votes from previous rounds have anything to do with anything, you move on you start fresh. Those are the rules that I put forth as tiebreaker. If the votes tie up at the end of the period, then I count the total votes from previous rounds. Papercut received 20 cumulative votes in the previous two rounds compared with Hillary receiving 23 votes. I mean, I've done it this way for every tournament. This isn't the first time a tie has been decided this way. Once we get past the first round, the seed number only comes into play if there is also a tie on cumulative votes, as would have been the case had Carly and Janet tied. I was about to be disappointed that "No Sleeep" lost but considering that it lost to "Run Away With Me" I'm okay with it. :) How many songs do I have left lmao? It's only like two at most. I think Brandon is your last man standing, but I will update the Challonge chart tomorrow morning, and confirm. |

That's such bulls**t though, you're changing the rules mid-competition. You can peruse any OP in my tournaments to know that has always been the way I do tiebreakers. The seed number is used in the first round because there are no previous votes to go off of. FWIW I voted for Papercut. |
