I love the new arrangement to WWWY. The drums are much more prominent.

its pretty clear that she did AIA as a way to redeem herself. It will pay in a big way, she will get press everywhere cause of it..... Redeem herself for what?

Yes- not a matter of redeeming, but rather so people who may have seen her on the Grammys (and perhaps hadn't seen her NBC telecast) could hear it clearly.
WWWY was very nice.

"When We Were Young" up to #12 on iTunes. Might be able to get into the top 10 soon with James Bay/Gwen Stefani falling.

its pretty clear that she did AIA as a way to redeem herself. It will pay in a big way, she will get press everywhere cause of it..... Redeem herself for what? BTW - this was a brilliant PR/Marketing strategy - ADELE being 'off' - thing of how much press that performance has received (and everyone coming to her defense, etc.) Not only that, the 'crying' story has been everywhere and now a performance on a largely unwatched daytime talk show suddenly is big news as she 'redeems herself,' with a flawless performance. Oh and nobody would've cared that much about this chat stop but for the Grammy '$#!+" I realize there are two things that annoy me about WWWY 1) the AI "Fallin'" syndrome - I feel like she's trying to 'teach' us with the trilling; 2) a better mix backing the song - a harder mix would've given the song a better bite. I'm glad it's moved to top 20, but I'd really prefer radio drop this fast and give the "ADELE' spins back to "Hello" until Single #3, which can wait until April. There is no need to rush this project.

I've seen literally zero about either performance being bad or "redeeming."

I'm so thrilled she performed this on Ellen! She killed it and showed the naysayers that she is not giving up on the song. It was arranged more powerfully as well.
All I Ask is great, but im all out rooting for WWWY at this point.
(not going to lie though, she was incredible during All I Ask. She sung her face off and it was beautiful.)

Callouts are finally back. Predictably, they're not great for this song.
That said, the data is really weird this week. Sample size is small. Many songs - particularly newer ones - have scores we would have considered bad in previous weeks.
Probably worth waiting a few weeks to see how the data normalizes. But it's probably also safe to say pop radio listeners aren't *loving* this one.

Hoping they at least release a music video to give it one last push but not sure about that now.

It's so weird that this and "Out Of The Woods" both stalled at #12.

This is all James Corden's fault. If they just would have done/shown this instead of "All I Ask" on Carpool Karaoke things would have definitely been different.

Nice turnaround in the trend at Hot AC. Solid hit at the format. It's a ways out of No. 2, so No. 3 could end up being its peak. "Hello" still top 10 at Hot AC, too, with 4,500+ spins .

It's so weird that this and "Out Of The Woods" both stalled at #12. Just goes to show you no one is untouchable or immune to chart floppage.

She doesn't have another hit on the album (whether it matters or not.) Judging by the response, no one wants All I Ask either. People got over the hype quickly and realized 25 sucks.

I'd hardly call the showing "floppage"- relatively disappointing, perhaps. But then again, compared to "Hello," most things would be, wouldn't they? :)

This was a riskier choice than Hello, but if it was ever going to be a single, it would have to have been second. With a more uptempo song serving as the buffer, All I Ask could still become a hit fourth, but I don't think this would have at a later stage. CHR wise, I think the best it could have done later is cracking the top 20, and even that wouldn't have been guaranteed. They were bent on making this a single since before Hello was even released, and they picked the best time they could have to do it in that case.
I think whether she does this or AIA at the BRITs, it'll probably be her last chance to get another #1 there barring something unexpected/viral with how much her album has already sold.
