O.K., Arista. Time to get this to #1 and announce the third single. No I disagree. They need to let more songs get their turn before "Heartbeat." What's the hurry? Sony can let "Snapback" go ahead while they're at it, lol. :)

Although, I guess nothing is impossible for hall pass Blake.

Moves to #1 at MediaBase. Now, do the same at Billboard:
2 1 CARRIE UNDERWOOD Heartbeat 8271 8050 221 61.269

Prediction This will be no.1 for 2 weeks on media base and billboard It's audience is at 62.5 with zac brown band behind at 56.6 Once a label lets go of promotion, it's easier than you think to overcome a 5.3 million audience gap, which is what the gap is now, especially if "Beautiful Drug" gets a push for #1 next week. "Beautiful Drug" has 57.0 million in Mediabase audience, while "Heartbeat" has 62.3. Your numbers are slightly off.

ZBB will mount a push next week and I expect Carrie to have the standard fall from #1. Her label won't even try for another week.

I think she will only get 1 week at #1 on Billboard because ZBB, Cole Swindell and Brett Eldredge are all gaining on her. I see ZBB knocking her out of #1 next week. Then Cole or Brett knocking ZBB out after 1 week at the top.

Another week at #1 on either chart won't do anything to give the sales pace of her CD a pop.
A new single announcement within the next week or two would appear to be a lock. I'm just glad she's reached #1.

Heartbeat could only lose .500mil audience impressions a day and Beautiful Drug could gain the same every day (unlikely that low of daily gains if they push), and it would pass next week.

So, with Mediabase squared away, are we looking at a BB #1 as well?

So, with Mediabase squared away, are we looking at a BB #1 as well? Yep! I've factored in all the stations, gains etc. Carrie Underwood should easily get to #1 this week. I'll have my predictions up later today but it looks like the audience gap should be about 4 million.

So, with Mediabase squared away, are we looking at a BB #1 as well? The only way she doesn't get the BB #1 is if something absolutely crazy were to happen tomorrow, like Carrie losing 2 million and Zac Brown Band gaining 3-4 million, which isn't going to happen.

Nothing crazy will happen. "Heartbeat" will be #1 on both Mediabase and Billboard Airplay this week.

So what do y'all think will be the next single? I think either "church bells " or dirty laundry " may be it. What do y'all think it should be?

Nothing 'crazy' will happen to this tune on a Sunday which typically features very little live programming and tons of syndicated programming on top of NASCAR racing coverage.

Yes! Finally Carrie returns to the top! 14th BB #1 and 23rd overall! Well, the Billboard one will have an asterisk as it's not #1 on their official chart (Country Songs) is it? It's just #1 in Country Airplay. Her stats there are split a bit since she has songs that were #1 on Country Songs (their main official country chart) but not Country Airplay, but she also has songs that have been #1 on Country Airplay but not Country Songs.

Well, Carrie Underwood's longest reign on the airplay chart (before there was one) is Jesus, Take The Wheel (six weeks at the top). Her longest reign on the hot country songs chart is Something In The Water (seven weeks at the top). Somethin' Bad, her duet with Miranda Lambert is her only other #1 on the mongrel chart.

Well my opinion is that as long as it's on BB it should count as a #1 and the rest of her #1s were before the switch and they all got to #1 solely based on AirPlay. Most of chart historians view the AirPlay chart as the true one and the new country songs hybrid one as inaccurate and too digital sales and streaming heavy. Just my opinion

And, really, considering we know all of the politics involved with radio/airplay I don't know why anyone would consider an airplay-only chart to be the best.

Country Airplay or Hot Country Songs, she has a BB #1. That's all that should matter. Unless it doesn't fit a narrative that she's somehow overlooked in lieu of other stars.

Because a chart where something can spend like 20+ weeks at #1 because it sells insanely well and turns into a crossover hit on formats like CHR or Adult Pop is far more ridiculous and unnecessary than a chart based on airplay that can be manipulated by record labels. Neither one is wholly fair, but I'll absolutely take the airplay chart any day over the alternative.

I'd actually take the Mongrel Chart if they don't factor in crossover AirPlay. If they do sales, streams, and radio, I think the chart would be a perfect reflection of what is popular (IMO).
