I'm loving the single and I'm excited for the new album and tour but I don't know how well this will do on radio. I'm hopeful that Big Machine knows what they're doing picking this one but I have a gut feeling this will do about as well as "Me Without You" :( The thing with 'Me Without You' was UMG took entirely too long to pick a second single when they picked it, it was after album promotion where Jennifer had done 'Fallin' nearly every television appearance. Once they pick it and gave it a release date, they promoted it a week in aircheck/billboard then dropped it maybe a week, if that after it was released. Every radio station I tried to requested the song from had no idea the song was or that Jennifer had a second single. So yeah, not exactly a song to compare it too since the label never even tried with it and radio had no idea that it was the single. I have a good feeling that this song will do better than that one or even 'That Girl' ever did. Big Machine seems to be fully behind this song. While they sent the song out a few weeks ago with MPE, they have been sending other things out to station. By things, I mean they sent out cut-out's of Jennifer and little things like that to md/pd's as well as dj's trying to encourage them to play the song. I have seen several dj's over the last week to ten days post about the cut out's as they posted pictures with it. A few mentioned Jennifer calling in this week to talk to them about the new single. So there seems to be a lot more promotion in line with 'Unlove You' than UMG ever really gave to 'That Girl' and 'Me Without You'. Maybe I'm a little naive and optimistic to think this song could do better than those especially 'That Girl' which only made it to mid-thirties. But honestly, the song has been testing well with the stations that have tested it against other new songs, much better than That Girl or Sugar did.

Oh I knew they pulled promo for "Me Without You" very early but I just meant I feel like it'll peak around the same place. I'm really hoping it does better than her first two singles but it's just a feeling I have.

Being on Big Machine has me a little more optimistic about this one's chances at country radio, but I am still rather skeptical as well because this basically sounds nothing like what radio would prefer to play currently. I do think it will at least make the Top 40 though; I'd really be quite surprised to see it perform worse than "That Girl," but beyond that, I don't really know what to expect of this release. I would love to see this be a surprise ballad hit, but we'll see what happens.

"Unlove You" is already showing close to 10 starters and has three confirmed adds this week through Mediabase (Hits Daily Double). One of the stations that have added the song is KKBQ in Houston.
"That Girl" got 35 adds on impact day. I'm expecting "Unlove You" to at least match that, if not exceed it.

Off to a good start so far, as it moves 58-51* in its second week. That's one off of the #50 peak of "Me Without You" already.

I'm praying for this to become a hit. This is so good that it's on par with "Stay" in my opinion. Or maybe even better.

Not sure if I've commented on this yet, but as someone who hated everything on her last solo album (despite loving Jennifer and almost everything from Sugarland), I really enjoy this one. Not sure how successful it will be, but hopefully the change of label will be good for her. I just hope her new album is consistent with "Unlove You" and not anything from the last album (or "Sugar" for that matter)

"Unlove You" makes its first appearance in the top 50 on the Mediabase rolling chart at #49 (I know it won't be official until Sunday), just under three weeks after going for adds. I don't want to get my hopes up too high, but I really think this has a chance of becoming huge. I think it will be a big seller once more people get to hear it, so I hope radio is really onboard with this.

Jennifer is filming the video for the song today in Nashville. https://www.instagram.com/p/BBIMKpKM5wt I'm hoping she'll be able to play it Sunday during her NHL All Star Game appearance. She'll be performing during the 2nd intermission. Even though it's on a special channel, NBCSN, I'm hoping that'll get her some attention with the song. She visited CMT yesterday to film a CMT Weekend Takeover, no word on when that airs. She has an interview airing Monday morning on America's Morning show. I'm hoping she manages to get on Bobby Bones too. That would help her a lot.

This continues to build at radio, moving 47-45* and picking up another 900K in AI. At least 3 top 40 spots should open up next week, but there's a bit of a gap between her and Big & Rich (at #42). I wouldn't completely rule out her cracking the top 40 next week, but it's more likely she'll end up in the 41-42 range.

This seems to good to be true. I know it's still really early in its chart run, but I'm feeling pretty optimistic about how this one will do.

I have to say the reaction on twitter radio plays it has been really great. I saw one station tweet Jennifer that the phones were blowing up after they played it for the first time. I won't lie even though I love this song and have since the first time I heard it, I worried about it being chosen of Drunk in Heels and Chaser. But now that the song has been out and the reaction has been great, I'm really I feel good about this song as well g8erboi. It feels like it'll be a slow burner until it really takes off. I'm hoping some appearances will be happening for her soon to help things along.
Unrelated, Jennifer modelled for a friend of hers that is a designed named Gary Graham. It's for his fall collection. The photoshoot for the collection will be previewed on vogue.com on Thursday. Jennifer isn't the only celebrity taking part in but still, it's a big thing I think for her. I happen to love the fact she branches out like this outside of music. It's nice to see her label supports this and isn't pushing her to do just music, I never got the vibe that her previous label did.
I'm going to include some quotes from a few interviews Jennifer has done about the single and album From CMT. About Brandy Clark New Album: From Iheartradio:

I really want to hear "Drunk In Heels" based on her description. I like "Unlove You", so the production might be nice overall.

I really want to her "Drunk In Heels" based on her description. I like "Unlove You", so the production might be nice overall. There are a few live videos on youtube of it, including a acoustic one she did for cmt next women of country. I have heard the studio version that was tested for the single as well as a song called Chaser. Drunk in Heels was definitely my favorite out of the two uptempo songs that were tested. It did well with DJ's but was a little edgy though compared to what is on the radio now with females. Playing with Fire is another one of the uptempos I have loved hearing (live) along with the ballads like Salvation Works (co-write w. Brandy and Lori McKenna) / Three Days in Bed (Holly Williams song) / Way Back Home (her most autobiographical song).

I really want to hear "Drunk In Heels" based on her description. I like "Unlove You", so the production might be nice overall. I heard "Drunk In Heels" like avalyn did, when it was tested for radio. Then, when I saw Jennifer on the Playing With Fire tour, she played it live. I love "Unlove You" and hope it becomes one of her biggest hits, but I would take "Drunk In Heels" over this song, anyday. There is so much sass and "Jennifer funk" to DIH. I don't know if it's because we kind of went through a dry spell with uptempo songs from Jennifer that I love, DIH so much...but, MAN! It's so good. If it isn't released as a single, Big Machine is doing themselves a huge disservice.

Beautiful song. Much, much better than that other song that was initially released as a first single from this album a few months ago. I hope this does well for her.

Top 40 on Mediabase this week, moving 44-39*. Hopefully the same thing will happen on Billboard, too. With four songs (Brothers Osborne, Brad Paisley, Tyler Farr, Eric Church) potentially going recurrent from the top 40, plus Dan + Shay taking a hit, I don't think it's out of the question.

Top 40 on Billboard, moving 45-39* and gaining over 600K in AI. I am very impressed with this one's start at radio.

I don't know if the label has anything to do with it, but maybe this change is what Jen needed. It helps that the song itself is awesome though

I'm a little surprised this is off to such a stellar start considering how unconventional this single is for country radio in 2015 but there was a small part of me that thought perhaps it could be another "Stay," and from the way it's taking off, I'm getting a good feeling that it very well could be following in the footsteps of that one. I heard this on the radio overnight on Saturday night (technically in the early A.M. on Sunday at like 1:30-ish) and it was just wonderful hearing it. The vocal performance on this is truly stunning and I hope it's a future #1 hit.
