The voice performance is actually amazing, their voices work well together.

With a bullet as of today with +130, it feels like this song has a legit chance of getting a Top 20 finish now as it seems Jennifer has finally started to pick up the pace after struggling in the 30s this spring.

I honestly hope so. It took four months, more or less to climb from 40 to 30 then a month now to go from 30 to 25. I'm glad to see it clicking a lot more than it was before. It just needs to hold strong and continue the climb, the patience of the label needs to continue. I say that because they could have easily thrown in the towel with the song and moved on to something uptempo but they didn't. But I honestly would be happy with a top 20. The label seems to be behind it and Scott has mentioned Hey Heartbreak will be a single at some point, I'd assume late summer/early fall once she's done making the Dolly movie sequel and has proper time to promote/make a video. I'll say that's reassuring as a fan to hear that the label has their eyes on a follow up single or singles especially after That Girl only getting one official/promoted single. I still don't really count Me Without You since it got a week or so promotion spot in country aircheck then was dropped from promotion o the label.

I believe that there are several songs which have been on CT40 for at least 26 weeks including David Nail & Jon Pardi according to Bob Kingsley, but this scintillating song appears to be headed for 35 or more even though it's far superior to most of the tunes currently on Kingsley's countdown IMHO.

I do wonder if this can chug along through the whole summer and make it to the top 10 in the fall. As long as it makes the top 15 I'm happy.

It looks as if the song will be 23 on tonight's mediabase charts. I might just have to change my expectations. While I always want her songs to do well I never expect too much, if that makes sense. In the beginning I was going to be happy with a top 30 and then that happened. Then I said top 20. It might just get to top 15 if it just continues to push along. It's such a good feeling that she has a label who believes in her and her music. It never felt like her previous label did or they really knew what to do with her solo material.

Randomly, does anyone know what the album has sold so far? I had someone ask me but I couldn't find anything.

"Unlove You" is probably done. Jennifer Nettles lost 65 spins today, and lost about 250k in audience today. Actually ever since Saturday Jennifer Nettles has lost around 740k in audience and 25 spins as well. So she is at best struggling but today's update looks to be too big of a loss to record from.

A one-day update like that is not too big to recover from. Case in point: Jennifer gained 45 spins in today's update and 62k in audience. So no, this song isn't done. It definitely had a rough week but it was probably just one of those situations where other songs were getting top 20 conversions instead of this one. This one has definitely slowed down but we can't just look at single-day updates to assess how it's doing. It's better to look at how the song has trended over a 1-week or multi-week period (and I see that you did that: I'm just pointing out that the daily updates can be way too erratic to be relied upon).

I admit I got a little too trigger happy. Just with the chart clog, we need some of these songs to please leave, and it seems like no one wants to give up at all. Jennifer Nettles, Jordan Rager, and Kip Moore are all songs I really hope leave soon. I also wouldn't mind seeing David Nail and Frankie Ballard leave soon. Just no one wants to give in, and it seems like no one is making any movement, besides like Maren Morris last week. I also assumed since that was a Tuesday update and that usually indicates when a label is off a song if it suffers that great of a loss. Finally with Jennifer at #29 it looks like it'll be at least a couple of months before she hits the Top 20.

Obviously, if a song loses 90-100 spins and 500k in audience then yes, stations pulled it from regular rotation, but just try and pick your spots better when it comes to updating a song's struggles. Jenn's song is struggling and the label is having a hard time keeping it going but they're not through yet. Since labels are gun-shy on album releases and singles spend a while on the chart, these updates happen time-to-time. Also, Wednesday updates usually give an indication a label's off a song -- not Tuesday.

I always thought it was Tuesday since that's usually the beginning of the Billboard week, and barely starting the MB week. So today was the update too look for, and I got nothing in terms of songs that have the label off them.

Many stations like to pull songs or decrease rotation on Tuesday's and update their playlist in general. Wednesday's would reflect what stations do on Tuesday's of course. A label can be off a song any day though, depends on the situation.

"Unlove You" continues to hang in there, rebounding 29-27* and adding an additional 582K to its AI. I would love for this to hit the top 20 (or top and beyond), but it really needs to start moving to do so. Ideally, she'd also be able to get another (hopefully uptempo) single out there soon, so it's a shame that this one is taking so long to climb the charts. But, I guess the good news is it is still continuing to build and climb, and is a much bigger hit than anything from her first solo album.

Hey Heartbreak is what Scott wants to put out, he never said single two but I can only guess that would be the next single. I don't think they'd do anything before she's done with the Coat of Many Colors sequel she's down in Atlanta working on for the next five or six weeks. Once she's done with that outside a few shows (Blackberry Farms & Atlanta) in August and October followed by CMA Country Christmas and movie promo in November she doesn't seem to to have a lot on her plate that we know of. So, I would think she'd be able to fully focus on the next single. I.E visiting radio stations - much like she did with Unlove You - to do interviews and stuff their sites, a music video or just some promotion in general. But I wonder, would it be smart to put Hey Heartbreak out in the fall/winter though? Or you know, would they go with another ballad like Stupid Girl (that got a lot of positive comments from DJ's) or one of the others?

Stations are never tired of uptempos.

I think a second (or third really, counting "Me Without You") ballad in a row wouldn't be a great idea. That might be pushing her luck with trying to get it onto the radio. I think the next single really has to be uptempo.

Yeah, that totally makes sense! I feel like there's a constant debate on the time of year for a ballad or uptempo. To me, if it's a good song release it. The more I listen to the album the more I realize it's more uptempo friendly outside of Stupid Girl, Unlove You, Way Back Home and Three Days in Bed. I tend to focus on these uptempo ones - Playing With Fire, Chaser, Drunk in Heels and Hey Heartbreak. The skip worthy tracks for me are Starting Over, Salvation Works, Sugar and My House. Out of those songs I mentioned I could easily see Chaser, Drunk in Heels and Stupid Girl being a single outside of the obvious one of Hey Heartbreak at some point.
In other news Danny Rader tweeted he's working on a Christmas Record with Jennifer and posted a picture of someone else working on the project, no Jen in the picture though. I'm curious on how they'll manage that with her already in Atlanta filming.

I think I might be the only person who loves "Salvation Works". lol
Only tracks I'm not into are "Playing With Fire" and "My House."

sabre14 Nope, "Salvation Works" is one of my favorites on the record! That and the first four tracks, and "My House" stand out to me the most.

Nope part 2! I love the entire album but "Salvation Works" has grown on me greatly, it's rivalling "Chaser" and "Drunk In Heels" as my favorite!

I find Salvation Works a nice song and I adore it's a Lori McKenna co-write. It's just not one of the songs I purposely go out of my way to listen to. I have two versions of it - live and studio thanks to the hsn version someone gifted me - so it does pop up on random occasionally on my ipod but other wise i don't listen to it really. If I had to choose between Salvation Works and Starting Over, I'd choose Salvation Works hands down. I just can't get into Starting Over at all. I've tried multiple times. But you guys aren't alone in liking that one so much! A lot of her fans do. Starting Over on the other hand, I have yet to find anyone who loves that song.

Starting Over is my favorite song on the album. There, now you know one person lol. I think Salvation Works is amazing though. Another one of my favorites. I'm really not much of a fan of Hey Heartbreak. It just seems kind of corny to me.

I hope this can hang on for a while. I originally thought that this wouldn't make it through the summer months, but now that we are heading to the end of July, maybe it can ramp up a bit. The chart run for this has been really frustrating... Two steps forward, one step back kind of thing... It would be ideal if it can hit the top 10 in the fall or winter months.

I cannot believe this song has only barely made the top 30. I have been hearing it EVERYWHERE for like 2 months now! I thought it had picked up the pace and was heading for the top 20 like a month ago.

It's weird listening to this and thinking about how this would've probably been huge if the name next to it said 'Sugarland' instead of 'Jennifer Nettles.' I mean, seriously, this woman basically was Sugarland (KB was barely noticeable on anything they put out to radio) and they were huge. I imagine this song would've done very, very well if it had been a Sugarland song instead (having KB sing backing vocals on the chorus would've been all they'd have to do differently, lol), but instead she's now just a female solo artist so she's met with hesitation from radio. Her last project it made sense because it wasn't suited for radio, but I can't find an excuse for this one having a rough go at it other than that. This is in part why I wish Sugarland had never gone on hiatus, because I think they'd still be doing quite well as a duo. I'm totally in love with this album though so at least she's doing it for me as a solo act now, but I wish radio would start to get on board again.
