Will Ghost Town DJ's be re-added to the "One Hit Wonders Of 2016" Wikipedia page since My Boo reached a new peak in 2016 or will they stay on the 1990's page but with a note saying how it peaked in 2016 thanks to The Running Man Challenege? Moved to the 2010s page, but as usual it will have to wait a year without Ghost Town DJ's getting another top 40 hit

Heard on the radio the other day that Weezer is collaborating with the Chainsmokers. So they might finally be scoring their second top 40 hit soon. Given that they are the guys behind my all time favorite song "Island in the Sun" I am definitely ok with this.

I think you're mistaking this for frontman Rivers Cuomo, whose only hit as a solo act was his feature on B.o.B's "Magic".

Buddy Holly et al didn't chart because of the "no physical singles" rule in place in 1994.

Imo Weezer is a good example of an act who is technically a one hit wonder but no one really considers them one. I mean they're one of the most influential 90s pop punk acts who are still scoring hits on the alternative charts today -- only having one of their songs go top 40 because of a technicality doesn't change that.

Could this give them their first Top 10 since 2009?

I have a feeling that Post Malone will be removed from this list in a few weeks or so. A Justin Bieber feature will almost certainly help you get a hit.

Billboard Hot 100 One-Hit Wonders of 10/01/2016.

Broccoli rises two spots up, whereas Starving rises six spots. May Post Malone and Alessia Cara potentially break out of the OHW zone at some point.

Hopefully pick up the phone can pick up 8 spots and get Travis Scott off the 2015 list. And maybe Alright can get Kent Jones off this list as well, its a good song.

I find it funny how we're already 17 pages in and we still haven't figured what the definition of a one hit wonder is. Are we just going to fight back and forth about how everyone is wrong or what? This is what OP needs to be more specific about; what is this thread trying to go for? What officially defines a one hit wonder?

Definition of a one-hit wonder: An artist has exactly one song reach the Top 40, and no more afterwards. It's that simple.

"Different For Girls" is about to be dropped by country radio, which means it's getting less likely Elle King will be able to get her second hit.
Daft Punk may finally be off the list as they are credited on The Weeknd's new single.
And we may even be finding 2000 one-hit wonder Billy Gilman off soon if his Voice singles can crack the top 40.

Well at least by your rules this wouldn't count as a hit for Daft Punk cuz they were just the featured artist. Then again, no one actually thinks of them as a one hit wonder.

This is how "Daft" this really is.
There is no official definition of one hit wonder, but there are lots of definitions and interpretations and it seems to mean something different to each person. This is why we are on page 17 and still arguing about it in this thread and the dozens of other threads with this theme.

I have to bring this up since it's gaining traction on pop.. Post Malone isn't officially featured on "Fade" but he's on it. It's probably gonna go top 40 in a couple weeks..
