NOOOOO!!!! "My House" is losing airplay!!!! NO! Why can't it hang on and get a #3 peak in the Hot 100?
At least we have "PILLOWTALK", "I Took A Pill In Ibiza", and "7 Years" about to hit the top 10 in airplay.
YES! "Never Forget You" getting some good gains! Also some good gains for "Work From Home"!
Glad to see "Middle" gaining airplay again, I was getting a bit worried.
Oh, and LOL at Adam Levine passing himself at #74.
HOT 100 PREDICTIONS!!!
I'm telling you all right now (even though I have said it alot of times already), "NO" will be #1 in a couple weeks. Great airplay gains every week, music video, great sales, and some rising Spotify. All of the ingredients are there.
"Work" should get this week and probably next week at #1 (basically 2 more weeks at #1) It may get another week after that, but I don't think so. So here are my week by week top 3 predictions

If you subscribe, do it for online access only - the magazine is now next to pointless:
Billboard Magazine delivery is very iffy: Often the issues get to me 5, or 6 business days late. (That can be two weeks after the charts are posted). The magazine no longer publishes 51 weeks a year; More like 39 issues a year - meaning you will have huge chart gaps. They no longer publish the key Radio Songs, Digital Songs or Streaming Songs. Many of the charts are cut off below the Top 25 mark, making it a little confusing / incomplete. They also toggle lesser known charts so one week you will get Hot Rap Songs (for example), and you won't see it for another 6 weeks, as subsequent weeks fill in with things like "Adult / R&B" or "Gospel" Songs. One of THE prime charts - the Billboard 200 albums - is now squished into just two pages - with pictures and text it's bizarre.
I hate it - used to be so incredible. Don't know why they even bother - circulation must be tiny.

If you really want it then why don't you try www.song-database.com. It requires some donation to get the full access but after that you literally don't need any other website to look up a song's hot 100 chart run from 1958 and other specific genres' runs (but unfortunately no album chart) |

I'm still shocked by the fact that "Stitches" outlasted "Hello" and will do the same with "Sorry". AC and HAC is the main culprit, and the fact IKWYDLS didn't exactly smash helps Stitches recurrent play to remain largely untouched. How long has it been in Radio Songs top 10, by the way? It feels like it's been there for ages. |

I'm still shocked by the fact that "Stitches" outlasted "Hello" and will do the same with "Sorry". That's why I maintain the argument that Hello's chart performance is underwhelming. For a song debuted with such lofty points and literally crushed any other song in its first week, 10 weeks at no.1 and 18 weeks in top 10 (its short-lived radio and streaming are both responsible and it just doesn't have the vibe and worth for meme and its audience is not so streaming-friendly in a longer view) are both embarrassing. Songs like Candle In the Wind 1997, I Will Always Love You, Shake It Off or even See You Again all smashed their respective first week no.1 and got some insurmountable numbers, but they're more convincing of their staying power (12-14 weeks at no.1 or 24 weeks in top 10). Hello gives me the impression that if it's not for Adele absent for about 4 years and her last album was the no.1 album of all-time, it wouldn't have stood a chance of becoming a hit that has any longevity even though critics generally like the song. It's not that surprising to see that WWWY peaked at no.14 and still no idea of when it's official video's finally gonna be out. I think maybe 25 is kind of like Born This Way of Adele, and her star power is gonna decline even though the album sold that much in its first week. But who knows? |

What's the cutoff?
For such digital sale (#1 history: 1.12M) and streaming (#2 history: 61.6M) monster and airplay is super high as well (#11 history I guess: 170M, it's slightly lower than Stay With Me's audience peak), 18 weeks in the top 10 is truly underwhelming. Comparing to last year's biggest hit: Uptown Funk, 14 weeks at #1 and 31 weeks in top 10 isn't disappointing at all. See You Again on the other hand is embarrassing, too. However, it doesn't have sales and streaming that are as crazy as Hello. |

Regarding Hello, you are all forgetting that it's first five to six weeks on the chart are equivalent to about twelve at number one for a normal song, right? In total points, it's higher than many songs being compared to in here.

Yes, it is "embarrassing" for a song by someone of Adele's stature who has the BB200 alltime #1 album with '21' and busted out of the gate with '25' setting sales records for both the album and the song around the holiday shopping season to also not be setting longevity records in the process.
10 weeks at #1 and 18 weeks in the top 10 have been done over and over by artists with less notoriety than Adele.
Did I get that right? ;)

the only thing I'm disappointed about regarding Hello's chart performance is the fact that it was robbed of a year-end #1 because of being released/peaking in October.

It sold over a million copies in its first week, so if it's going to be devoured that instantly by the public then that leaves less room for longevity. "Hello" most certainly did not underperform in any way, shape, or form.
