I think Capitol was trying to keep it on the DL...much like with SOAB. They must hate me then, lol. It's literally less than a day though. Pulse in general is probably the bane of their existence. LOL

I love Elle King, so I'm looking forward to hearing this. She deserves to be huge.

Interesting collabo choice and for it to be announced as the new single, too. Definitely looking forward to a new single so we can move past "Somewhere on a Beach," and I quite liked "Ex's and Oh's" so I'm certainly intrigued about hearing this one.

Another duet (Blake/Gwen - Brad /Demi) from a country star and a star from other genre. I hope it is a collaboration less pop than the others, in particular for the Elle's music past (country, folk, alternative influences). I'm curious.

Up on All Access. Good stuff I like it! Definitely a universal theme that I can even see in my own life as far differences guys and girls deal with in a break up.

Love this after one listen! I like the subject matter and I love the song. Glad they went with this one over the other pre-releases (though I liked those as well).

This is really good. Elle King definitely works on this song, their voices blend pretty well. Original idea for the song and the production is really solid, I love that they kept it quite minimal instead of drowning it out with a wall of sound. I'll predict this will be a decent sized hit and will be another #1 for Dierks. Great choice for single #2.

Much better than duets Blake / Gwen and Brad / Demi. More mature song, not shouted and well interpreted. Good performance of Elle. Dierks by now is a superstar of the format. Bravo!

Artist: Dierks Bentley (feat. Elle King) Single: "Different For Girls" Writers: J.T. Harding, Shane McAnally Album: BlackLabel: Capitol Nashville Release Date: May 24th - May 27th Impact Date: June 6th, 2016 Source: Country Aircheck pbs.twimg.com/media/CjYM_idXEAA1N8f.jpgDierks' second single from Black will drop this week. I'm expecting a Friday debut. I think carriekins is okay with me doing this. I have no idea why you decided to do four consecutive posts with the cover art, lol. One of which quoted me and inserted it in the thread starter. I will get to it now. I didn't earlier this morning because I was busy. You can embed the image like this. Wow, I love this. The production and arrangement is stellar and so is Dierks' vocals.

Whoa, I didn't expect them to sound this good together! The harmonies and production of this song are absolutely stellar. I'm loving everything from this album that I've heard thus far and super excited to hear the rest!

I get a real "Draw Me a Map" vibe from the sound of this. Anyone else?
My only complaint is I can't really understand what she is saying.
I like the violin (I think) but I hate how so many songs use the driving drum beat now even when it's completely unnecessary.

WOW! This is incredible! Better than any of the male-female duets being released from Country acts this year (Blake and Brad) It's very good. Could pave the way for "America's Sweetheart" and other Elle King singles at country too. Hopefully! America's Sweetheart is just fantastic and it would be amazing if it ever got the chance to catch on.

Love Elle King, like the production, don't like the lyrics. Anything is better than "Somewhere On A Beach" though.

Wow, absolutely love this. I think I like this one more than any of the singles from Riser already, and that was a good set of songs, too. These two pair really well together indeed.

I do, however, understand where you're going with Draw Me a Map. Also, I just got my copy of the album and there is a KILLER dobro solo in Can't Be Replaced.

I love this, so excited to start hearing it on the radio instead of "Somewhere On A Beach".

I like Elle King's voice, but I wish he had gone with a country singer instead. So many ladies out there that could use the exposure. I really dig this, though! The lyrics are nothing special IMO, but it's pretty catchy, it doesn't get repetitive and it's definitely better than SOAB.

If only this were Cam instead since they're tour mates right now. :'(
I don't really like Elle King, but I'll give this a listen when I can.
ETA: Oh, I really like this actually. Cam would have sounded great I bet, too bad we'll never know
ETA 2: I ended up downloading his album and I really like it as well! Nothing is really like "Somewhere on a Beach" (which I'm starting to get into now lol). My favorite is probably "Roses and a Time Machine".

Good song, but girls dont act any different after breakups, so the whole concept is a bit strange. Seems like a reach in an attempt for original idea.
There are sensitive men, tough men, sensitive women, tough women... and the lyrics totally make all men look like shallow pigs... strange strange
But he did make drunk on a plane and somewhere on a beach, so maybe he's playing off how he acted in those songs.

I get what you're going for here, and I'm a man who would not react the way that the song suggests I should, but... I still find nothing really inaccurate about the song. Men and women are fundamentally different genetically and it does affect how they process things. It's not like Dierks just sat down and made up some stereotypes on his own. Maybe it paints with a broad brush but there's gonna be exceptions to everything.

Maybe it paints with a broad brush but there's gonna be exceptions to everything. Definitely true that genetically nothing is inaccurate, I guess I've seen too many Texas/Oklahoma women to even think this song is accurate lol. Since this song is stereotyping, I feel it's free game to stereotype, so I'll just say that country women aren't the type to have this song apply to. Now if the song was in the pop genre, it could work. I completely get what you are saying though, and dont blame Dierks at all. I guess it depends on what we've witnessed in our lives. The song is still really good and destined to be a hit. Many may relate to it, but I dont. Oh well. Ive also given it more thought and realized how well this song goes after "somwhere on a beach". He's pretty much describing that song perfectly in this song. So there may be a story element to it.

I like the song but can't help but think the lyrics are a bit off.. I think it's easier for girls to get over a breakup than guys.. By a wide margin.. If you are an attractive girl there are 92 guys waiting to date you the next day but as a guy if that unbelievable girl you're head over heels for leaves you are depressed for 5 years.
