Since this is going to radio next Thursday at 5:00 pm ET, I'm guessing hourly airplay for the rest of that day (the 28th) and the following day on iHeartMedia stations as well -- which is exactly the type of debut "Smoke Break" got 11 months ago. Similar to the debut for "Vice" earlier this week.
Shouldn't be a surprise. All three artists (Kenny, Carrie, Miranda) are under Sony Music Nashville.

Well P!nk is probably my least favorite Pop artist of all time, so I'm not too optimistic about this. Hopefully her part will be very small, because honestly she's awful.

To each their own, but she has had a successful career longer than most pop artists and is still very relevant on the pop chats 15+ years after her debut. She must be doing something right.

Can't wait to hear this. I'm curious as to how their voices will sound together on the same record.

Awesome to hear Pink is part of this. To the person above saying she is awful, must be deaf or thinks Miranda Lambert has a great voice (which is hard for me to even write her name and the word great in the same sentence). I hope this is better than Noise, because that song was awful.

No offence, but different people have different opinions. It's rude to call people deaf just because a person doesn't like a singer you like. For the record, I like both Pink and Miranda.

I really like P!nk's voice, as it has a passionate raw intensity to it that I love, songs like "Try", "Raise Your Glass", and "Just Give Me A Reason" are among my favorite pop singles of all time. With Kenny Chesney on this I am thrilled!

I hope this is better than Noise, because that song was awful. For the record, I never criticized P!nk's voice. I realize she can sing well, but I can't buy into any of her songs. Many of them I find to be quite cheese and lame. It's all about preferences, and I didn't attack anyone else for choosing to like her music. I simply gave my opinion, which is the whole point of this board. Also, while I dislike her music, I will say that I appreciate some of her morals and principles she chooses to stand for. I think she is a better role model for kids than many other Pop stars. I don't have a problem with her the person, only her music, which is an art form put out that can be fairly criticized.

I had a hunch this was gonna be next. Super excited about hearing P!nk on this. She's easily one of the most talented vocalists ever in my opinion so I'm thrilled!

Not a Kenny Chesney fan at all, but all of the singles he's put out over the past 5 years that featured Grace Potter were good, so I'm cautiously optimistic about him working with P!nk since she's great.

I can't wait for this. I've always been a big Kenny Chesney fan, and Pink is my favourite non-country singer, so I'm very much looking forward to hearing what they come up with together.

Elle King, Demi Lovato, and P!nk on the country charts. How about playing the females you already HAVE first, country radio?

Collaborations in country music with non country artists. It's to make it look like a huge collaboration of multi genres. Why don't some of these guys collaborate with female artists that could use a break (Lauren Alaina, Danielle Bradbery, Mickey Guyton, Lindsay Ell).

"Coming up next is the brand new duet with Kenny Chesney and Danielle Bradbery" is going to not grab listeners half as much as "Coming up next is the brand new duet with Kenny Chesney and pop superstar P!NK" - same with iTunes banners, suggested videos on YouTube, etc. These unique and unlikely collaborations are going to be much more likely to draw the casual country listener (or maybe those that don't particularly listen to country) in than a duet with a relatively unknown artist to the general public. Sure, it could still become a hit with Danielle, Mickey, Lauren, Lindsay, etc. etc. on the song, but the buzz around it would be significantly less. That's why these duets have been happening.

It just bugs me that these duets are happening with pop stars. I mean yeah they aren't going to draw as much buzz. I just wish that these male country singers would take the opportunity to have people hear these promising newcomers. I understand from a business perspective, but personally I'd rather see duets showcasing promisng newcomers. This article by Saving Country Music explains it better than I could www.savingcountrymusic.com/why-not-use-these-collaborations-to-help-develop-some-country-talent/

I just wish that these male country singers would take the opportunity to have people hear these promising newcomers. I understand from a business perspective, but personally I'd rather see duets showcasing promisng newcomers. Don't get me wrong, I wholeheartedly agree that it would be great to give some of these young women opportunities to be on a duet with a superstar to get some exposure. However, I highly doubt Kenny Chesney is the only one that has input on who the female voice on this duet was going to be. The label, managers, etc. play a part in that conversation too. I doubt P!NK was the only name thrown out on the list of potential collaborators, but Kenny and his team landed on her for a variety of reasons I'm sure. Also, even if Danielle, Lauren, etc. were featured on this song with Kenny, it likely would not mean that they would suddenly become successful with their follow up solo singles. Look at Cassadee Pope coming off of "Think of You" or Ashley Monroe coming off "Lonely Tonight" (a little different since Ashley isn't necessarily going for radio exposure, but the example still holds). Neither of these ladies saw much success with their follow ups to their #1 duets (assuming "Summer" continues its trend to flounder). So while it would be great in theory to use these duets to launch new female artists, it hasn't particularly worked yet. So why not go with a duet partner who is going to draw in more buzz? Again, I completely understand and agree with your frustrations here. Just playing devil's advocate a bit :)

You're absolutely right but this is a shame. Maybe if the artists focused more on the music and less on what sells and what will be popular, we'd have higher quality songs. A number 1 tune would be more than "dope" beats and a slick haircut.

With this trend of non country singers in duets going on, I'm sure we could have a good chance at seeing Thomas Rhett's label release "Playing With Fire" with Jordin Sparks as the final single. I mean I do like the song but I'm afraid we will miss out on great songs like "The Day You Stop Looking Back" and "Learned It From The Radio" being released. Also I highly doubt Zac Brown's label will go with this as a 5th country single but what are the odds we get their duet with Sara Bareilles, "Mango Tree" being released?

I'd say "Mango Tree" is the least likely album track of all-time to get a release to country radio.

Lol yeah, I'd say if there is any type of music that country radio would refuse more adamantly than traditional country music, it is definitely big band jazz music

I used to get pretty excited about cross-genre collaborations involving Country artists, but lately I've been completely burned out on them.
I honestly can't even remember the last time I was really impressed by a Country/Pop duet, so my expectations are pretty low for this.
Kenny has released some excellent singles over the past couple of years, and hopefully the quality of his material as of late isn't thrown out the window for the sake of creating a radio-friendly Pop tune.
Quality aside, I'm also interested to hear how this two will mesh as vocalists; Kenny has great material, but his tone is vanilla, while Pink's tone is more unique.

I'm very excited for this and might be setting my own expectations too high, but Pink is an amazing vocalist so I can't imagine this being anything but great. Can't wait to hear it.

As cool as I think it is that we get duets like "Think of You" and "Lonely Tonight" that showcase upcoming female country singers, it's not proving to exactly have much impact on the featured ladies' careers at country radio thus far, so I think the issue remains that country radio is not being more supportive of female artists in general and recording songs with P!nk, Kelly Clarkson, Demi Lovato, etc. instead isn't going to change much. It's nice seeing girls like Cassadee Pope get big mainstream exposure like that, but it's totally moot if radio turns around and doesn't even give her a chance as a solo artist afterwards.
Also, I imagine a lot of these duets happen because the artists want to work with these people, too. I see nothing wrong with Brad Paisley wanting to work together, and I'm pretty sure that's how we ended up with Demi on "Without a Fight" and not just a desire to find any willing pop female to sing on a track for him.

Less than one hour. Is there a radio station I should listen to to catch the premiere? If you can find an iHeartMedia station to listen to, they'll probably be playing it at the top of each hour this evening. You might try WSIX (it's out of Nashville). You can stream it online for free here: www.iheart.com/live/the-big-98-2157/
