Love ya .indulgecountry ....but I can think of about 20 videos that are better from this year than Peter Pan. And I am a Kelsea stan, but that video was a major let down. Not compared to Church Bells and Dirty Laundry...

Thank the good Lord in Heaven that Garth Brooks was excluded from Entertainer. Homegirl better walk away with that award here. I want Maren to win FVOTY though. And Miranda to take home Album. Then all my girls will take something home with them (except Kacey, but she didn't do anything this year so that's okay).
I'd LOVE to see Dierks win male. I'm hoping Stapleton doesn't win again, but he probably will.
Lol at "Tennessee Whiskey" and "Die a Happy Man" being nominated for Song though. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.

Things I'm happy about: *"Peter Pan" getting into the Video category is a big yasssssss! Awesome video! - Some of the Video nominees are hilarious. To me its, like we wanted to get you in other categories, but we only had so many spot, so we threw you into Video (Looking at Fire Away and especially, Peter Pan) Wait, seriously? "Peter Pan" was without a doubt one of the best country music videos of the year. It deserves to win that category, imo. I guess I need to watch it again. I remember it just being a copy of Faith Hill's "Breathe" video, but admittedly I only watched it 1-2 times in passing. Love ya .indulgecountry ....but I can think of about 20 videos that are better from this year than Peter Pan. And I am a Kelsea stan, but that video was a major let down. Not compared to Church Bells and Dirty Laundry... What do those two Carrie videos have to do with whether or not "Peter Pan" was quality video or a let down?

Honestly feeling a little conflicted by these noms, just because I appreciate a good chunk of 'em, but also loathe probably just as many, too. I'm honestly floored by the FGL love, most notably the AOTY and EOTY nominations. Eric Church's lack of presence here is absolutely abysmal. Kane Brown and Chris Lane really are terrible, and it's so sad that they get to tack "ACM-nominated" to the front of their names from here on out. Again, Brandy Clark still being considered "new" is pretty ridiculous. I'll never understand why Jason Aldean is so beloved by the ACMs, because he most certainly isn't by just about every other award show in the circuit (country or otherwise). Vocal Group is absolutely weak; LBT's name is likely already being printed inside the envelope. 4 nominees for New Female Vocalist instead of 5, and one of them is Brandy Clark? But the sexism problem is totally changing. "Peter Pan" for Video of the Year? Also, a little confused by "Tennessee Whiskey" for Song of the Year. Great song, of course, but...?
Having said all of that, it's great to see "Forever Country" on here a couple of times, as well as Songwriter nominations for Hillary Lindsey, Shane McAnally, and Lori McKenna. Carrie Underwood's EOTY nomination is wonderful, as well, and I'm hoping she'll take it, since I think either Miranda or Maren will win FVOTY. Speaking of, I'm thrilled that the both of 'em racked up so many nominations. As if I didn't already want ML to win Album of the Year, I especially want her to take it over...Dig Your Roots. Lauren Alaina's nomination made me incredibly happy, though I know that award is Maren's for the taking.
Overall, meh.

Very disappointed that "You Should Be Here" did not get a nomination for Song of the Year, or at least Video of the Year. Very disappointed.

I'm a little bewildered... how does the reigning CMA 'Entertainer' not get nominated for the ACMs? Isn't the voting community largely the same for both organizations? I get different winners occurring, but for the reigning CMA 'Entertainer' to be left out just months later at the ACMs has me super confused. This happens quite often, and I cannot figure out why!? Either way, I think Carrie has a real shot at EOTY, but who the hell knows?... these noms are all over the place!

Of course there is some overlap, but doesn't the ACMs bring in more radio and label personnel?

So I have some thoughts now that I'm home from work. I think Maren has a real shot at 'Female Vocalist'. However, she's also nominated for 'New Female' (which she will undoubtedly win), and then she'll likely win the overall 'New Artist' category - which is comprised of the winners of the New Female/Male/Group&Duo categories. Will they also give her 'Female Vocalist' if they give her 'New Artist' and 'New Female Vocalist'? I'm not sold on that... I think 'Female' is a three horse race consisting of Carrie, Maren, and Miranda, and I think Carrie has the edge here - She's the only female in 'Entertainer', and she really is the rightful winner when looking at 2016. She also won at the CMAs, so the support is definitely there. I do not think Miranda will take it, I think they'll give her 'Album', but she has a slew of nomination so she cannot be counted out. So I think Carrie will take 'Female', but I would not be shocked it Maren or Miranda take it, either.
I also think Carrie is the favorite for 'Entertainer', especially if she doesn't win 'Female'. Either way, I do not see anyone taking this one from Carrie except Luke, MAYBE Jason, but definitely not FGL or Keith. It's crazy, Keith has a ton of nominations but he could very well win none of them. I love the guy, he's one of my favorites, but I don't see him winning anything... Anyway, 'Entertainer' has Carrie's name all over it and I'll be pretty surprised if she doesn't win.

But does that mean we know the winners of the specific categories before the overall one so people can then vote? They need to do away with the split anyway. There aren't enough quality new acts each year to fill out these categories.

I guess I need to watch it again. I remember it just being a copy of Faith Hill's "Breathe" video, but admittedly I only watched it 1-2 times in passing. Nah. If anything it's more like the "Remind Me" video... Carrie's part in it anyway. It has a lot more going on in it than her just standing in a dress in the desert (and there's no bed scenes like in Faith's). So you must hate all of her other videos then because it's easily the best video she's ever done. Naw, I like all of them but Dibs, but I don't think they are award worthy. Except for maybe the CMTs. The LMLYMI and "Yeah Boy" videos are cute but incredibly basic and have little artistry or replay value at all, but "Peter Pan" had a big budget, outstanding video direction, set location, costume design, etc. We're definitely on different pages when it comes to her videos, lol. I think "Peter Pan" is the best music video of the year by a country female with ease.

Call me late to the party, but how come one of the biggest singles of the year (Better Man) isn't nominated. I thought it was released within the eligibility period...

It was released but I believe they are gonna try more for the CMAs and maybe the fact that it's impact has been more after the eligibility year so it'd have a better shot for next year's ACMS.

Last I checked, KEITH LEADS with 7, followed by Miranda and Maren with 5. Literally in tears. SEVEN. Seven. Trying to let that one sink in for a minute. He is NOT walking away empty handed this time out. I'm dang freaking certain of it. So. flipping. happy!!!!!! Calling it now, Maren takes home Female. Also so happy for her. Knew it was coming, been saying it for almost a year now. Between her and Miranda's nominations, I'm ecstatic. Also pumped that Jason got into the two big ones as well. Some of the nominations definitely are surprising to me though. Should be interesting to see what happens! Oh happy day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where are you getting seven? I count 5. If you're counting "Forever Country" then Miranda has 7 also. Keith is a Producer for "Blue Ain't Your Color" therefore he gets two extra nominations because BAYC was nominated in 2 different categories.

I don't really like that the ACMs do that and don't count it as one nominations, but whatever.

I SO want Carrie to win 'Entertainer'. Although she has won it before, it would be nice to see her win it based only on industry votes... I think she has a really good shot, but these things are so unpredictable!!!

Quick comments:
I'm thrilled about the "Forever Country" nominations. Since it was a project for the CMAs, I really didn't expect it to get noticed at any other awards show, but I'm very happy that the ACMs recognized it.
So happy for Miranda's nominations, too. IMO she really is a once in a generation artist, and this is quite possibly her best body of work. I'd love for her to take everything she's nominated for, but I really want her to win Album of the Year.
Carrie Underwood absolutely should win Entertainer of the Year. She also should have won at the CMAs, but without Garth Brooks or Eric Church in the category, I really feel that this is hers to lose.
More thoughts later, but those are my main take aways at this point.

Thought I'd do some predictions on performances:
Guaranteed: Jason Aldean Luke Bryan Carrie FGL Keith Urban Miranda Kelsea Ballerini Maren Morris Dierks Bentley LBT Lady A
Maybe: Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton and Maddie & Tae if they have new music ready Brothers Osborne Old Dominion Tim McGraw Kenny Chesney Blake Shelton Eric Church Rascal Flatts Brett Young and Lauren Alaina have the strongest cases of the remaining new artist nominees with both likely owning big hits during the week of the event
There will probably be some weird mash ups too.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a Faith Hill performance! I'm still expecting her and Tim to have something new ready around the start of their tour. Maybe she and Tim will perform a duet or something to kick off the tour! The ACM Awards would be a perfect platform to release something new :)

I agree on the Tim & Faith new music thing, I also think we get a new single (or at least a performance other then WSBF) from Miranda, and new music from Chris and Thomas (might be released before then to radio). I also wonder about new music from Luke and/or Jason (as that is the rumor). Oh, and I'd bet that Blake doesn't show, but Reba might perform (she has new music, fingers crossed)

Performance wise, I'm going to go out on a limb (quite a stretch, too) and say Shania will perform at the show this year. If she plans on having the lead single out in March and the album out in May, then the ACM Awards would be a great live debut of single #1. Then a few weeks later she has her headlining gig at Stagecoach. Stagecoach actually retweeted the most recent RollingStone article, mentioning new music...so it is almost a guarantee that new music will be heard then. Why not debut at the ACM's and gauge reactions?
I'd also say a Tim and Faith duet (even if it is "Keep Your Eyes On Me") would be a nice addition, too.
