A few thoughts:
- HOW did FGL get into album? HOW? They go from losing their only nomination at the CMA's to getting a nomination in nearly every category they are eligible for at the ACMs?
- Sad there is not enough Females to fill the New Artist category.
- Some of the Video nominees are hilarious. To me its, like we wanted to get you in other categories, but we only had so many spot, so we threw you into Video (Looking at Fire Away and especially, Peter Pan)
- I feel like Think of You (which I love) has been around for SO long. This has to be the last award this song is eligible for.
- These nominations prove the industry still loves Maddie & Tae and Kacey Musgraves regardless of their radio status.
- Eli Young Band is the most off-based nomination for me.
More to come.

Wait hold up. Florida Georgia Line got nominated for Entertainer of the Year over Eric Church? Has to be a misprint right? There's no way in hell.

I find it strange that they nominated "Forever Country", TWICE! It's cool and all, but it was a CMA project. I honestly thought the ACMs would stay far away from it.
PUKE to all the FGL nominations.
And thank God they got it right and put Carrie in EOTY!

At least Eli Young Band released a song and toured. How did Lady A get nominated? They didn't do anything at all during the eligibility period did they?

Woah... does Carrie have a shot at Entertainer without Garth in the mix!? Glad to see her there! Miranda seems like a lock for Female given her five noms, but wouldn't be shocked if Carrie or Maren won...

Looking quickly through the nominees, Keith, Miranda and FGL are leading with 5 nominations, followed by Maren (with 4) and Dierks (with 3)... not sure if I'm missing more people with +3 noms

Last I checked, KEITH LEADS with 7, followed by Miranda and Maren with 5. Literally in tears. SEVEN. Seven. Trying to let that one sink in for a minute. He is NOT walking away empty handed this time out. I'm dang freaking certain of it. So. flipping. happy!!!!!! Calling it now, Maren takes home Female. Also so happy for her. Knew it was coming, been saying it for almost a year now. Between her and Miranda's nominations, I'm ecstatic. Also pumped that Jason got into the two big ones as well. Some of the nominations definitely are surprising to me though. Should be interesting to see what happens! Oh happy day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOTY is very odd in general this year since "Tennessee Whiskey" (i.e. an old song that Stapleton covered) is nominated. I didn't realize cover songs were eligible. Woah... does Carrie have a shot at Entertainer without Garth in the mix!? Glad to see her there! Miranda seems like a lock for Female given her five noms, but wouldn't be shocked if Carrie or Maren won... I'm predicting Maren at this point since Lambert's new album hasn't produced a true radio hit as of yet.

Ok, I feel like they just threw darts at a wall for some of these nominations, they're just odd: Maddie & Tae? Chris Janson? FGL? I think Die a Happy Man won last year?

Hasn't anybody learned it's not about if the songs are any good or deserve to be played or nominated, it is all about money and judging by some of these ridiculous nominations, alot probably was spent to get certain nominations , otherwise how can it be explained why when an artist hasn't had a hit , gets nominated over someone who has.

Ew, the only albums worth awarding for Album of the year is Maren Morris and Miranda Lambert. The rest are pretty much garbage, especially Dierks Bentley and Keith Urban.
I don't mind the Lady Antebellum nomination, because who else would've gotten in. Parmalee, A Thousand Horses, The Band Perry? Yeah, Lady Antebellum is a pretty recognizable name, this is essentially like when. Sugarland was still getting nominated in 2013.
Besides that, I love the Lauren Alaina love. I do wish Lauren Alaina could've gotten in for Female Vocalist but I'm not shocked.
Also not shocked Florida Georgia Line got EOTY, they are like the biggest thing in country music right now and their music sells like hotcakes. I am also happy Maddie & Tae got nominated, hopefully new music is really soon for them.

Eh, I can think of several people who sell better (tour wise) & even album wise then FGL, who aren't nominated. Eric not getting a Male Vocal nom is pretty ridiculous. The AOTY category is a joke, but what else is new. John Pardi basically gets nothing, WMM gets totally shut out. Like half the people who got noms this year haven't even done anything lately. Sorry, but ACM's is so political it makes the CMA's look good.

Sorry, but ACM's is so political it makes the CMA's look good. Ok, I feel like EOTY should have more like 8 nominees like they did back in the late 2000s. For Jon Pardi, outside of New Male Artist, what else was he gonna get? Same with William Michael Morgan, and keep in mind William Michael Morgan's album sold horrendously. Jon Pardi wasn't gonna be getting single or song. Male Vocalist is way too competitive and his album didn't sound like something that would get nominated for AOTY. Besides the whole Lady Antebellum thing, every nominee released something during the eligibility year. Just artists like Cam, Maddie & Tae, Kacey Musgraves (she got nominated as she is the most critically acclaimed artist out there when it comes to solo females, outside of Brandy Clark, but she's less known), Eli Young Band haven't had anything recently as all of them are working on new music.

Things I'm happy about: *Carrie Underwood in EOTY with no Garth Brooks makes me think this could be her award. I don't see any of the other nominees taking aside from maybe Luke Bryan, but I feel like Carrie maybe has an edge being the only female. *Miranda and Maren getting a lot of love. I'd love to see "My Church" and "Vice" win Single/Song of the Year, respectively. And I'd be okay with either of them winning Album of the Year (which one of them will do), but I think and hope it'll still be Miranda Lambert that takes it. It'd be her fifth consecutive AOTY win at the ACMs. I'd be more than okay with Maren Morris winning Female Vocalist though. Miranda's still my girl so I'd be happy with another win for her, and I'd also love another win for Carrie Underwood seeing as she got it at the CMAs. *"Peter Pan" getting into the Video category is a big yasssssss! Awesome video! Things I could do without: *"Tennessee Whiskey" (wtf?) and "Die a Happy Man" ( ) in Song of the Year. *FGL being nominated for so much shit, especially Album of the Year. *The Male Vocalist category is kind of a hot mess. I guess it doesn't matter though because I'm sure Chris Stapleton is going to be the new Blake Shelton (lol @ him not being nominated tho) and probably win the award at both the major country shows for the foreseeable future. - Some of the Video nominees are hilarious. To me its, like we wanted to get you in other categories, but we only had so many spot, so we threw you into Video (Looking at Fire Away and especially, Peter Pan) Wait, seriously? "Peter Pan" was without a doubt one of the best country music videos of the year. It deserves to win that category, imo. Ok, I feel like they just threw darts at a wall for some of these nominations, they're just odd: Maddie & Tae? Maddie & Tae don't seem strange to me. They've been nominated the last couple years I believe and the industry seems to like them. They're also women so they can have them in there as a token 'see, we sometimes like females' nomination. I can't think of another duo who should've had their spot, either.

Ok, so this is totally my point: oh they've been nominated before, and well they didn't do much/anything because they're working on new music, aren't actually reasons for people/groups to be nominated. Yes it's basically the same people over and over again. That's basically admitting it's all politics.
And, yes I'm happy that Miranda got a bunch of noms, and Carrie got EOTY, but...hey my fav got nominated so I'm happy, doesn't mean overall the nominations were based on merit & not politics. I mean the difference between the grammy noms and the ACM noms is pretty insane.
I mean might as well make them fan voted, at least the fans spend money on the artists.

Who would you have put instead of Maddie & Tae for Vocal Duo of the year and Lady Antebellum for Vocal Group of the year. Maddie & Tae had "Shut Up & Fish" and "Sierra", while Lady Antebellum as a group didn't do much, both Charles Kelley and especially Hillary Scott were still on radio (Hillary for Christian Radio I believe). But they need to fill in 5 people per category and Duo/Group is pretty bare.

Runaway June, ZBB, High Valley, Locash, A thousand horses, turnpike troubadours (it's not actually bare, although obvs it's not as stacked as say MVOTY, also you could just fold the best du0 & best group categories together). It's not that their isn't enough talent, it's that the awards don't look at all outside big name music row. (I mean hello Margo Price, Sturgill etc).

LoCash didn't in for Vocal Duo of the year but they sell horrendously and have no real acclaim to them. Zac Brown Band, simple he has called out the awards before from what I read. A Thousand Horses did nothing, and High Valley is too new and not all that acclaimed.

I'm not saying any of those groups should win, but they've all done more recently then Maddie & Tae (& I like Maddie & Tae). But the same person/group shouldn't get nominated just because you don't like any of the new people enough. That's the definition of it being politics. (also they didn't bother with 5 slots for new female because apparently only 4 women count? like what? others exist)

Love ya .indulgecountry....but I can think of about 20 videos that are better from this year than Peter Pan. And I am a Kelsea stan, but that video was a major let down.
