Track #10 from Ed Sheeran's third album Γ· called "What Do I Know?", which has been sent to UK radio through HitDisc this week.

What? They're sending the follow-up to Galway Girl already? That means they probably won't push Galway Girl in the US after Castle On The Hill... Or they will push Galway Girl in the US while they push What Do I Know in the UK and worldwide... (But it will probably be the former) Mess

Just from the location used in the song, I always assumed Galway would be an overseas only single. But WDIK as a single anywhere has me pretty stunned. I'd much rather have Galway.

It actually makes sense in my opinion.
If I remember correctly, Ed's label wants to push "Perfect" as a single at some point and I'm sure they want to make it worldwide, so it will be a wrong decision if they do it now. I mean, "Galway Girl" is 'almost' done in the UK because it was removed from BBC Radio 1's playlist, but it's still on Capital FM's, so they may want to move into a new single there.
Also, "Castle on the Hill" is currently the US single, so I guess that "What Do I Know?" will be only a UK single (with possibilities of being pushed across Europe and Oceania) so far and when both of them peak, his label will be pushing a new WW single.

Why 'What do I know?' It's easily one of my least favorite songs on the album Hopefully 'New Man' and 'Happier' will be singles (but the ladder probably won't)

On the other hand I am glad this is probably only a UK single. I like the melody but any song that even tries to refer to politics and current state of the world is bound to make me very upset and nervous, even if its vague, so I'm glad the exposure to the "Waiting On The World To Change Part 2" won't be as big as if it was a US single...

I don't mind political songs or songs that are vaguely political like this one is, but I just don't think this song is very well done. It has a nice melody but it feels like a c-rate Jason Mraz album track. I'd probably prefer any song from the album over this one to be a single at any point.

This is terrible, and the only true bad song on the album, but it's really gutter-level bad. So bad that it significantly disrupts an otherwise good, if overly curated, album. It is a grave and pitiful insult to compare this to the fantastic 'Waiting On The World To Change'. I'd take any other song over this as being a single anywhere as well, but I get why they're sending out a placeholder until Perfect (which they've said they want to be a Q4 single) can hit everywhere at once. So yeah, this is probably the worst song from any of his albums.

Yeah, Waiting on the world to change was fantastic. Belief from that album was even better.

This is a pretty weird choice, but the dual singles, Castle blowing up mostly on it's own in the US, and then the songs going top 20 on their own in the UK have made for a very weird situation for the label. If it's just a "place-holder" until Perfect can be released WW, I guess it's OK.
