Does Love Lies sample something? I feel like I've heard the melody before.

Yep, after Camila left they signed for one more (the latest, self-titled effort). No news on any renewal and I don't think they've started recording anything new as a band.

Does Love Lies sample something? I feel like I've heard the melody before. Someone in the single thread said the hook reminded them of Post Malone's Big Lie (and I agree, the chord progression is pretty similar, but I don't think it was intentional).

Per Billboard, as "Love Lies" debuted at #43, Fifth Harmony has three members (Camila, Lauren, Normani) with solo Hot 100 entries. Previously, the same feat was achieved by all-female groups like The Go-Go's, Labelle, and Destiny's Child (Kelly, Beyonce, LeToya).

I mean, ride out the tour and call it a day. They haven’t done anything innovative or groundbreaking as a group, and the GP couldn’t care less if they stayed or went. They’re pretty well liked in the industry, and all could have successful solo careers. The industry is a big place now, and One Direction broke that “one will come out Beyonce, rest will be Kelly and Michelle’s” stereotype of disbanded groups.

Despite how salty the way things went down makes me, they went much farther than I ever expected of them following The X Factor, considering that show was a complete dud in the US. And at least I got one album without Camila, and hopefully Lauren'll get a solo album out even if none of them do big things post-FH.

Ally signed with Maverick and will continue to be represented by Larry Rudolph. He also manages the group, too.

They should try and get on DJ Khaled’s new album, they are label mates after all

Their label doesn't care about them and tried to sabotage their last album.

The same basic story plays out every time. It's always only a matter of time. The Writing's on the Wall.

Yeah, save for Little Mix, (those girls seem to genuinely like each other and being in the band), all these girlbands suffer the same fate.

It's sad because they had potential for so much more. Well, I wish them all the best on their solo endeavors.

The fact that they got dropped less than a year after releasing their album We all knew it was coming, but I thought they'd at least get another album out of it or something. They got dropped?

This was almost always going to happen. The whole dispute with Camila was that she wanted a hiatus after the second album & they wanted to expand success with their 3rd contract fulfilling album and then go on hiatus.

I mean, that's basically what this means. Clearly the label has no interest in them together, so they have to disband. AKA "go on hiatus". Their contract was two albums with an option for a third and they fought and got that third album in the end. They were free from their label which allowed them to get their solo deals while they are still actively in the group and completing their obligations.

*exhales* Kind of surprised they made this announcement while they still had group appearances to make but I get the sense that they're trying as much as possible to give out 'we still like each other, promise!' vibes so I can see how this would be a better look than the way theye timed their announcement when Camila left. I mean, that's basically what this means. Clearly the label has no interest in them together, so they have to disband. AKA "go on hiatus". Well, they don't have to disband. I believe their attorney successfully nabbed them the legal rights to the name Fifth Harmony (after Camila left, but before they started working on self-titled) so they can take it wherever they go. They just don't have anywhere to go right now as a group/it would take a while for them to find a new label and release another group album, so "taking a hiatus" while they pursue solo endeavors is the best option. The hope is probably that they are collectively successful enough to have some leverage when looking for a deal later.

Why are people surprised? Ah, but you already know most Camila fans are going to twist it like this makes 5H hypocritical for not agreeing to the hiatus Camila wanted. Even though anyone with a brain could see that a hiatus after the second album would have spelled death for the group and for the remaining members' solo careers.

I am still mad that someone in power decided Down should be the lead single from the last album. Terrible lyrics, a stupid chorus which has been done dozens of times before (including by them), an incredibly weak, basic, generic instrumental, no life in the song at all, a copy and paste rap feature, a boring video. It was a terrible song that shouldn’t have been on that album, or anyone’s album. It sounded like a song some rich ten year old who’s dad can kind of produce and wants to become famous would sing. There were so many better choices on the album, if not anything on the album. He Like That deserved so much better.
I really like these girls so I hope the best for them. Hopefully one day they can all regroup and release a comeback song. If someone with a significant amount of power and influence used their brain, they would try to get all of the One Direction guys and all of the Fifth Harmony girls onto one big comeback song

Down was exactly what they shouldn't release. He Like That is a great song imo, so catchy, it really deserved better. The music video is also amazing. But I think Down killed all the hype. Angel as a lead single would be a good choice. It has quality, the lyrics are interesting, and it sounds like the music trends lately.
