The album that never ends... I mean 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY' out now!

Wasn't that video filmed back before the virus stuff started? Why hasn't it come out yet?Likely because UMG was wanting to focus first on using their resources to get "Drinking Alone" as high up at radio as they can, which they will likely continue to do for at least the next month. I wouldn't be shocked if "Tears of Gold" still isn't coming out until about the middle to end of June.
Also, just a bit of speculation, which I'm likely VERY wrong about: On the website Typo shared, the director's addition of TOG to his resumé listed Carrie's name first under artist. I wonder if this is Carrie ft. David, and is once again a between-the-eras one-off single, or if it's perhaps (this is where I know I'm very likely wrong) from CU7. I wonder about it being CU7 because of the way UMG is known for releasing multiple singles before an album drops, sometimes over a year until the project comes out. A prime example of that would be Keith Urban's album Ripcord. It was released May 2016, but its lead single was released clear out in June 2015. (In an eerily similar release to CP, his previous album Fuse had been released September 10, 2013.) So following that, if UMG were to be that similar with everything, CP was released September 14, 2018 and CU7 would be out May 2021, with "Tears of Gold" out in June 2020. "Tears Of Gold" is likely just a one-off, and maybe not even Carrie's song, idk. I'm just excited lol. I'm not sure about your second point. Cry Pretty the song came out in April 2018 and the album came out in September of the same year. That's only a 5-month difference. So I don't know if it's an all artist type of thing. Whatever the case may be, I'm excited.

Carrie’s fit52 app is now available in Europe, The UK, Australia, and New Zealand.
I’d love to know how the app is doing? Is that information made public?

Today marks 15 years since Carrie won American Idol! What a ride it has been, I’ll never forget that winning moment. youtu.be/lt0zzUFrmFQ

15 years. Isn't it crazy how fast time goes? It honestly seems like yesterday I was listening to Some Hearts for the first time.

Someone on the American Idol message board PMed me files of “Jesus, Take the Wheel” and “Some Hearts” before the album was released. This was around late October of 2005, when the promo CDs had been sent to country and AC, respectively. Took forever to download the files, but I was the coolest girl at cheerleading practice because I had the ‘secret’ Carrie Underwood songs before they came out. 😂 Oh, to be 14 again.

I had gotten hands on a leaked version, too, but I still went to Walmart and purchased a copy when it came out - I was 13, so I basically made my dad take me to get a copy 😂 “Some Hearts” was literally everything a fan of Carrie could want at the time. It was perfect. Amazing songs with spectacular vocals, one after another. Everything you’d expect from Carrie after what she portrayed on “Idol”. I still feel the era was cut way short; honestly the album should’ve been Diamond by now - and it totally had the material and legs to do make it happen. A fifth single, for which there were many candidates, totally could’ve extended its legs. I mean, while “Carnival Ride” was out, and had been for a year, “Some Hearts” was still regularly charting on the BB200, and during the holidays it was still climbing into the top 10 of the country albums chart. The “Some Hearts” era in all of its amazingness was quite short and honestly, if they went just a little longer, it could have been the last Diamond country album. Some food for thought, I guess.

I locked myself in my bedroom so my little brother couldn’t interrupt me blasting it on the stereo. Such sweet memories.

Uhhhh this just announced: www.nashcountrydaily.com/2020/05/25/carrie-underwood-mike-fisher-open-up-about-faith-marriage-loss-more-in-4-part-short-film-god-country-watch-trailer/“Carrie Underwood and husband Mike Fisher open up about their faith, love, family, marriage, friendship and more in a new four-part digital short film, Mike and Carrie: God & Country. The four-part weekly series will air its first episode on May 27 via iamsecond.com, a nonprofit that features athletes and entertainers “who have found hope through a relationship with Jesus.” “We wanted to do this to share some of our personal journey in hopes that viewers will be inspired by it, and maybe even take one more step in pursuing a relationship with God,” said Carrie. Carrie, 37, and Mike, 39, will celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary on July 10, 2020. They have two sons, Isaiah, 5, and Jacob, 1. In 2018, Mike retired from the NHL after 18 years, including eight for the Nashville Predators. Carrie, of course, is a seven-time Grammy winner who has become one of country music’s biggest stars since winning American Idol in 2005.”

i saw Mike post about this on IG the other day! Stoked! If it were to overlap with my church’s current sermon series, I’d be in awe.

I see your point, but I also see why they wanted to get Carnival Ride out sooner rather than later. Strike while the iron is hot, kind of thing. EDIT: I always wondered how Some Hearts would have done with a rerelease. I'm glad we got Carnival Ride instead ultimately, but a Some Hearts rerelease in mid-2007 would've been epic and easily pushed it into diamond territory.

Starting in June, we should do a weekly album retrospective in which we discuss everything associated with each album era: Evolution, songs, singles, productions, label and contract negotiations, etc. It’ll be fun!

I see that too, and obviously everything worked out just fine. “Carnival Ride” was a monstrous era as well. I just think SH was on a massive high with BHC crossing over in 2007; if they followed “Wasted” on country radio with [insert any SH track] while BHC was crushing it on pop radio, “Some Hearts” would have been selling even more - it was the best selling country album three years in a row; it was still killing it well into 2008. Now considering how close to Diamond it is (8x Platinum), it’s kind of a sweet aspiration that certainly could have been. Back between 2006-2008, RIAA certifications for Carrie were dropping like daily... I’m sure SH could have sold quite a bit more if they continued riding the wave.

Well, to be fair, the album was also released during the golden age of music piracy. If it had been released even five years earlier, it could have racked up even more units for certification.

DA remains at #10 (+108 spins/+.429 AIs)
I think Carrie’s finally making a run at top 5 or higher. Thanks to Maddkat over at CF.

What a beautiful first episode. It was really shocking to learn about Mike's struggles in the past and it was so lovely to see how he was brought out of it through the grace of God. And those texts to their friends after meeting were so cute. Carrie's "hot hot hot" was/is relatable!
Episode 2 is gonna make me bawl again. I can't imagine the pain of losing three consecutive children and I'm bracing myself knowing that that's a main topic of Episode 2.

Would love to see her speak up and say something about all that’s going on in the world. Obviously I adore CU, but if there’s one thing I’ve grown increasingly frustrated by, it’s her complacency on a lot of big issues that need to be acknowledged. Especially by someone in her position, who has the ears of people who need to be privy to such statements. It’s just not cute or respectable to be “neutral.”

I feel like a lot of celebrities are afraid of saying the wrong thing and pissing people off. Saying the wrong thing will make a lot of fans leave and people hate on her. It's a lose/lose situation unless she says something everyone agrees with.

I get what you mean, but from following Carrie throughout her journey with regards to her faith, politics, health and fitness, etc, I think she does not see herself as someone to “promote” her ideas or beliefs. I think this has a lot to do with her humble nature. She seems to realize what works for her and who she is, but doesn’t feel the need to push her beliefs on others.

Obviously I get both of those points, and I don’t disagree with either, as I imagine that’s how she approaches things. I’m just saying I think there are moments, such as these, where right vs. wrong is clear, and people (celebrities included) need to universally raise their voices and actions. Complacency needs to be compromised.
Don’t mean to ruffle any feathers here by saying this, of course. Obviously this isn’t a make-or-break deal for me in regards to how much I continue to love and adore her, but it’s been a growing concern of mine for a couple of years now.

I agree with 14887fan . I really wish she would use her platform to speak out on these issues. I thought she would've said something to be quite honest, considering her posts about modern-day slavery, so I personally am shocked that she posted nothing regarding George Floyd. Of course, this won't make-or-break my support of her either, as I know she's one to disagree with this incredulousness and sickening world we live in, and just not say anything. I just wish she'd make it known tho, because this is one of those things where silence shouldn't be an option, and celebrities need to use the voices they have to spread awareness on these issues.

I'm confused at what you're saying here (regarding the bolded). She does promote her faith (which is a belief), she does promote her health and fitness (which is an idea). So, it's really only politics she doesn't promote. With that said, I do get it. But at what seems like a turning point in our country, it makes me do a double take why Carrie hasn't said anything.
