^True. Can it really be up to Marilyn Manson's album?

^True. Can it really be up to Marilyn Manson's album? Kane Brown will likely do well enough to clear the hurdle.

^That's another possibility. Rock and Country artists are good sellers. If someone does a ticket bundle, I'd say for sure.

Random question but I don't really follow the country radio so is the ageism there same than in pop radio? Will acts like Garth Brooks or Martina McBride get some love these days? For females ageism definitely exists. Even Reba's getting phased out by radio. I think for males it's much less of a thing when acts like Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, and Keith Urban are still the format's top superstars. Even George Strait was able to have hits until around 5 years ago. Garth is pretty close to getting his first top 10 in ten years with "Ask Me How I Know" btw. I don't think radio is ageist as much as the audience for female acts - especially pop acts - seems much more fickle. Foo Fighters or Red Hot Chili Peppers can release a new album without a hit and their audience will still be there. Fergie gets out of the spotlight for some years, and then does she still have a fanbase?

Interesting to see where Tom Petty lands. Possibly his GH ends up top 10?

An updated new estimate: A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie (Atlantic) 50-55k
It seems Miley could be #4 or #5.

Damn, Miley must be flopping HARD if she's being outperformed by a nobody like A Boogie With Da Hoodie. Compared to what Bangerz did first week, those numbers are terrible.

Wish Tom Petty would be 1 Just because he died? I like him but no Shania deserves it more after all she's been through.

Shania herself probably wouldn't mind losing number one to Tom Petty, especially given the circumstances. But I'm cool with either one of them being number one. At the very least several of his past albums will get new peaks, and he did finally score his first number one album in 2014 with "Hypnotic Eye".

Why do people keep commenting about Miley?
It's been 4 years since her last album.
Malibu was a nice sized hit a few months ago.
Her current single got 17 first week adds at Top 40 radio.
and...
And Shania Twain's sales are pumped up with buy a t-shirt, get a cd. But a tour program, get a cd.
Shania is using Janet Jackson's tricks, I mean, marketing that Janet used for her Unbreakable album.

Because the numbers are a massive drop from Bangerz, even with the current sales climate. Demi Lovato is outselling her for the first time in her career.

That is NOT who Boogie With Da Hoodie is. Are you sure? Yeah...and all it took was a simple Google search. You should try it!

She "deserves" it more "because of what she has been through" - just sounds really funny when you are comparing it to what Tom Petty has been through. If he never had a #1 album or was sick I would be definitely rooting for him to go to #1 but he's sadly gone and it's not going to affect him like it will Shania. It will be such a triumph for her after she lost her voice from lyme disease, her husband/producer/co-songwriter, best friend and is basically be shunned by country radio because of her age & gender.

Ah I see, so she has endured a fate worse than death as it were - LOL She may indeed get #1 because of the concert-ticket-bundle gimmick. as alluded to earlier, nothing wrong with that, others have done it. Should it be a surprise that she is not immediately churning out the hits after being basically gone for 15 years? The once-in-a-career 'Come On Over' phenomenon was also basically 20 years ago. The main audience that 'consumes' music today was not even alive then
