I think this will do well, not sure why they waited so long to launch this when they could have done it at the VMAs.

I loved the performance. I still have my reservations about this being the single, but I'm glad we're getting a music video. Maybe this being bolder and just more out there will actually help it do well on radio? Who knows, I sure hope so.

I don't get why we are talking about the first three singles being "rejected" by people anyway. Look What You Made Me Do is a hit by any standards-full stop. Ready For It had a stupidly bungled, weird release and still ended up doing fairly well-it sold a lot and is still one of her most streamed songs from the entire album, despite them pushing Delicate 10X as hard there. End Game hit top 10 on pop and is probably the closest to being rejected, but top 10 is still an absolute dream for most pop stars "rejected" hits lol. It was also boring as hell which no one can say IDSB is.
That being said, I am not sure this will hit, but people way exaggerate how badly the singles did from Reputation so far.
This is an interesting choice. I guess we will see if the good will from her coming out politically, so to say, and a good video will push this to be a hit.

Have this even appeared in itunes top 100 after that ama performance? i feel like taylor's first televised performance in a while should have had more immediate impact.

CAn't believe they're trying to extend the era with another song! I feel like this song's vibe is more in line with LWYMMD, which didn't really resonate that well. Delicate performed best, which had more of a 1989 vibe. So I'm surprised they didn't go with Getaway Car... unless they're planning on going 7 singles deep on this album, which would be insanity.

Yaaaassssss this is the one song on the album I needed to be a single. A banger. I need her to release the best video of the era.
If this can hit, it will definitely push sales through the holidays. Maybe a final single debuting at the Grammys (Donβt Blame Me, Getaway Car, or Gorgeous). Perfect single choices this era. Timing was off but the right ones got picked.

I liked parts, but was pretty much bored by this. It felt like it went on forever. I have never heard the song before, but it didnβt do much for me. I wouldβve preferred Delicate to be honest.

Oooh this is interesting. I'd personally have preferred Getaway Car (Which is doing decently here in Oceania) or CIWYW but this still is far from the worst choice. But again, if End Game didn't do well with the features and IMO a more pop-friendly sound it's hard to see this do much better :(
Still rooting for this to do well, but I'm treading cautiously here lol.

I'm so excited about this "next chapter." What if she makes a surprise release for TS7 by end of October or early November?
I really love that performance. Loved every second of it. Can't wait for that badass video.

Really surprised, honestly.
I knew they were going to have a fifth because of #HolidaySales though.

Really did not like the song (first time hearing) or performance. Seemed very lowest common denominator. Especially coming off something as artful and fresh as Delicate.

I cannot believe it was not DONT BLAME ME.
This is a jam, but probably should have been the lead single.

Chart-performance aside it is one of the best songs left on the album. I hope we get a killer video out of it.
Kinda sucks for Getaway Car and Don't Blame Me though.

I feel like this song's vibe is more in line with LWYMMD, which didn't really resonate that well. I don't think it was the lyrical content that hurt LLWYMMD. I think it was the fact the main hook sampled "I'm Too Sexy."

The LWYMMD chorus wasn't that catchy either. I love the track but anyone who was expecting a natural follow-up to the 1989 earworms had to wait until "Delicate" (unless they checked the album and found that and "Getaway Car" ).

This song is way more catchy than Look What You Made Me Do, Ready For It and End Game. Those three songs sounded weird and unfinished, they really didn't have hook to grab onto and the music itself didn't lend itself to multiple listens (even though I love all those songs).
I Did Something Bad is an actual song, it follows the verse-hook-verse-bridge-hook and has some actual rhythm. I remember last year when radio stations around the country were playing all the tracks from Reputation to promote Taylor's tour, you listen in and text a certain number and hope that you get tickets. This song and Delicate got some of the best reception out of all the tracks.

Was hoping for "Getaway Car", but this was one of the best choices left, so can't complain too much about that. I really like Taylor.'s point about spinning this in a "take down the patriarchy" angle, combined with her Instagram post, I could see that working. Taylor's IG post was pretty well thought through, but the timing was really smart too. Get people talking and then the AMAs to the launch of this single. Pretty flawless execution if you ask me.
