“Sixteen” is a great choice and a really good song, but man, R.I.P. “Drink A Little Beer”, the barnyard burner that should have been a smash.

I just feel like DALB was never going to be a single. It's old country with lots of fiddle. That's not Thomas' style...how would he even play it live? Was never going to happen.
Too bad too, because obviously tons of us here (myself included) love it.

I feel "Drink a Little Beer" or "Grave" should have been next. I don't mind "Sixteen" though. Would've preferred a more traditional sounding single.

Oh well. Sixteen is great and all, but Drink a Little Beer is a smash waiting to happen. And that's how it'll stay, waiting to happen :(
Anyway, what's up with that video for Leave Right Now with one of those pop remixes? Was it pushed to pop? I never heard anything about it until I watched the video itself.

I had never heard "Drink a Little Beer" before but I decided to give it a spin because of the hype from in here and I didn't care for it at all. That one doesn't sound like an undeniable hit imo. I feel like it would be one of his softest hits to date and like some others have said, it doesn't fit him or his brand as an artist at all. The vocals sounded oddly processed on the track and a bit off-putting. Far from the Easton Corbin-esque jam I was expecting when I listened to it. "Sixteen" is a much better choice.

The only thing I'm surprised by on not going with "Drink A Little Beer" is I thought for sure they were going to try to give Rhett Akins a David Lee Murphy-like comeback with that song.

I mean, they probably could have. Almost went Top 50 on country radio without officially being sent. Peaked at #51, I think.

Hot 100: #46 (+3) Country Airplay: #6 (+1) Country Songs: #8 (+2)
So maybe a Top 40 peak for this? Or will it be like "T-Shirt" and just barely miss?

I agree, I like the song just like I enjoy almost everything he has done so far, but I never saw it as a single. Honestly, the Nashville Mix of "Leave Right Now" would be a better single choice, too.

Officially a top five hit for Thomas Rhett as it moves from #6 to #5 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart this week.

Is it odd his lead single is getting outpeaked multiple times by future singles, or was "Craving You" not as big a hit as I thought?

I personally view that song as a pandering copy of The Weeknd with a terrible underutilization of Maren Morris. I've probably heard it twice since it went recurrent, so maybe I'm not alone. The subsequent singles were definitely more noteworthy, in my eyes. It did outpeak "Unforgettable" but was that mostly because it was a lead?

My post wasn't meant to infer that "Craving You" wasn't a big hit because I didn't like it lol.
Just based on radio recurrent play, streaming, and sales I would say it was the least hit of the four singles so far, regardless of top 100 peak...which was the original question posed.

I think "Craving You" was a pretty big hit... I thought so. What would you say is the weakest single in terms of success? "Unforgettable"? Even with the album boosting it, it only peaked at #47.

Even with the album boosting it, it only peaked at #47. ”Unforgettable” definitely, it’s had the lowest sales so far (“Life Changes” will probably be even lower though). Weirdly, though, it has around the same amount of streams as “Craving You” on Spotify.

Apparently, that song was on country streaming playlists for such a long time, it caught up to "Craving You" (it was on there at the same time as "Life Changes", "Marry Me", and "Leave Right Now"). I'm surprised "Unforgettable" wasn't that big, though I suppose it was a bit of a generic love song.

Should it be concerning that this was removed from the Hot Country playlist? It already had not great streaming as it is. It peaked barely in the Top 200 on Spotify.

What would be concerning about it? It's about to hit #1 on country radio and then they'll be moving on to "Sixteen." Being removed from that Spotify playlist indicates nothing, honestly.
