I’m honestly surprised it didn’t hit active earlier. I mean Weezer have charted there before, and this is a pretty faithful cover of a classic rock song that active could feasibly play as a recurrent.
Now Feels Like Summer charting on active...

Good for Weezer. I love when bands get these random, surprise hits.
CHR History:
Buddy Holly #21 (1995) Say It Ain't So #46 (1995) Beverly Hills #2 (2005) Perfect Situation #47 (2006)
They had a 10 year gap in the 90s and now they have a 12 year gap. This has to be one of the biggest double gaps in CHR history!
Top 40 hit in 1995, 2005, and 2018. any other groups you guys can think of that have done this?

3 3 WEEZER Africa 2854 2831 23 11.148
Nice to see this song stabilizing somewhat after taking a pretty hard tumble from #1. Wonder if its getting a minor second wind due to its multi format success? (It’s also #3 on HAC and it just cracked the top 30 on CHR).

I just can't get in to this cover. Me either. I love Weezer. I don't love the song to begin with, honestly, but it's almost like it's TOO similar to the iconic original that it just falls flat for me. It's like a tribute band version. It's weird because sometimes I question why artists can't be more true to the original when covering songs, but then I hear this and I know why. lol.

You can be faithful to the original and still bring that extra something to the song. But when your cover sounds like a karaoke version, why bother?
(Oh right, the internet.)

They sang it exactly like the original. In fact it made me want to hear the original more. Not exactly. They shortened down the intro, which is one of the parts of the original song that I loved the most. some of the main reasons I never got into this cover is also the vocals. John Toto's lead singer(can't recall his name) fits the atmosphere of the song, the instruments. The flutes, the gong, ect.., but most of all. Weezer's version strips the song of its original epic fade out. At least that's what I heard. On a different note Toto's "Hashpipe" hits that Weezer button, because they kept all the juicy parts of the song intact...and then some.

So maybe I was hearing Toto at Anytime Fitness playing and not Weezer....I only heard that Weezer song on MC one time and from what I saw it sounded like a carbon copy.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I actually prefer this to the original. It's so rare to actually hear a pop rock song in 2018.

Also most of the originals great harmonies are either missing or low in the mix, the synth solo is a lot different, and Steve Lukathers guitar lines are replaced by Weezery power chords
