This is going to be her next overseas single so far. The track has been sent to UK radio (it's already playlisted by BBC Radio 2 as previously mentioned) through the latest HitDisc compilation and AUS radio this week. That said, I don't know if there will be a split release or not, but let's wait until there is an announcement that this is pushed to Country radio, so this thread could be moved there.

Honestly, this was the right choice. It’s the more radio friendly of the two released songs and has a great message.

This song is phenomenal and has stayed on repeat and stuck in my head since the first time I heard it. I expect this one to smash and be a huge hit for her, and I am so excited to see the music video for it. That clip looks stunning!

So excited to see my friend in a Carrie Underwood video! This better be epic :)
On this as a single: it is miles better than "Cry Pretty" and probably a good choice that will generate buzz for its message. I start to doubt how much I like this until I hear it again and realize how good it is. Its just so powerful listening to it. Ready for this live performance at the CMAs!

I thought the video was pretty good... Carrie looked amazing (what else is new?) and I liked the colors. The song is so just paint by the numbers basic... ugh. I have tried to like it because I want to like the message, but the more I listen, the more I cringe at how there isn't really a message. Just saying love wins over and over but not saying how we can get there. Oh well. I think this will be a decent sized hit nonetheless.

I genuinely adore the video. It's so warm. I also don't know that we've ever seen her be so energetic and lively in a video like this before? It's just so carefree and fun. It's nothing incredible or mega-massive or anything, but it's definitely enjoyable. I'm happy with it.

A stunning vocal from Carrie, for sure... but the song itself is just too cheesy, generic, and trite. She can do way better than this.

The music video for the song is nice, I especially love Carrie's orange dress and how that contrasts so well with the blue clear sky. It made me like the song a tad more, but I'm still not sold on this song. It sounds a bit... generic (?) for a lack of better word? I feel like these types of songs have been done and it's not a bad thing to have songs in this vein but I just am not convinced yet that this song brings anything exciting to the table. I'm definitely in the minority that prefers "Cry Pretty" over this one for now.
I'm still looking forward to her album but I'm not quite excited as I was for previous Carrie releases based on the songs I've been hearing. Hopefully it's great!

The color cannons are amazing, and the second half of the video is a lot of fun. First half is a snoozefest. This will do better than 'Cry Pretty' for sure, but some of the clips from the album sound much better than the two singles so far.

All that video does for me is highlight how trite and empty that song is. Don’t get why they’re running with this one.

I like this song well enough. I think it will grow on me for sure. However, like others have said, this falls a bit short for me. I love the message of the song, but I want it to go deeper. This actually reminds me of a quote by Kacey Musgraves in an interview posted today. I can't help but think she was referring to stuff like this... www.billboard.com/articles/columns/country/8474550/kacey-musgraves-interview-2018-cma-nominations-gender-disparity "I’ve seen more women writing more varied lyrics and being more than just a big voice or a pretty face, as opposed to years in the somewhat recent past. "

I've honestly been wondering if they're trying to capture some of that Golden Hour magic with these last two releases (LW and EUWY), but the lyrics aren't there. The latter has that charming, easy, melodic feel of Kacey's last album, though, and the aesthetic of the LW video is reminiscent of what Kacey's been doing visually this era.

"I would hope that Kacey wasn't referring to Carrie in that quote. But if she is, it is hopefully more of a difference in approach to lyrics and songwriting rathern than shade. For instance, I agree that the lyrics to "Love Wins" are more broad and simplistic as opposed to a detailed examination of love...winning. Especially compared to the well-written lyrics of a song like "Follow Your Arrow." But the message of LW is as strong and clear as ever about how love unites. As EW summarizes: And, really, the past 8-10 years have been full of discord and disunity. Politically, socially, etc... the theme for the past decade has been how the only way to get ahead is a zero sum game - one side must win, the other side must lose. Carrie addresses this in the song when she sings about how everyone "has to pick a side, it doesn't matter if you are wrong or right." But when was the last time we had a song, by a star of Carrie's caliber, this powerful and blunt about how much more powerful we are united?
The lyrics are not as nuanced as we might like, but the emotions the song elevates are just as powerful as detailed lyrics IMO. And, as a side note, if Kacey is throwing shade to Carrie for only having a voice, Carrie's voice has consistently elevated important topics with detailed, or at least more well written, lyrics in most of her albums: Blown Away - parental abuse Church Bells - spousal abuse Little Toy Guns - divorce Two Black Cadillacs - (provoked) murder Something in the Water - the power of Christ Cry Pretty - the unrealistic expectations of womanhood (Not including The Bullet or Spinning Bottles because I have not heard them). TL;DR: Carrie's catalogue is as varied as they come, and while not every song is written with the details of Merry Go Round, songs that arose emotion like Carrie's can be just as powerful. And of course, I totally understand if someone just doesn't like the song, or Carrie's catalogue, because they are "too cheesy." But seeing someone (possibly) describe Carrie as an artist just with a "big voice" struck a nerve.

I don't think Kacey meant literally any shade by that whatsoever.

The video wasn't exactly the home run I was hoping for when I started it, but I definitely liked it and it's a huge step up from the visual for "Cry Pretty," as is the song itself imo. I will say that she looks absolutely stunning in that orange dress against the blue sky background. That was so visually appetizing from a color standpoint. The color cannons was fun and I loved her butterfly belt -- that felt very Dolly Parton-esque to me. Still not feeling the penchant she has for glittery eye makeup this era though.

As hollow as this song is, the chorus is so anthemic I get caught up in it. That being said, WTF at this being a single? This album has very clear smashes and it's like they're going out of their way to not release them.

The video is pretty ( ) but I was expecting a storyline, given the song itself is so vague and middle of the road. Some stunning shots and I really hope she brings the colour canons for the tour!
