Yeah if this song isn't Top 20 by the end of January I would be concerned. No offense but Runaway June a relatively unknown trio should not have a higher bullet than Florida Georgia Line any day of the week on Mediabase. I know that probably tomorrow the FGL bullet will be bigger but Florida Georgia Line should not have a double digit spins gained in a week it should be in the 200s at least. The sales for this song are solid at #323 on the iTunes all genre chart. So hopefully during the new year and after the slowdown on the charts this song can get somewhat of a spark. I agree the bullet is definitely strange. It just seems like there is little interest from both radio and consumers. A second single from a still unreleased album should be performing far better, even this early, from FGL. I honestly wonder if in their next record they go back to the sound of their debut album--not necessarily the bro-themed lyrics, but a bit more upbeat and twangy all around.

I'd say this was moving a little too slowly by their standards if that wasn't literally the case for almost everything on the charts right now. The chart is so clogged up lately that even most of the A-list acts are crawling up the charts with only a few select artists being immune from that. I'm not worried about this one, and I don't think radio is tired of them either ("Simple" sold really well, but it tested a bit more polarizing than they usually do, though still not poorly enough to keep them from going to #1).

Did these guys say something regarding gun laws recently? I know they've always been polarizing because of their musical style giving them a group of vocal haters saying "they ain't country" at every turn, but the other day CMT posted about their new album title/release date and the comment section was just flooded with people saying they were against the Second Amendment (in addition to the usual overwhelming negative "they ain't country" comments I expected). Country fans on social media are notoriously awful cretins, but this surprised me because I hadn't heard them speak out on anything like this.

Making comments like that when a good chunk of your fanbase is gun-obsessed is a risky move, but it needs to be said, so good for him. It's a shame so many country fans are as narrow-minded as they are.

It’s just one of the reasons I’m so proud of them. They stand up for what they believe in, even though they know there’ll be backlash because some country fans are narrow-minded as fuck and would probably fuck a gun if they could.

If having an opinion about something that is not gonna change makes you narrow minded, than everyone is.

Just now saw the gun control comments and I too am proud of him (and Dierks) for speaking out about it. This is something that needs to happen in order to spark change in this country and country artists have the audience that needs to hear it. I love how so many celebrities are using their voices to state their beliefs nowadays and aren't caring about the repercussions. Album can be pre-ordered on itunes for some countries. People Are Different is instant grat track. Writers are Hillary Lindsey, Mark Holman, Michael Hardy. Also this sounds super interesting. I'll have to listen to this after work, but I like the lyrics/message a lot. Very "Love Wins"-esque (pretty vague and non-specific, but unifying), which again, is awesome that artists are using their star power to address these topics.

"People Are Different" is so good. I never thought I'd get to this moment with FGL when they started out, but I may have to actually buy an album from them for the first time.

I wanna like "People Are Different" but the verses remind me so much of the chorus for Keith Urban "Female" where it is like a jumbo word salad that sounds very loosely put together. I like the message, even if that song kind of feels like the diet version of "Most People Are Good".
Anyways back to "Talk You Out of It" as Florida Georgia Line enters the Mediabase Top 40, up 3 spots to #38. Unfortunately, that won't result in Bob Kingsley CT40 spins until the weekend of January 5th and 6th due to year end countdown next weekend.

I haven't heard this song much on the radio, has this been pulled? Maybe it just has been slowed by the New Year and Holidays, any updates?

Thank you for the information, I thought it seemed early for radio to give up on a FGL song.

Say what you want about their music but everything I've seen about these guys says they are genuine. I remember they were booked for a local fair the year before they became big and then "Cruise" came out but they agreed to still play the fair anyway. It was like a festival crowd there lol. Other artists would have cancelled once they struck it big.

You’re wrong. I’ve commented plenty times on songs that I enjoy, so nice try. Guess you can’t have an opinion. Welcome to Pulse Music Board where you must like all shitty, pop country radio music. So much so that MATTY had private message me because apparently he can’t accept others opinions. Sorry I offended you MATTY.

Sorry I offended you MATTY. Trust me, I'd much rather hear bluegrass country than pop country but by no means are you required to like pop country. Sometimes some posters get a little defensive about people hating on pop country, but I see no problem with it. However, I don't think FGL including skits has anything to do with them being or not being tools. I'll agree that your comment probably wasn't necessary or had anything to do with this song. I'll also agree that we shouldn't accept pop country if we as consumers don't want to. No comment (or surprise) on the pm you got lol

Ok, this chart performance isn't looking good, at all.
At the 54 day mark in the Mediabase Top 50, "Talk You Out of It" only has 1214 spins and 6412k in total audience. Even their previous lowest peaking song "Smooth" had a better start than this song. "Smooth" at the 54 day mark had 3684 spins and 22731k in audience.
Maybe I am being too negative, but this song is off to a really slow start for Florida Georgia Line standards. I know that the charts are a bit slow with it being January, and everyone seems to be off to rather slow starts. But this song in particular can't seem to make much progress, or find much success so far with country radio.
Kind of shocking and concerning that the latest singles from Maddie & Tae, Runaway June, Brothers Osborne, Justin Moore, and Russell Dickerson all have higher bullets currently than this song.

I agree Ray and you called this a while back, this song is not connecting. The general FGL fatigue has been showing lately anyway and this song just isn't that great. It will definitely start to pick up steam a bit but I see another top 15 finish with this one. I have to wonder if the whole album roll-out hurt consumer interest. "Smooth" flamed and then they took a break while "Meant to Be" was on the charts.. I mean, "Simple" and "Colorado" were released last May and we still don't have an album...
