I hope it keeps getting good updates. I really hope this doesn't instantly get a -200 or something in tomorrow's update!

Two years and just like that
I'm dumb, idk what this means Katy's first Top 40 top ten in 2 years (first since "Feels" reached #8)
Hence the reference to the NRO lyric "Two years and just like that" & gif

Friendly reminder: the exchange of money for airplay solicitation is illegal in the United States. Radio stations that are found guilty of this can be fined an absurd amount or be shut down completely. Assumed this was well known. "Checks clearing" has been used time and time again on this forum in reference to "payola" and not necessarily in terms of monetary compensation. Assumed this was, once again, well known. You mean the same Rate The Music that allows anyone to sign up, including fans who can sign up in droves/multiple accounts to push their favorite forward? It is about as efficient and accurate as Pulse's new "callout system" (where this sits at #1 as well btw, werk). By that standard, why does any artist ever flop, because payola/incentives are used by many artists. Doesn't mean they can dictate and steer how every single they release performs. As I have stated before, payola/incentives is NOT a bad thing. A lot of artists use it for higher/better peaks. It's just another chart tactic worth noting. Regardless, congrats on the top 10 peak Katy. It certainly helps soften that Hot 100 run and to achieve modest hit status. Hopefully the next release goes even further. Enjoyed the reminders tho :) Never assume, hun. People are that dense or simply just don't know. Your knowledge is not everyone else's knowledge. If you remember, I've addressed the Rate the Music scores and how they can be drastically different and why in this very thread. I'm more than well aware of this. Regardless, that information is still sent to radio stations and they still use it to create their playlists. Apparently that point was entirely missed by you since you dragged the for fun Pulse callouts into this discussion which is not at all used for anything. Rate the Music is. Quit being obtuse. As per your last unnecessary response, that was my entire point. This payola junk only works if the song clicks well enough. If everyone is doing it all the time, then it's not really having much of an effect then, is it? Anyway, thanks for the responses. They weren't warranted or asked for since I wasn't talking to you or even referring to you. Not sure why you felt the need to defend yourself. But I enjoyed them. :)

I am not at all surprised this was the one to get her back on track. Absolute pop gem! The beginning of the chorus hits so damn hard and it’s pure bliss from there.

Not sure why there is this Taylor drama in here when every song from her last two albums, sans Delicate, have been rejected by the GP.

I'm grasping for straws as I hope for #1, but at the rate this is currently chugging along I think this will manage a #9 peak (assuming YNTCD slows down even further).

This is a grower on radio and I hope they keep pushing this single another month or so maybe top 5. Longevity is what this will do.

I could see them possibly pushing this for one more week but by the time Katy drops her new single next week, all efforts will most likely be given to that.

Not sure why there is this Taylor drama in here when every song from her last two albums, sans Delicate, have been rejected by the GP. Am I just blind or is there not a single mention of Taylor Swift on this page? I think that was an implicit accusation that the 'payola'/bad callout arguments were started by Taylor fans (who tbh are the last bunch who should start any arguments about payola or bad callout) but there is no guarantee that every person with a certain opinion stans the same person, so it's probably best to leave the blanket statements alone. Especially since both of them are peacefully co-existing in the top 10 now, bad callout scores and all. Hopefully this sticks in the top 10 for a second week before Goodbyes passes it. Nothing else right now is close enough to create a new top 10 entry for another two or three weeks (barring a big release we don't know about) so then it becomes a matter of whether radio wants to keep NRO or YNTCD. I am thinking radio will go with the latter bc Capitol is going to move on to the next single, whereas Taylor and Republic have more incentive to try to keep YNTCD afloat going into her album release.

Glad it's continuing to gain still - perhaps it'll be able to go a bit higher and reach a new peak!

Got stuck at #11 on Billboard Pop Songs. That's so frustrating. I think Post Malone is far away enough that this should get a second week at #10. Hopefully that'll do the trick.

Doesn’t Billboard use audience for its radio charts? In that case, Post is basically tied with her already.

Well that #11 sucks. Hopefully it can hold on one more week and get that Top 10.
