I was going to make a post about the latest song getting onto the callout chart ("I Hope You're Happy Now") but I realized it's irrelevant since if this song can all of a sudden go insane up the charts despite how negative the callout is, does it really matter how the other song's callout scores.
One of the worst things about this song's all of a sudden surge is that it has stopped the charts cold in terms of songs below the Top 10. Among the songs from #12 to #30 on Mediabase today 12 of the 19 songs have a bullet that is under 100, and that is in large part due to nothing in the Top 10 giving up and especially Garth Brooks eating up so many spins.
Country radio needs to please grow a backbone to this shit, because listeners are tired of this song, the data is there, they are done with this song. Tell the label "Tough shit, the song isn't connecting, come back with another song that will maybe test better." This song hitting the Top 10 was one thing, because at the end of the day whatever, but going for #1 is just ridiculous.
The only silver lining for me is that this song will fall so fast when it is done and with any luck it is Garth's last #1 and he starts to get *finally* phased out of country radio. Like I get he is popular, but he is overdue to get phased out of country radio.

I’m glad Gord Bamford made that tweet he sent out when this song came out. His song is an absolute jam!

I damn near threw up when I saw that this hit Top 5. Absolutely disgusting manipulation, and causing a backup Los Angeles isn't even used to on the charts. F**king ridiculous!!

I will say #1 chances are still low, remember this next week Sam Hunt hits #1, the following week he could just as easily hold on for another week with "Kinfolks" given how well the song is selling, not to mention both Jimmie Allen and Kane Brown 700 to 500 spins respectively ahead of "Dive Bar" not to mention over 7 million in audience ahead.
I can see the case maybe, maybe for Mediabase, but even then I feel like Jimmie Allen, Kane Brown, and Sam Hunt are probably better odds on favorites to hit #1 that week on Mediabase. The push is ridiculous but I do not see #1 chances very high, especially since Jimmie Allen is maxing that week as well and he has much better callout scores than "Dive Bar".

The push is ridiculous but I do not see #1 chances very high, especially since Jimmie Allen is maxing that week as well and he has much better callout scores than "Dive Bar". Get ready lol. This push in two weeks will be massive. If anyone should be worried of their #1 chances its Jimmie Allen and Stoney Creek Records. Garth's push was a complete buy in from corporate conglomerates and syndicated shows -- creating the 5 spot hike in the top 10 this week. Pearl is asking them to do it again next week, after "Kinfolks" is #1 on both charts. Kane Brown should be held back by Sony Music Nashville, as they're letting Garth and Jimmie battle it out the week of February 23rd. My concern is who will get the benefit of extra spins? Jimmie Allen or Garth...my guess is Garth. "Dive Bar" has gained 1500 spins since the start of the month (16 days). He's well within shouting distance of Jimmie and Kane and I don't see how Garth is denied of the Mediabase #1 by March 1st. I could see a MB only #1 for sure, which is okay by Garth or Jimmie's label. The sense I'm getting though is some in radio hate this and I'm with them. It's fine when a song has already come within shouting distance of #1 but at the new year, most thought "Dive Bar" was dead in the water. It's testing is terrible -- among the worst at radio, which should mean it doesn't come close to #1 rotation. Problem is it's Garth and the clout he has with station relationships -- it's a freight train nobody wants to get in the way of. The #1's across five decades is a promotion that people have 100% bought into -- without that aspect, "Dive Bar" is already off the chart. I guarantee many PD's do not like this behind closed doors though. It's a bigger push than "Give It All We Got Tonight" in 2013 from MCA Nashville.

This song actually dropped almost a million audience today. Perhaps for an even bigger push later? Lol

This song actually dropped almost a million audience today. Perhaps for an even bigger push later? Lol Chunk of the spins lost were those extra spins Garth got on CCUSA but it’s definitely a big loss at 123 spins and nearly 1.0 million in audience. The #1 push isn’t supposed to come until next week however (900 spin increases weren’t happening for three consecutive weeks), so unless Garth loses all the spins he gained this past week, I have to assume that’s still the plan.

Well Garth is gonna have even more ground to make up if they are pushing for #1 next week as he lost another 69 spins and a little over 600k in audience today while also getting passed by Jake Owen and Jason Aldean today.
I mean with this song losing over 100 spins and over 1.5 million in audience the past 2 days, I would like to believe it's #1 chances are diminishing. Honestly this whole end of this song's chart run is just so confusing

Also he’s apparently releasing the live video performance of this with Blake at Boise on Wednesday (on Facebook)

I guess the PDs didn't like the campaign either?! sabre14 do you have any insights on it? (I mean I hate the song as is but my distaste for Garth has grown to all-time highs with this campaign so it's not like I'm worried about it suddenly nosediving with its updates)

Three consecutive weeks of 1,000 bullets wasn’t possible to ask for. If “Dive Bar” was done it would be losing a lot more spins than 60-80 lol. More like 300-500 by the time they let it go. We’ve never seen a multiple week push like this expanded over more than two weeks. It’s a little wonky but I’m not that surprised this has bled some spins after its massive gains last week.

I really hope radio doesn’t give him a massive push again next week. This song was dead to me as soon as it came out.

I finally heard this for the first time today. I have to say it’s not bad at all. Probably the best single from the new album so far. I really hope radio doesn’t give him a massive push again next week. This song was dead to me as soon as it came out. So what's the truth? Obviously I am just joking.

We can safely say Dive Bar is done. Today's update has this one losing almost 500 spins.

The truth is the first comment I had only heard it once. After hearing it too many times to count now I think it’s garbage but still better than the first single All Day Long. I still can’t believe this made the top 10!

We can safely say Dive Bar is done. Today's update has this one losing almost 500 spins. Today's update says it lost 45 spins. You mean the bullet, which is at -492 on Mediabase. I've gotten a ton of inquires on Twitter and even texts asking if this is done this week lol. Garth has been planning this push for a while and Jimmie Allen confirmed with someone I know at CRS that Garth was pushing the same week his label was (and was rather disappointed lol). If Garth's song was truly done -- he would have lost way more than 40-80 spins a day, like he has this past week. But there's a problem with Garth pushing this week. He's bled spins and now sits 1600 spins back of "Make Me Want To", a song that is pushing this week based off pre-determined scheduling...that's way too much to make up in one week. There's simply no way Garth gets there unless we see the most asinine push in recent history -- honestly, he would have to gain over 2,000 spins just to get a chance and probably a little more. Could this last two more weeks? I haven't heard anything about that but there's no #1 push listed in aircheck's email -- only a power up through March 2nd, which is a Monday, which is a little odd too; couple that with how far back he is now and I wouldn't put it past them to hold off until next week...unless of course they don't see substantial gains this week. This entire push effort is weird and not something I enjoy watching. I've never seen anything like it before. Considering it's Garth, that's another reason to expect the unexpected.

I know this is totally unrelated to this song at all but is Garth Brooks the only living artist to not have music on iTunes now? We finally got rock band Tool’s catalog when their new album came out last year and I think them and Garth were the only ones that didn’t. Idk what his big deal is about not putting it on there because I’ve never heard any gripe from his wife about hers being on there.

Plenty of artists in Japan don't have music on iTunes at all, specifically if they're associated with Johnny Kitagawa's label. King & Prince, for example, is an idol group who only has their music on CDs. More and more artists have been putting their music onto iTunes there. Not sure about western artists though.
