Looks like the official title according to iTunes/Apple Music is not capitalized: "homecoming queen?" In case that matters for the purposes of the thread title. The press release they sent out to radio also has the title as “homecoming queen?” That’s definitely intended.

This is kind of underwhelming for me, I won't be surprised if it has a similar run to "Legends"

I love this. I don't care if Legends was underwhelming, and I Hate Love Songs flopped, and Miss Me More was too pop, she sure knows how to pick singles in my opinion.

37 posts about the title and punctuation and like 4 about the actual song. This is a beautiful song and way more immediate for me than Legends. I’m prepared for a slow climb but hoping we get the album sooner than later.

Wow, this is a great song. By no means am I a die hard Kelsea fan, but these lyrics are just too good. Undeniable it’s something we can all relate to. No matter where you’re at in life, we all have our vulnerable side. Beautiful melody on top of all that. Well done.

Love that her and her label are willing to take the risk on this one, it’s a great message and melody! That production is such a 180 from her biggest hits that I could see this meeting some resistance at radio but I’m hoping I’m wrong on that front.

I'm like her biggest fan, but I wish she and her team would've chosen an uptempo song as the lead single after having all this hype following the success of Miss Me More. It's a cute song, but I don't know if this will do anything for her. What the song is missing the most in my opinion is an actual bridge. It would improve the song so much more, instead of going from chorus 2 to chorus 3 even if it has different lyrics.

This is a very pleasant song, but I’m hesitant about it being a first single. At the same time, I also appreciate that she isn’t pandering to radio by any means. Will be an interesting one to watch and I look forward to the album in Spring!

I like the creativity on the title and the song is alright, although I think I still prefer MMM and even BLNT.

Agreed that an uptempo single would have probably been wise for her, but this song is pretty well written and has potential to be big. I do think it could be a slower chart run though.

Someone posted that Carrie's song was "slowed down" so others could get their turn at the top. It's a stupid money game.

Does anyone else hear the melody of Jewel's "You Were Meant For Me" in this?

Does anyone else hear the melody of Jewel's "You Were Meant For Me" in this? Absolutely, but too bad it doesn’t harness the same emotional depth.

Of course not, but look at what's the most successful song was last era - Miss Me More. I love Kelsea's ballads, but I think more people would check her and her albums, if the lead single would smash instead releasing an uptempo track as single #3. :|

Wow, this is incredible. She really came out swinging with this one. And that music video was beautifully done, too.
I don't think it'll matter if she put out an uptempo as the lead or not because when the music is this good... people will respond. I liked "Legends," but it felt a bit generic and it didn't get a lot of people excited about her second album, but I think the hype from "Homecoming Queen?" is going to be much bigger. It may not scale the radio charts in record speed, but I wouldn't be surprised if this sells and streams very well. I feel like this song is going to connect in a big way, and hopefully that'll drive radio to convert it a little quicker.

I enjoy this one but it isnt my favorite. Thats okay tho because I'm sure a lot of people are going to connect with it in a big way, and that's all that really matters.

This is just meh for me. But considering my track record where it concerns Kelsea's singles, that might mean it's going to be a huge hit. ;P

This certainly isn't the safest choice for a lead single, but this is so much more interesting, different, and just miles above the quality of Legends so I can see it connecting a lot better. I love how convincing Kelsea sounds on this too, and the video is simple but powerful. I'm 100% behind this as the lead and I hope radio and consumers are too.

Oh wow this is so good, exactly what I wanted in kb3. This has layers in maturity in sound and vulnerability in lyrics and overall growth as a artist. Love it!!!
