So great to see this re-enter and set a new peak at that! It's a shame they let "Now You Know" re-enter previously instead of this only for that one to leave already again. "Getting Good" should hopefully reach the top 30 in the coming weeks, I'd say.

Officially her fourth highest solo single, behind "Road Less Traveled" #1, "Doin' Fine" #27, and "Georgia Peaches" #28.
a) it seems realistic this can match/pass the peak of "Doin' Fine" b) how ridiculous is this entire post. Girl has been robbed for 9 years straight.

Oh, look another feature. Lauren appears on another Jesus Jam with legendary CCM artist, Steven Curtis Chapman, alongside Brad Paisley and gospel artist Tasha Cobbs Leonard. Lauren shares the 2nd verse with Brad.
Even as someone who loves Christian music, this is not very good, so don't get your hopes up, lol. This is close to charting on the National Christian Audience chart though (all sub-genres of CCM combined chart), so get that Jesus Jam smash, Lauren!

I didn’t even realize the song had been sent to radio. I tried to find info on that back in May when the song was first released and couldn’t find anything. Christian radio sadly seemed to move on from Steven Curtis Chapman a long time ago, so even if it was the greatest song ever it probably wouldn’t do much.

"Getting Over Him" is absolutely fantastic! That NEEDS to be her next single. Having Jon Pardi on it would be a win in itself for country radio, but the song itself just sounds like a total smash, too. Time to ditch "Getting Good" imo.

“Getting Over Him” is the strongest song she’s put out since the Road Less Traveled album IMO. It’s a departure from her typical style in all the right ways, and she and Jon Pardi sound great. She obviously doesn’t have the best track record at radio, but if there’s any justice in the world this will be a smash.

Yeah, agreed. "Getting Over Him" is the kind of thing she has needed. "Run" is fine, but is similar to this in where its just "there" but I am not sure the Pardi duet could be ignored. Sounds like a smash to me.

"Getting Over Him" is really good, I'd kinda be okay if they moved on at this point but then I just want to see "Getting Good" become the hit it SHOULD be! Why is radio so lousy with her music

"Getting Over Him" has absolutely got to be the next single. I think the recipe for pulling "Getting Good" for this is is a) hitting top 30, b) "Getting Over Him" selling/streaming well, and c) getting Pardi's team to okay it.

Is Getting Over Him on itunes? #41 on iTunes all-genre. I think it's a fine performance.

Also, I don't know how many people pre-ordered the EP, but I assume some of her fans already did that, so they get the song but it doesn't count as if they're buying it. If there wasn't an EP pre-order, it probably would be higher. But either way it is a fine performance, I just thought the views on the lyric video would be higher.

I’m clearly in the minority, but I’m really not hearing the hit that everyone else is hearing with "Getting Over Him". It will almost certainly grow on me, but it seems like it’s missing something and I can’t quite put my finger on it. The melody doesn’t really grab me unlike many of her other songs. Also, Jon’s voice sounds really odd in the chorus, almost as if it was doctored up or auto tuned or something.
On the other hand, "Run" is a much better song imo and I feel like it’s more catchy and radio friendly. But since "Run" is a solo song, I’m sure radio would pay it dust like it has to 99% of her other singles. If "Getting Over Him" does become a single, I really hope Jon Pardi’s name will help it gain some traction because even though I’m not sold on the song yet, I would be happy to see her get the smash hit she’s long overdue for.

I prefer Run as well, however it is clear country radio has little interest in songs with any message at all. I think I once read from Derik's Bentley that he wrote songs for the radio so he could but the songs that said something more profound then, she/he broke my heart or let’s drink, on an album. I have thought for awhile Lauren will have to release something like this duet to chart well. I was an advocate for Queen of Hearts type releases for that reason. I like this song it does grow on you. I do not know what else is on the EP but this is a contender for a single for sure. It does appear Getting Good is done so there should be an a no cement in a couple of weeks for the next single.

I don't hear hit potential in "Run" at all; I think it wouldn't even make the top 40, honestly. The fact that on paper "Next Boyfriend" sounds like it should've been her biggest hit to date but is one of her worst-performers at country radio kinda throws the book out on what to expect with every single she releases.
For someone who lands features on other artist's albums all the time, it would be in her best interest to actually take the opportunity to release one where she's the lead act so it can actually benefit her own music, and radio loves Jon Pardi, so I really hope "Getting Over Him" is next because she really badly needs at least another top 20 hit to her name that isn't a feature asap.

I completely agree with you. "Getting Over Him" is a duet with a popular male and gives "Hole in the Bottle" or "All My Favorite People" vibes. Lauren has released "message" singles ever since RLT and it hasn't worked even once since RLT. She needs a smash like this to give her some radio momentum - a la Carly Pearce ft. Lee Brice. "Run" is nice but... no. It's also not just selling great for nothing.

Can’t lie, I don’t see the HUGE hit potential everyone else is saying with Getting Over Him but I do understand that a duet with Jon Pardi is definitely the best next move. Sad to see Getting Good loose so much audience after getting so close to the top 30 (I was guessing that was the goal on mediabase and Billboard at this point) and I hope it can rebound but I’m not optimistic. I DO however think that When all is said and done, Getting Good will hit Gold and her team will probably certify all her previous songs that have gone Gold as well to make the most impact. I just hope they can keep pushing this song until the EP release so she has at least a little bit of radio presence when it’s released.

Looks like this song is probably done with a bullet of -151 today and losing 70 plus spins today and almost 2 million in audience since August 17th

As much as I would've liked to see this hold out for top 30 somehow, I don't think it was worth it with the EP coming out soon. It was definitely time to try something fresh, and "Getting Good" just wasn't going to do much more anyway, sadly. Looking forward to seeing what's next.

Almost a full year of watching this song and posting in this thread, for a peak at... #31.
Being a Lauren Alaina fan AND being a chart watcher is so...exhausting...
Edit: I really don't think having "One Beer" charting with and outpacing this song was helpful to her. Sure, this song maybe wasn't going to be a top 10 hit, but I do feel it would have peaked higher without the HARDY song. It's easy for radio to look at the women charting right now and play Ashley McBryde, then "One Beer" since Lauren is on it, then the next woman after that is... Lauren Alaina. I feel like it would be easy to skip "Getting Good" since you already have Lauren in rotation with HARDY and throw your spins at Tenille Arts, Kelsea Ballerini, etc instead. Of course this is all assuming PDs are making a conscious effort to play the current women on the chart. When it's all said and done, we know "What Ifs" hurt "Doin' Fine" and I do feel it's safe to assume "One Beer" hurt "Getting Good".

Today’s update lol. Maybe it isn’t done? Part of me wonders are they trying to stay ahead of the songs behind her for 2 more weeks and get to 30 as her EP is released. It seems possible they could pull that off.

It's worth noting that the Hot Country playlist on Spotify took "Getting Good" off and replaced it with "Run" this week... like 90% of the songs on there are current singles. I'm hoping it means they were tired of "Getting Good" sitting on their playlist for almost a year and NOT that it means "Run" is next.

I know that "Three" was on that Hot Country playlist and even had a special video for it and it wasn't released as a single. "In My Veins" also spent a week or two on the Hot Country playlist with the EP release. So I don't think "Run" being there implies it's her next single.

I guess the difference here is "Run" replaced the current single on the playlist, while "Three" was put up during the lull of no promoted single and "In My Veins" was added as a promo for the EP in addition to "Getting Good" already being on the playlist.
