Yeah I don't think Top 25 is in the cards or if it is I don't see "Getting Good" getting into the Top 25 til late October early November at the earliest as "Getting Good" has lost 145 spins the past 2 weeks as this week will mark Lauren's second bulletless week in a row. Maybe this can rally this next week to re-bullet on Mediabase but this song is hanging on by a thread and it is by far the weakest link of all the songs being promoted to country radio. At this point since this made the Top 30 I would cut my losses and go for any of "Run" (listening to this lately and I do think it sounds like it could do well on country radio), "Getting Over Him" or "What Do You Think Of?".
Also does anyone working within radio have any clue what the next single is? Like the label has to be planning for a new single real soon!

It looks like they just filmed a music video for "What Do You Think Of?" which tells me it will be a single promoted somewhere. I am hoping Pop/HAC because Lauren has never ventured over there and I think it could be big. My opinion is still that the Pardi duet is the best bet for country.

Lauren should be a country radio staple. This should’ve peaked in the top 5 by now. Also, Bar Back is the best song on her incredible EP. 😁

I'm dying to know what the next single is gonna be.
But I have to say this EP has WAY better options than her last one. I didn't want either "In My Veins", "Somebody Else's Problem", "The Other Side" (despite being one of her best) or "Country in Me" as singles. I don't think any of them would work on country radio.
On her new EP, however, she has some nice options. The duet with Jon Pardi obviously pops up as the safe choice to get a hit. "Run" could work as well, and personally I think "Bar Back" is a great option that fits country radio. "If I Was a Beer" is not connecting with the listeners so I wouldn't pick that, but based on the song, it's also something that country radio could play. And then, "What Do You Think Of?" is the opposite - I don't think it sounds like a country radio hit but it's connecting very well. It peaked at #1 on Country iTunes and it's still charting - currently top400 all-genre while her current single is outside of the top1000. I was thinking it should be a pop/HAC single but I don't even know if it would be a bad idea to send it to country radio.
With all that being said, she has released some great singles before that were ignored, so who knows if they'll play whatever she releases.

Yep goes recurrent tonight on Billboard. That should be the final nail in the coffin for this song. Bring on "Getting Over Him" asap.

Too bad, it goes recurrent a week before it's anniversary on country radio I hope her team gets the next single right and work to have her songs move faster than this one.

"What Do You Think Of" made the Mediabase Activator chart. Maybe that's a sign it's the next single. I'm not sure if it will do well on the country charts. I think it should definitely be pushed on the AC/HAC charts & it should do well on those formats.

You guys probably know better than me if a song playing on The Highway is a good indicator that it's the next single or not.

It's probably close to 50/50 on whether a song the Highway plays ends up being the next single. When I had SiriusXM I was convinced several songs would be an artists next single. One example that didn't is Old Dominion's "Not Everything's About You". But they also were ahead of things with songs like "The Good Ones" and "Rednecker".

Now that this is finally recurrent on Mediabase her team needs to launch a new single.
What a strange third album era. Launched with "Ladies in the 90s" in fall 2018 which peaked at #40, released "Getting Good" in fall 2019 followed by the Getting Good EP and settling for a #29 peak on the single. Now we have the Getting Over Him EP which has no radio single yet but feels like it has a bit of buzz.
My vote on how they move forward with this strange third era is to treat LIT90s, GG and the entire Getting Good EP as its own era. Then, move forward with a single off Getting Over Him and eventually put out a full length album that features none of the songs from the first EP.

"Getting Over Him" With Jon Pardi would be perfect for radio and as a single. That would be the easiest and best choice in my opinion.

Sorry to bump an older thread, but I was listening to Land of the Bre Radio on Apple Music (BRELAND's station, it's really good - highly recommended) and he had Lauren as a guest on the show. I definitely recommend listening to the whole episode. She mentioned that an album is likely coming in the first half of next year and that it'll consist of both EPs along with new songs (looks like the Maddie & Tae route) AND that a new radio single is coming in January. This makes me think they're going with the Pardi duet as by then he will have either peaked or be close to peaking with his current single. (I suppose it also just makes sense to wait until after the holidays to put out a single, but I'm crossing my fingers).

Have a strong feeling ‘What do You think of’ will be the next single as it seems they already shot a video or a visual for it at least. It has streamed decently and is still in the top 700 overall on iTunes, which bodes well for them allowing it to just grow the rest of the year and start to push it early 2021. Could really be her TRUE breakthrough.

What's she waiting for to release a new single? I hope she goes with the Jon Pardi duet although with radio who knows if it can be a big hit or not.
Anyways, i just ran across this on Amazon music last night, i did not know it existed. Looks like it was released in mid October. The Shires are one of the more popular UK country acts. Pretty good and yet another duet to put on the resume.

I guess they don't want to release a new single close to the Christmas freeze but I wish she released it on October, since "Getting Good" was done by the end of September. About the duet with The Shires, it's a nice song. And yeah she just keeps releasing new collaborations! Hope she's getting money with that haha. Here's a list of all the collaborations she released if anyone's interested: (she has so many it's easy to miss a few of them)

I am ready for her team to really push for some industry success. Her future at radio is not dead by any means (she's about to have a third #1) but I think they need to put their eggs in the industry basket more than they have been.
- Certify her singles as gold, platinum, what have you. - Promote her stellar songs to shoot for SOTY or Grammy nominations ("The Other Side", "What Do You Think Of?", etc.) - Develop her long-term vision as an artist.
I've always been fascinated at how long Lauren has been a well-known name in the genre (longer than any of the mainstream women aside from Carrie and Miranda) and yet she still feels new and upcoming. That feeling won't last forever but it sometimes feels like her crew just coasts with her. It ALWAYS feels like she is an 'almost' artist... almost has hits, almost gets awards, etc.

Pretty good and yet another duet to put on the resume. Lightning Strikes by The Shires is still in my top 3 songs of the year since its release in January. All elements of the song, including lyrics, melody, harmony, production... are impeccable. Sad that nobody knew that song, but hopefully more people will recognize this song now that Lauren joins. For the next single release, make sense that they are waiting for One Beer to peak and avoiding Christmas, but Gettin Good should have been given up earlier when it lost momentum. That song was climbing the chart extremely slowly. I'll be happy with anything from Bar Back (reminds me of Act Like You Don't by Brooke Eden), Country In Me, In My Vein, Run (likely), Seen You In Your Hometown, and, Somebody Else's Problem. What do you think of is good, but wish Lukas wasn't featuring. Getting Over Him is not ideal, as I would rather see Pardi's third single from HM album.

Getting Over Him is not ideal, as I would rather see Pardi's third single from HM album. We can have both, y'know. It has become fairly common again for artists to have featured credits on songs while also charting with their own singles, not to mention several artists lately have even charted with multiple singles of their own at once. "Getting Over Him" being a single will not hinder or delay another single from Heartache Medication, and I maintain that it would 100% be a smart move for Lauren Alaina at this stage, and it would likely benefit Jon Pardi as well. He just had chart credit on "Beer Can't Fix" this year while still moving up the charts with his own singles and all it did was put another hit under his belt.
