A damn mess already. Y'all need Jesus!!! Lol that's kinda how these rankdowns go... You poor, innocent soul, coming to this realization for the first time!! You should have seen Martina occupy like the entire bottom 10 in the first set, and then George Strait occupy like the entire bottom 15 in the last one... I almost decided never to host a BotB rankdown again, before we all end up hating each other and ruin Pulse 😂 Ultimately this list was just too good though, and I couldn't help myself I'm a glutton for punishment I guess!

"Holy Water" got done DIRTY!!! Big & Rich are incredibly hit-or-miss artists, and would have deserved to finish this low with most songs, but "Holy Water" is far and away their best song The message is beautiful (it's about abuse victims finding the strength to move on), and Kenny and John actually sound good for once. And that awesome sweeping cello lick as the full band comes in at the intro is absolutely perfect. Very disappointed with this loss too! Also, y'all better go tank the s**t out of "Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy)" in the RotB rankdown. I'm telling you now, you don't want to see my reaction if that tragic sexist mess of a song finishes HIGHER than "Holy Water" did...

I was actually tempted to not participate because the reveals can be some of the hottest of messes out there, but hey. I had time on my hands. Why not? ...and someone actually thinks that my #1 could end up in the bottom ten?!?!? >

"Holy Water" deserved better but I didn't expect it to go too far. This song hits home big time so there was no question this would be in my top 2. No regrets at all because I love this song.
Though I will say now I want to revise my list for the Revenge list to tank Save a Horse because I agree it shouldn't do better than this one. (I don't actually remember my ranking for that one but I don't hate it)

"Working Man's Hands" won the rankdown for Patty Loveless' second album, and while it is a perfectly enjoyable song, it sticks out like a sore thumb in this list. This is a list of EPIC songs, that really stand out for being career-defining hits, or album tracks that were big enough to beat the career-defining hits...and then there's this song This song definitely only won because Patty's early work isn't exactly full of tough competition. Like, most of the songs are good, but definitely not among the best of her career or anybody else's.

"Downtown" is a catchy song, but has definitely been overplayed. My low rank for it is more a reflection of how strong this list is rather than any flaw with the song itself though!

"Downtown" is a hell of a song, and deserved Top 40 imo, but I'm fine seeing it leave here.

“Downtown” sucks. Horrible melody and the instrumentation is generic modern dreck. So glad this is out early.

I more meant along the lines of, we have cleared the bottom 5 and haven't seen a single George Strait song yet! Off to a better start than the last BotB rankdown for the George fans, for sure

"Back to God" and "Downtown" were robbed! I guess I'm not terribly surprised given that this is a strong list overall. Still sad tho. The other 3 were no great loss, however, so not a bad start all things considered.

Woohoo perfect ranks for #50 and #49! I can tolerate some religious lyrics (I do love stuff like "Something in the Water" after all) but "Back to God" is a little too much. I guess not being a Christian the whole "we gotta give this world back to God" is just lost on me.
Regarding "Holy Water" I just don't care for Big & Rich. At all. That being said, "Holy Water" is probably the best of theirs that I've heard so far.
"Working Man's Hands" just wasn't strong enough compared to all the other songs on this list.
I wanted to rank "Downtown" higher but with the strength of this list... that just wasn't happening.

"Need You Now" is a song that has been a proven rankdown juggernaut as time has gone by. The song first began its reign of terror by finishing at #2 in the 2009 country rankdown, but then WON the Lady Antebellum singles rankdown shortly thereafter! The song was featured in the previous BotB installment, where it finished at #17 (definitely an example of how strong these BotB lists tend to be in general). Immediately after that achievement, this song scored big once again when it won 𝓲𝓽'𝓼.𝓰𝓿 's personal rankdown of 2010s country songs. It is that victory that earned it a featured spot here in this rankdown! This is a song that has at least one more big finish in its future, as I will be absolutely SHOCKED if it doesn't end up winning the Need You Now album rankdown whenever it ends up happening. So look for it to probably be featured in the 4th BotB also

"Break First" is the runaway winner from Tim McGraw & Faith Hill's newest duets album. The ACCLAIM this song got when they debuted it on their tour was palpable, and that carried it to an easy victory in the album rankdown!!!! Unfortunately, when it comes to a list of all-time greats like this one, it becomes a little harder for the song to hold its own. This song was a very consistent bottom 10 contender. someguy loses his #9 unfortunately, but kw9461 loses his last place, and THREE people get a perfect ranking out of this one! This song is incredible, especially when you pay attention to Faith's soaring vocals near the end of the song I cannot wait to see how this one does in Faith's album tracks rankdown, which is where it will make its next appearance!
