I just don't see Taylor releasing a greatest hits album anytime soon especially given she and her fans have already been revisiting those hits the last few years with her re-recordings. I think a Christmas album from Taylor could be fantastic, but I don't want it this year. I want her to finish her tour, release the last two re-records, and then take a year or two off (which will not only be beneficial for her personally, but also for her career). A Break would be great and she could Release a Christmas Album at the end of November. It won't so huge Numbers throughout the whole year Just in Oktober, November and December. Maybe she won't Release one since it would Take away the strong months for a New Album Release.

I was thinking about this yesterday but I wonder if she'll re-record "Beautiful Eyes" and "I Heart ?" from in between self-titled and the 'Fearless' era.

Mainly I wish wishing for a Christmas album. lol I know that the GH would be unlikely to be done for her but I could even see like a vinyl exclusive with some of the best TV's on it or something down the line.

i doubt a GH is ever coming but maybe a boxset of all the Taylor's Version once she's done all of them plus her albums from Lover onwards might happen. or if a GH is ever coming it's probably gonna be a regional exclusive. I think a Japan-exclusive GH would benefit her greatly since that's the one market where CD sales for greatest hits stuff is still really good and afaik, especially for western artists, tend to sell better than normal albums

I expect debut to be one of her longer Taylor's Versions track-wise. Hopefully she throws some writing credits over to Saving Jane so we can get "I'd Lie."

As that will defeat the purpose of her doing TV. I don't think she even allow any regional exclusive GH at all at this point with the master-owning saga is still ongoing. I think she will have that going on once TV projects are over for a few years and see how it plays out when it comes to her old master. Maybe when their value went really down and she was able to purchase those old recordings master back, then maybe we will see GH happening.

I'm sure it must be, right? I searched and found the answer. Not a record for the top 10 but a record with the top 14 Taylor Swift Claims Record Top 14 Spots on Billboard Hot 100, Led by ‘Fortnight’ With Post Malone

I can’t imagine how she could ever have more momentum than this going into an era, so she’s kind of hit all her highs with this (especially the fact of it being a 31 song album to chart on the hot 100).
The big remaining benchmark for her is the all time Hot 100 #1s record. I do think she has a pretty huge shot at it tbh. ICDIWABH feels guaranteed to be her 13th #1 as the proper second single, and then I’d imagine she will get at least one out of Rep TV. TS12 is a lock for the lead debuting at #1, and I’d argue the same for TS13 (you know she’ll push the hell out of that one).
So we’re at 16 already right there, not counting multiple #1s from any of those besides TTPD or if she somehow manages to squeeze a #1 out of Debut TV too. Or or if another CS happens with one of her old songs. There’s certainly the possibility that she will hold the record by the end of TS13, but if not it should be well within reach by then and I can’t imagine she’d rest until securing it at that point.

30 out of the top 50 songs on the hot 100 this week are by her. Absolutely wild. She’s just barely shy of having 1/3 of the entire chart be songs by her.

My local station has only played Anti-Hero, Cruel Summer, Is It Over Now and a Wildest Dreams remix from Taylor since Lover/Reputation (I forget if they played any of the Lover singles). However, in the last few days they've played those plus Shake It Off, Style, Blank Space, Me and I Knew You Were Trouble a few times

i look in people’s windows stans lost today It’s #39, 10th highest from The Anthology (still way too low though - it’s one of my favorites on the album) The Bolter is #47. So all but 2 made the top 50. I think those are the only two missing from Dylan’s list. Dylan :) tagging you so you can update your list :)

i look in people’s windows stans lost today Given the general public's very short attention spans, I am surprised "I Look in People's Windows" didn't chart higher considering it's the shortest song on the album.

So true about people's attention spans and it is getting worse and worse. We all have attention deficit disorder now.

I wonder if Taylor would invest in a Visual Album at this point of her career. She seems to really love producing her MVs and telling stories and it’s something she hasn’t done yet… maybe a 13 track album to take her back to her roots.
Either that or I’d love A.M. versions of Lover, folklore and evermore with an additional 10-15 tracks for each.

Fortnight has fallen from #1 on US Spotify, replaced by Sabrina Carpenter. Some songs gained in position today, though
Top 20: #2 Fortnight (-) #4 I Can Do It With A Broken Heart (=) #6 Down Bad (=) #8 So Long London (=) #9 Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me (+) #11 My Boy Only Breaks His Favourite Toy (=) #12 But Daddy I Love Him (+) #13 Guilty as Sin? So this is a total crackpot theory, but, why not:
So there are tons of clues fans have spoted in things Taylor/Taylor Nation has posted (as well as within other areas this era) alluding to May 3rd (This Friday) being a date of significance. They also found that all clues pointing to this date featured the color lavender. Now we know in the "Fortnight" video Taylor is wearing Victorian-inspired clothing. In Victorian mourning times women would wear black dresses (exactly like the one Taylor donned in "Fortnight") and a year after the mourning period, as a rebirth of sorts out of morning was happening, they would begin dressing in lavender colors, slowly and eventually shifting back into brighter colors again (a representation of their transition out of grief).
*Adjusts tin foil hat*
Now, what if this album were one of two (or 2 of 3 discs)? What if the first 2 discs released were her "mourning stage" (noticeably all somber songs, even the uptempos are lyrically aside from maybe 1) which she released into the world for exactly the same length of her 2 week fling with Matty over the summer and this Friday she releases a 2nd album (or 3rd disc) of a rebirth/out of mourning/over the grief collection of material that represents her happiness/time with Travis?
Now obviously this is a long shot, but it's just interesting to wonder. I do think something is coming Friday and maybe it's just a video or something else, but nothing would shock me at this point.

I'm at an airport in Colombia and the local bookstore chain has two Taylor Swift books on display
Ahh the global legend of it all.

MediatrafficTaylor Swift have reached the absolute peak of her career, the eleventh studio effort 'The Tortured Poets Department' starts easily atop the Global Album Chart with stellar 3,35 million equivalent sales! That's the biggest start by an album since Adele's '25' set exploded with 5,71 million sales in the calendar week 49, 2015... nearly eight and a half years ago. The album's numbers are almost three times as high as the subsequent Top 20 placements combined.

re: 5/3
Post Malone is playing at a festival here in Charlotte that night AND our local baseball team is hosting a Taylor themed night and the Charlotte Swifties are losing their minds that she is going to make an appearance since we were left off the Eras Tour routing (also Rep but who is bitter???).
I don't particularly buy into the hype but the festival promoters said ticket sales for Friday are up so *someone* is.

I was about to say, if there was a third ‘disc’ of music would it count as a separate title on the album chart but then I remembered, The Fame Monster = The Fame. I’ve seen rumblings that there are more songs to come. I’d suspect it was one person saying that and others jumped on the rumour mill and that helped spread it as an actual rumour. If it were true? Somehow I feel like it would be too much as the hate has been piling on since the release.

I’ll be real honest, if she drops another album right now and I like it quite a bit more than this one, I don’t think I would ever return to TTPD and it would basically collect dust in her catalog for me.

Another album is sure to push her right over the overexposure cliff she’s already clinging to by her very fingertips. I’m certain she’s aware of that, especially so close to the next leg of the Eras Tour.

The album's numbers are almost three times as high as the subsequent Top 20 placements combined. This isn't directed at you (I promise I'm not trying to be shady), but y'all gotta stop using Media Traffic (United World Chart) as a source. They've been incredibly inaccurate for years because they include basically no Asian/Latin American sales (coincidentally the fastest growing music markets in the world). Taking just the sales from like 12 countries that have confirmed numbers equals 3,280,000...and that's not even including countries like Canada, Mexico, Philippines, and China (all countries where she is massive and broke records in). Republic has already confirmed TTPD opened to 4 million+ worldwide during it's opening week. headlineplanet.com/home/2024/04/28/taylor-swifts-tortured-poets-department-debuts-with-4-million-global-sales-equivalents-becoming-14th-7-figure-debut/

Somehow I feel like it would be too much as the hate has been piling on since the release. Well it's coming from multiple sources. A "prediction" account that predicted quite a few other things from this era after the 2nd edition was released said there was still further TPD music to come. Lots and lots of fans have collected several (and too many to be coincidental) clues that *something* is coming May 3rd and that it's something significant. Some people theorize another album, some a book, some a second music video, some a Long Pond session or something like it, and some a surprise performance with Post (which honestly doesn't seem like big enough of an event to have hidden all these strategic clues). The analytical part of me says another release would be a terrible idea right now, but the fan in me feels nothing but pure excitement at the thought of more great material! As far as the hate Taylor is getting, I'm not convinced it isn't just people who already disliked/hated Taylor just being more vocal, but she is highly, highly exposed ATM so who knows. IDC honestly either way. I'm content with the album we have for sure, but I certainly wouldn't complain about more material (especially if it's a deviation from what we have already stylistically, say an album of uptempos).
