Now that ulij20's game is over, I decided to open up my top 100 of 2002. This will give you some practice for my top 100 of 2004, which will come up in December/January. I will update the correct answers next to the original clues for the song, so people will know which ones to guess later. I will also provide progressively easier clues for wrong guesses.
Let's get it started.... (in herrrrrrrre)! ;)
100) This song is by a newcomer to the chart who got some help from members of an R&B duo. The title of the song is similar to the title of a previous radio release by the same artist. Nivea f/ Jagged Edge - Don't Mess With My Man
99) We got to see the workings of the inside of a watch in the video for this song. Default - Wasting My Time
98) The followup to this artist's comeback hit. The song would eventually launch itself to #1 on the pop and AC charts as well as my personal chart in 2003. Christina Aguilera - Beautiful
97) This band had one of the biggest hits of 2001 on multiple charts, but when it came to this followup, recurrentitis just killed it. Lifehouse - Breathing
96) This hit had an original version and a dance remix. I charted the original version, but I believe the dance remix was the only reason this song saw the top 20 on pop radio. Soluna - For All Time
95) A band with a number in the title, except the number is the name of one of the band members. It was a minor pop hit. Seven & The Sun - Walk With Me
94) A song by two RHY artists that many people in Seattle could sing a lot. Mary J. Blige f/ Ja Rule - Rainy Dayz
93) A holdover from 2001, this debut hit from this artist made waves from Urban to pop to AC. It peaked at #3 on my chart. Alicia Keys - Fallin'
92) When I compared this artist to Ricky Martin, I was ridiculed by many of her fans for the comparison. Nonetheless, I stand by it. This was her second release. Shakira - Underneath Your Clothes
91) A duo which dates back to the 70s has this comeback hit in 2002. Hall & Oates - Do It For Love
Good luck! :)

91) Hall & Oates - Do It For Love ?
I don't have any idea on the others. I'm bad at these games. Someone could say "the artist's name is M_donna" fill in the blank..and I'd be like "uhh..Menudo?" ;)

Updated the original clues. All guesses were right except #97 was guessed incorrectly.
99) The MusicMan claims he'll scream when he hears the song title. I think he's being a little hasty, and we all know what haste makes.
98) This artist won an award from a Gay Rights group for the video for this song.
97) Good guess with the Calling, but not quite right. The previous hit I was talking about "hung" onto the #2 spot on pop in 2001 for weeks.
96) The original version of this song also let it hit the AC chart.
95) People who didn't like this song claimed the bridge was weak. I mean, why use an R. Kelly song title as your bridge? It peaked in the summer of 2002.
93) The hit I am talking about fell into place at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the summer of 2001, but didn't fall onto the pop chart until the fall of 2001.

Only #96 seems to have people hung up. I guess I need an easier clue for you all.
This group is a one hit wonder on the pop chart. They tried to score another pop hit in 2003, but it peaked outside the top 50.

The only other song I can think of is "Heaven" by DJ Sammy, but it doesn't fit the original clue...

The only other song I can think of is "Heaven" by DJ Sammy, but it doesn't fit the original clue... That song is on later in this countdown. The "original" version of this song was a ballad by this all girl group. But many stations played a remix version that really detracted from the overall message of the song IMO. The comeback hit that this group tried last year had used the name of a day of the week in the title.

:smacks forehead: Is it "For All Time" by Soluna? Correcto! Onto the next ten: 90) Yet another comeback hit. This one is for a 90s rap group. The featured group on the song also released a pop/RHY hit in 2002, though it didn't make my chart. Naughty By Nature f/ 3 LW - Feels Good (Don't Worry Bout A Damn Thing89) Another leftover from 2001. You could say there is a family connection for me and this artist. Nelly Furtado - Turn Off The Light88) A boyband that broke up this past year. This was probably one of the reasons. While the song was somewhat successful, they never met the success of a smash hit from their first record. O-Town - These Are The Days87) Another song that was climbing my chart at the end of the year. You could say this was an anthem for girls and boys frustrated with special treatment for the wealthy. Good Charlotte - Lifestyles fo the Rich & Famous86) First of two hits by this rock band. This song mentioned a story about a son and his hard working mother. Nickelback - Too Bad85) This followup song to this artist's big debut hit but it certainly did not fair as well across the board. In the video for this song, the artist is on the street and a child comes up to her to listen in to her music on the headphones. Alicia Keys - A Woman's Worth84) A member of these boards was upset at this "rap" song and even listed it as one of his worst songs for 2002 because he claimed that the singer couldn't rap at all. Angie Martinez f/ Lil' Mo & Sanchez - If I Could Go83) This young artist sings about having a too sheltered life and how she wants to break out of it. Britney Spears - Overprotected82) Let's see, I woke up, got dressed, went to school, came home, watched tv, and went to bed. Yeah, that's typical. Vanessa Carlton - Ordinary Day81) This song is off of the soundtrack to a movie starring John Cusack. Since this song fell off in 2002, no other hit by this group has made my chart. Evan & Jaron - The Distance

Good job with all of the guesses except #84 was guessed wrong. Here's some more help:
86) No one took a stab at this one at all. Awww, that's just awful. No, that's terrible.
84) The person who critiqued this song said it should have been called "If I Could Rap".

Great work on #84! Is #86 really that tough? OK, here's a real easy clue.
This band had a huge #1 smash in 2001 on rock radio, but it took until 2002 for that song to make it big on pop radio. The song in question was the followup to this monster hit.

Yep yep! On with the countdown! 80) A country crossover artist that tried to work the same magic they did in 2000. It worked on AC, but not on pop. Lonestar - I'm Already There79) Tell me, what am I supposed to do about the clue for this song? Well, maybe give you a part of the chorus! ;) matchbox twenty - Disease78) 1st of two hits by this then new R&B artist. The video for the song featured the artist walking through several disasters including his apartment complex catching fire. Craig David - Walking Away77) Part of the title of this song uses part of the title of a popular children's novel. John Mayer - Your Body Is A Wonderland76) He wasn't riding a horse this time, but this R&B star made a huge comeback on RHY, Urban, and even pop with this slow jam. Ginuwine - Differences75) Never say never when it comes to this artist. She was able to score a #1 on Urban with this song. Brandy - What About Us?74) Combine an artist who grew up in a small town with an artist who frequently wore a flower in her hair and you get this smash hit. John Mayer f/ India.Arie - Peaceful World73) This artist fought herself in the video for this song. Madonna - Die Another Day72) The artist's then boyfriend is a major fixture in the video for this late 2002 hit. Jennifer Lopez f/ Styles & Jadakiss - Jenny From The Block71) This artist recently had a general flop on pop radio with new material. This song at least made the top 20 on pop in 2001. Lenny Kravitz - Dig In

Looks like we'll need some easier clues here. :)
78) The title of this song is probably some good advice to give kids instead of having them fight.
77) This artist seems to be confused a lot about the real world. In his first hit, he sang how it was all a lie. Now he comes back with another fantasy world.
76) The key in this clue was the word "horse". Think of a popular gold single with that title and you'll get the artist.
74) One of the artists on this song is currently walking tall on the radio waves.
71) This pop hit was the last time this artist would have a top 20 hit on pop radio. All of his other material would barely touch the top 40. He has had some better success though on Hot AC.

78--Walking Away, Craig David? Doesn't really fit the first clue, but it makes sense with the last one. May as well guess... 77--Your Body Is A Wonderland, John Mayer 76--Differences, Ginuwine
