Avril is safe to get in 1 week, maybe 2 at #1. However, she's close to losing her bullet, and if her loses really start picking up and Ciara maintains hers, Avril's days at #1 are limited and "Goodies" will make it there :( It's probable actually.

I don't mind "Goodies" being #1, but I'd like Avril to stay there as long as possible.

In other news... wow, look at Seether's 'Broken' go. I'd never thought this song would have enough legs to make it this far (and still going strong). I like this song a lot so I wish it the best run. :)

My Prerogative is slowly down. Although I'm not surprised, I was expecting more from the single. Hopefully it'll regain its monstrous bullet, but I don't think so. Just Lose It barely has a +800 gain today. It went down +500 spins from yesterday. Hopefully it peaks at number 9 and then falls. I hate that new DC song. I don't think it deserves top 10, let alone top 20. Avril is number 1. Never thought she would have another number 1 after I'm With You. Congratulations to her. And her album just went 2x platinum. Not a bad sophomore attempt.

I'm still hoping that Maroon 5 are moving up to #1 again! "She Will Be Loved" is a much better song than Avril's and her song only got payola to get to #1. Eminem should slow down even more and don't reach the higher positions of the charts.

That song is far worse than This Love and IMO did not deserve the top spot on the chart. It is boring and not really #1 material in my book. Let's go Kelly Clarkson! #1 baby! And all you doubters out there about Kelly not scoring another top 10! ;)

How do you know if Maroon 5's record company didn't do the same thing? YOU DON'T. So shutup.

Haha...for some reason I find it pretty funny how payola is so often suspected (and often assumed) the moment a song which someone doesn't like suddenly shoots up the chart. Well I guess you gotta blame someone...it's still pretty funny and ridiculous though.

It's pretty obvious that Avril's song received significant payola because of how much lower its comparable audience impressions are. Payola is almost exclusively geared toward smaller-market stations, which is why this is the case. Avril doesn't deserve number one. I'd like to see a payola-free chart sometime...

There is no proof of this payola.

There is no proof of this payola. I agree. Smaller market stations generally play less hip-hop than the larger markets. That would explain why Avril is getting a lot of play there (not that she isn't at large market stations). Less hip-hop on the playlist leaves room for more Avril.

Eminem's bullet is slowing down rapidly. It actually looks as if he might peak at #9. Serves him right.
Avril looks as if she'll be good for at least two weeks on top. Very nice.
The "Goodies" bullet seems to be dropping slowly but surely. I don't really hate the song, but it doesn't deserve #1, so that might be good news.

No, I think that number 1 spot has "Goodies" written all over it. Avril should've hit number 1 a while ago, she's not as strong as she used to be. And don't get me excited about Eminem only peaking at number 9. It'd be ideal, but we all know he's at least top 5. :(

LOL...
Maroon 5: J Records - RCA Music Group Avril Lavigne: RCA Records - RCA Music Group
Same pot of money, people! All run under the same financial umbrella.
Add Kelly Clarkson to this list, although Breakaway is on Hollywood/Disney.
Avril is a BIG priority for RCA/BMG. She sold 15 million worldwide of her first CD.

A week ago I was trashing Ryan Cabrera's song, but in the past couple of days its grown on me a ton and now I love it! Weird...
Tonight I was in a car with a few friends and John Mayer's new song came on. We nearly puked. Hopefully it won't keep rising.
Everybody I know seems to like Eminem's new song....it's not as bad as everyone says it is, but it's definitely not good. ???

Woah, what happened to Vanessa Carlton's bullet? My guess is no Rick Dees boost this week. It should go up a little this weekend because it just debuted on AT40.

Eminem's bullet is slowing down rapidly. It actually looks as if he might peak at #9. Serves him right. OK, I also hate the song, but come on...how can it peak at #9 if it's already at #9 and still has a bullet of just under +800? I definitely agree that a fast fall is obvious, but let's not be too optimisic here. lol...

It's pretty obvious that Avril's song received significant payola because of how much lower its comparable audience impressions are. ??? 58.7-60.3=-1.6 1.6m audience less than Maroon5 is NOT "much lower". If you want to give a reason to hide the Avril hate then at least give a plausible one.

People, why are you so pessimistic? I admit, Eminem will propbably get higher than #9, but at least his bullet is already below +700 from something like +3000 last week. So I don't think it's too long of a shot to say he'll miss the top five, althought he'll probably get a boost when he debuts on the countdown shows.
And why is the Ryan Cabrera song still climbing? It's been around for months and he's overdue to lose his bullet.
And the "Goodies" song is slowing down, but it has really not much competition, so I suppose it'll eventually ease into the #1 spot. Sigh.

Stop your worrying. Avril WILL be #1, though not by as big a gap as I hoped.
