Sticky, please. :) Avril took #1 on the first update of this week, and should remain on top for next Sunday. Also, go Regis Philbin! Two simultaneous top 421 SMASH HITS! -- 412 PHILBIN, REGIS When You're Smiling 1 0 1 0.015 -- 421 PHILBIN, REGIS Pennies From Heaven 1 0 1 0.009

There's really no way she possibly can. Maroon5 is dropping fast and everyone else is more than 1500 spins behind her.
She was so close to being #1 yesterday, too, but oh well. I wish her a long reign at the top.

I'm glad Maroon 5 managed one last week at top, "SWBL" is very deserving in terms of both quality and popularity. How many weeks at the top did it end up clocking in? 3?
Glad Avril also made it to #1, continuing the theme of 2004 having the best #1's of this decade so far (with only 2 mishaps: Jojo and Ashlee).
I wouldn't worry about Avril losing #1 this week.... she has it on lock. Thanks to Eminem, she may have a short run, but she'll at least get one week in there without a doub. Besides, Eminem may slow down once he hits the Top 5 anyway due to the fact that this song is even more novelty than "Without Me" and "The Real Slim Shady"
2 Christina singles out at the same time are both going to miss the Top 20!

I think Just Lose It is 2004's "Pop". It'll rise into the top 10, stall, and just crash and burn off the chart.
Urgh, Ciara's at #3!!! >:( >:( That song is NOT deserving of pop #1. Can't Kelly Clarkson rise quicker and stop her!
Nice to see My Prerogative rising not too fast and not too slow. Once some of the big markets get a hold of this, it should make a nice rise to the top 10.

Yes, Maroon5 managed three weeks at the top, making it their biggest hit ever on the pop chart. I confess that I'm not too sorry to see them go. The vocals really grate on me.
Eminem will probably make the top five, even the top three, but I don't think it has the magic to make it to the top. I could be wrong, though; if Ashlee Simpson can hit #1, then just about anyone can.
As much as I hat to say it, I doubt "Breakaway" will make it to the top. It's just not popular enough. They don't even play it on KIIS, do they?
Yes, it's nice to see My Prerogative on the way up the chart. I just hope its bullet doesn't shrink too much more.

I agree with this year having great #1's. I think they were all somewhat deserving. I would say the least deserving is "The Way You Move."

"Car Wash" just vamoosed out of the top 40. :o Yeah, from day one I had the sneaking suspicion that "Car Wash" was going to be one of those songs that hits the chart fast and leaves even faster.

But as long as she gets it for at least one week I'm happy.

Just because it spent one more week @ #1, that does not make it their "biggest" hit on the pop chart. Spending time at peak positions has little to do with it. It is about longevity. Will stations 6 months from now or 1 year from now be spinning She Will Be Loved more than This Love? That is a measure of the "biggest" hit, not weeks @ #1 or whatever peak position.

"This Love" wasn't at #1 for more than 2 weeks? :o That song was by far more popular than SWBL. "This Love" had to compete with "Yeah!". It had 7 weeks of over 8000 spins (6 of them over 8200 spins), compared to 2 weeks for "SWBL" (and none over 8200 spins).

Good God, how old is 'My Goodies?' I feel like it has been around for at least 6 months. Hopefully the minimal album sales will cause radio to back off quickly. If she hits #1 she will ruin what, for me, was a great year for Pop radio and the chart.
I doubt 'Tilt Ya Head Back' will rebound even with the official adds date tomorrow.
Kelly Clarkson deserves another #1 with 'Breakaway.' She's at least going Top 3. I do believe that KIIS does play it.

Just because it spent one more week @ #1, that does not make it their "biggest" hit on the pop chart. It definitely does not. A song's rank just depends on timing. As Matt said, spin totals for "This Love" were way ahead of "She Will Be Loved" and had it not been for "Yeah!", it would definitely have got over 5 weeks at the top. "This Love" is also, in my opinion at least, miles ahead of SWBL in terms of quality...I'm not really a fan of "My Happy Ending", but glad to see it replace SWBL for the top spot.

I don't see how KIIS could ignore this once it goes Top 5. I know they went more Rhythmic, but they played 'Pieces of Me' every five seconds.

It is deeply ironic that Kelly Clarksons hometown of Dallas, and her current city of residence, L.A., are the only CHR/POP markets in the country ignoring this song. Its position is #7 with a bullet today of +826--third largest on the chart and ahead of DC. Dallas and L.A.s support would push it over the hump to #1. The reasons are the same in both markets: Rythmic/Rap/Hip-Hop leaning Faux-POP stations. If theres any justice "Breakaway" will make the top 5 without them, they will look really stupid for ignoring such a great song, and add it as it absolutely deserves to be added in high rotation.

Wasnt Tilt pulled as the pop single? Oh alright I didn't know the story behind it, although now it seems like the record company saw little pre-impact action and assumed no one was interested in it and so shelved it. Oh I could have sworn I was told that it would only go for adds at RHY and not pop. Eh. My mistake. Or someone else's mistake as they told me that But the song is higher on the Pop chart than on Rhythmic so that makes no sense. In fact it falls to #48 this week.

Im not saying it makes sense-I even said in the topic...why would they pull a song from going for adds when it was a bullet of 500 in the top 30?! I was under the impression it was because the Tim song was to be his new single. Eh. lol. Moving on-go Kelly and Avril and Vanessa at least gets one day at 30 (I know someone will probably know her out by Sunday >:( )

is there an explanation as to why a bunch of songs lost spins since the last update? was a station taken off the panel?
